Maine GOP going down for the count. Business Insider: Romney Campaign Likely Pushed Maine GOP Not to Count Paul Votes

by Grace Wyler | Business Insider

By now, it is clear that the Maine caucuses were a complete mess.

Evidence is mounting that Mitt Romney's 194-vote victory over Ron Paul was prematurely announced, if not totally wrong. Washington County canceled their caucus on Saturday on account of three inches of snow (hardly a blizzard by Maine standards), and other towns that scheduled their caucuses for this week have been left out of the vote count. Now, it looks like caucuses that did take place before Feb. 11 have also been left out of final tally.

As the full extent of the chaos unfolds, sources close to the Paul campaign tell Business Insider that it is looking increasingly like Romney's team might have a hand in denying Paul votes, noting that Romney has some admirably ruthless operatives on his side and a powerful incentive to avoid a fifth caucus loss this month.

Going down too.

Sorry to be a little out of topic but the last days we've seen:

Will Romney DROP OUT

The following are Romney's change in votes from 2008 to 2012 as a percentage.

Iowa -0.64% *
New Hampshire +7.25%
South Carolina +12.7%
Florida +15%
Nevada -1.1%
Minnesota -24.36%
Colorado -25%
Maine -12.66% *

* Denotes proven election fraud in Romney's favor, not adjusted for in these numbers.

Opps, In my Opinion, Romney or Paul will win by 200 votes

One way or the other!!!! (Must have been the other!)Force the numbers!
"What will happen is that either Paul or Romney will win by 200 votes, in my opinion, one way or the other," Webster said Friday, although he did not know the tally from the caucuses that have been held statewide. So you're some sort of prophet? Watch the Vote has Ron Paul winning so far at 41%! Upit

How legit is Business Insider?

I know they seem to be pro-Ron Paul (or at least not anti-Ron Paul), but is it just a fancy-named blog, or does it generate a good amount of traffic?

I hope the names of the cheats and crooks are recorded

If their aiding and abetting tyranny results in death camps, murder, and other such rewards of cronyism, they should be held accountable when their Fourth Reich is taken down.

They should not be allowed to deny the political process on behalf of criminals and then, after all is done, just live out their lives.

They should be sought after and tried for their crimes.

The 20th Century had Nazi Hunters, the 21st Century will have Neocon Hunters.

What is abundantly clear

(since Iowa) is that we the people are irrelevent.

We simply do not matter.

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.
Ron Paul - The Revolution

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

This may come back to bite Romney in the buttocks.

It may very well lead to his demise. It's pretty obvious that Maine was altered. If someone, somewhere could finger the Romney camp with any influence in any way, he'd be finished. There will be a lot of attention on Washington Co. this Saturday. The newspaper guy on Rachel Maddow's interview said the Washington Co. turnout may just eclispe the whole State of Maine caucus turnout. He says they are fired up about this GOP slop, and that will probably mean a strong Ron Paul turnout. Seems like all of the inconsistent results favored Romney. There is no doubt collusion involved, and it really needs to be hammered home. The Ron Paul camp should publicly target Webster for answers, to the point of legal pursuit...make the guy squirm. "We want to know who told you to falsify reporting". Keep saying it over and over...you know who'll really be sweating? The Mittster.

Here's your chance Ron Paul camp! Throw this into the"Court of Public Opinion" by demanding answers. This could be the gamechanger! Thanks Romney!

Damage control: If Ron Paul does have a real strong turnout and overtakes the lead, along with the "unreported" Paul caucus wins, Romney will probably issue a short concession statement and try and wash his hands and hope to move on. But, no way should the Paul camp let that happen. Don't except the concession, and be concise about it. They tried to cheat Paul, and got caught. There never would be a concession if the spotlight wasn't on the cheating GOP.

This was a desperation move

Well said. Romney is falling apart.

That's Right

It's worth looking at so I'll "back ya up"!

Good! If Romney's out because of this...then all we

have to deal with is Slick Rick and his big money puppet masters.

Shades of 2000?

If the Republican Party was hoping to dispel the Democratic Party claim that the GOP stole the 2000 election in Florida, what happened in Maine sure wasn't the way to go about it.

BUST them hard.

Don't let up until the truth comes out.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

Depending on Maine's Laws

governing fraud and elections, legal charges need to be promptly filed against the various culprits in this mess. Throwing this case into court will FORCE the mass media to FINALLY address the issue. Who knows what the process of discovery will reveal. ;) I can understand why large "conservative" media outlets like the Drudge Report are reluctant to address this issue as they see Romney as their best hope in defeating Obama in 2012. Actually, I think Romney is nearing the point of no-return if any member of his staff can be tied to the fiasco in Maine. In the longer term, Ron Paul continues to become more viable by the day.... Hang in there, Ron, as 2012 is shaping up to be a wild ride.

Truthbearer's picture

Already...

...in the process.

I just thought of an added reason

why the Washington County caucuses were postponed (not cancelled). A snowstorm was forecast and that would mean the only people who would caucus were the most committed. Everyone knows that only Ron Paul supporters would crawl a mile over broken glass or wade through four-foot snow drifts to vote for their candidate, so better to postpone Washington County and not count its votes if we're going for a Romney victory.

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

That is a very good point...

That is a very good point... and i don't know why I didn't consider this possibility before. It may explain the cancellation due to rather mild weather (3 inches would keep any Gingrich supporter at home, LOL), but it doesn't necessarily explain why they are being so hard headed about allowing the Washington County totals into the count after the fact.... especially if good weather is forecast for this weekend.

The Maine Republican Party

The Maine Republican Party won't decide which votes it will count until the executive committee meets next month

I wonder if lawyers could demand them have emergency meeting now, before super tuesday?

Pay close attention to this paragraph in the article:

"The fruits of this labor are evident in Iowa, where Paul's former state campaign co-chair A.J. Spiker was just elected as the new chairman of the Iowa Republican Party. Spiker replaces Matt Strawn, who stepped down over this year's Iowa caucus dustup. In Nevada, the state chair has also resigned over caucus disaster, and several Ron Paul supporters are well-positioned to step up to fill the void. These new leaders not only expand Paul's influence at the state level, but also help protect Paul and his hard-won delegates from state party machinations as the delegate-selection process moves to district and state conventions, and eventually the Republican National Convention this summer."

You can bet Charlie Webster's replacement will be a Paulian.
Anyone who is thinking 3rd party run, please stop now.

Great battles need smart tactics

If we keep pushing hard, the sprinkling of extremely well funded GOP gofers will wither away and drop out. That's when the "for the people, by the people" troops move in!

Participate in America's future- Research Ron Paul- Truth will Prevail! You too, will be proud one day, to be able to say: "I was a Ron Paul supporter."

This is True, BUT..

...ALL WOULD BE WELL ADVISED TO..

THIS IS GONNA HAPPEN AGAIN!!

"Beyond the blackened skyline, beyond the smoky rain, dreams never turned to ashes up until.........

yup...

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

Thank you Paul Supporters in Maine

I think we all owe a lot to the paul supporters in Maine. They are pulling the strings now. Nationwide we have put the pressure on but they have the power to get the job done and change the politics and corruption in their state. I salute you Maine voters. I am damn Proud of what you are doing. You deserve to have your votes counted. Thank you very much.

I believe the title of this

I believe the title of this post is rather misleading. The article states that "sources close to the Paul campaign" are making the charge that the Romney campaign (and/or highly placed supporters in Maine) colluded to 'fix' vote totals. This is not an expose' of investigative journalism. It is merely an article relating what amounts to suspicions from Paul's people and supporters.

Those suspicions may very well be valid (and I suspect the same). But let's not go around tweaking things to suit our suspicions, however valid they may be.

I fear we, as a community, might be losing our heads a bit over this Maine thing. Let's be as innocent as doves and wise as serpents. We are getting a bit unraveled here. I saw another post where people were posting Charlie Websters business phone number and home address, with others suggesting calling in pranks to the business posing as customers. That should be beneath all of us here.

Gotta' Hand It To Mitt ...

His thugs (unlike the Newtster's) don't waste their time stomping on an occasional bare foot. Instead, they stomp on hundreds of votes at a time in order to steal elections.

Remember the Maine Caucus Snow Job!

Romney's "thugs" strike me as

Romney's "thugs" strike me as the Mafia, while Newt's strike me more as the muscle neighborhood gang type.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

Sounds like

a good title for a new Money Bomb!

Jim Rogers

The Frigin GOP Is Doing All The Work For Us...Morons!

Lets take it over and make it viable...

This Maine issue leads all the way to the top and Romulan is knee deep in sh*t now..

If we can prove he is involved, the nomination will go to Ron Paul..

The other two idiots will fall like ripe figs...
