and since then Fox 19 has been airing reality check. Not sure how popular the show is in ohio but ben swann has certainly helped shine some light on the media spin regarding the campaign.

Not to be a Spoiler...But
I have tremendous support for Ron Paul, however when I came across this article I assumed this was a "current" Straw Poll taken. If you look at the results video it was uploaded to Youtube in October of last year. Personally I feel posting these stories to appear new can only do harm in spreading Ron Paul's message if people were to share these as if they are current.
Hey! Y-all forgot my video
I was there too.

RON PAUL or NOT AT ALL
What freedom looks like
This is what none of the other candidates have.
And this is what drives the party and the establishment crazy.
And because they can not harness the enthusiasm they will do anything they can to try and stop us.
But the idea of liberty is alive and well, and the time has come.
We...will...not...stop.
Now go hit that money bomb again.

RON PAUL or NOT AT ALL
I was there!!
I was there!!
"I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove."
The straw poll was meaningless
I was at the straw poll, it meant nothing.
No other campaign took it seriously or cared, let alone knew it was taking place.
It was still early enough in the process other more traditional supporters hadn't mobilized.
We had a specific plan to win the straw poll, it was actually kind of ridiculous how we outnumbered the other mainstream GOPers there who had no clue what was happening.
Ron Paul is polling at 10% in Ohio and I think that's probably accurate. It's a pretty big state with a lot of rural area that is hard core neo-con.
There are some small, but vocal pockets of Ron Paul support in Cincinnati and especially Cleveland but unfortunately this is neo-con territory. I think Santorum will win here unless Romney does very well in Michigan and gets a bump in the northern part of Ohio which is basically Southern Michigan.
Straw polls are about as useless as online polls have gotten. Nobody takes them seriously because we swamp them and skew the results.
Straw polls are only "meaningless"....
Straw polls are only "meaningless" to the extent that the MSM chooses to make them meaningless.
I am sure you are correct in your assessment of the current state of Ron Paul support in Ohio.
However, the MSM has reported similar straw polls (that were nearly as "meaningless") and touted them as major wins for mainstream candidates. They were able to parlay Cain's Florida straw poll victory into a major surge in the national polls.
Almost simultaneously they discounted Ron Paul's straw poll victory in California.
Straw polls are publicity stunts.
Without the free publicity and credibility provided by a complicit MSM they are indeed "meaningless".

Let us do this
I am thinking of buying super brochures and taping it to one of the bathrooms in the mall, or buying banners and other signs to put next to intersections. I am also spreading out Ron Paul videos over twitter and facebook, which helps to wake people up. tweet it to celebs or on other candidates twitters and try to convert some followers xD, just yesterday some guy who is my first follower on twitter, started following me because i sent him an inspirational Ron Paul video, and he has about 41,000 followers.
A question..
The Caucuses and primaries we have had, for the most part, are being touted in the MSM as "beauty contests, public opinion, and 'Only'straw polls...
...But when we have won 90% of ALL straw polls across America, it means nothing.
Perhaps we should compare the ststes where we won the straw polls to the states they are calling "straw polls" and see how we are doing.
Then make a big deal about it.
Because to me they are very comparable (except in amount of actual votes)
Ron Paul win the California straw poll too?
Isn't that right? A juicy sirloin steak of delegates here - I'm in!
Great way to increase your donation...
See my post about a great way to increase your donation. If you like the idea please bump.

Reality check - we are at 10%
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/oh/oh...
If we can get to 20% we get a couple delegates from the portion that is proportionally allocated. But remember we were polling around 12% in Florida and ended up at 7% without an active campaign. Ohio is not worth the effort for a longshot at a couple delegates when Idaho, Washington, Alaska, and North Dakota caucuses offer 130 delegates.
Reality check.. The Polls and
Reality check.. The Polls and elections are rigged. Don't believe them.
If you believe that
there's no reason to get involved because "they" will always win. Face reality. We can win in certain places but not in Ohio.
I believe the polls are rigged
when the Establishment needs them to be rigged. The same goes for elections.
BUT right now, in Ohio, the Establishment doesn't NEED to rig them. There really are that many people asleep here.

Actually WE aren't the ones that need to be reminded.
The public at large needs to be reminded. Or maybe I should say INFORMED about this in the first place.
I wonder how many GOP primary voters nationally are aware of this result?
Or had ever even heard of this result?
10%?
5%?
As long as the MSM acts as a news filter for most Americans, victories like these will be morale builders for Paulites but will not result in a vote multiplier event that results in poll surges.

Redistricting has screwed up the race.
For awhile it looked as though a Democrat redistricting lawsuit was going to move our primary to June. The, at virtually the last minute, it was reconfirmed for Super Tuesday.
I don't think most people are paying attention yet. The only ones who are are Ron Paul supporters. (Yes, I have a sign in my yard and one on my car.)
I live in a heavily Democrat neighborhood, and mine is the only GOP sign up for a presidential candidate.
And yes, the local AM talk radio station kills the competition here during daytime hours. However, we also have a big Tea Party presence. And this was the state where we amended our Constitution to keep Obamacare out of Ohio.
We need Ron Paul here on the ground. I know he could get massive turnout, and that's what can lead to local news coverage. That's going to be a great way to reach the non-Internet voters in Ohio--local news coverage. Canvassing can work, and I think phone calls can too, but people here do tend to do what the TV tells them to do.

Since it's winner-take-all by
Congressional District, wouldn't it be best to cherry pick those
districts where RP has the best prospects and concentrate
resources there? I heard there are several districts where
Santorum can't win delegates because he didn't submit a
slate of them(as Ohio requires) - what about going after those?
If winning the whole state isn't in the cards, winning a few
CD's and the delegates that go with them would be a whole
*lot* better than nothing..
you sir
should be employed by the campaing if that is the case. Are you in OH? I sure hope so. Why is none of this coming down to people (or at least in sufficient numbers to make a diffrence?) As you say, cherry pick the districs you can win and go from there.

Thanks for
the vote of confidence - I'm registered in OR, not OH and am actually overseas (Japan)
and have no connection to the official campaign. You would hope that someone there is
on this, though.
Anyway, best wishes to everyone in Ohio. FWIW - the Ohio districts where Santorum's
name will not appear are the 6th (along the KY/WV border) the 9th and the 13th.
(In the 9th redistricting is forcing Dennis Kucinich to run against the Democratic incumbent
Marcy Kaptur).
Well, if he and Paul don't make it, maybe Kucinich can be Paul's VP for an independent run..
The Ben Swann Event
Ben Swann is located in Cincy. Maybe there is hope.
Ohio is a state full
of cable news junkies. The left/right paradigm is a major form of entertainment here and cable news and talk radio are where that sport is consumed. They don't get out to the straw polls, but they do drag themselves out to the poll places on election day to do what the TV tells them to do.
It's an uphill fight in Ohio and I've worn enough rubber off my Crocs in this state to tell you, if we don't get positive TV coverage here and positive FOX NEWS coverage in the days leading to the election, and possibly don't get Limbaugh to shut up for a few days, canvassing will barely make a dent.
We could parade through every downtown everyday, but the majority of voters are going to be listening to Limbaugh compare Santorum to Romney to Gingrich, and then tune in to hear Hannity do the same. Everyone thinks their family is some kind of exception that it has a Paul supporter in it because they believe their TV when it tells them we're rare.
The fight in Ohio is to wake people up one by one so that they are too enlightened to believe their TVs anymore. (That Ron Paul "can't win" was told to me as the reason over and over that someone wouldn't vote for Paul. :facepalm) We are WAY behind in that fight. It's still a noble fight. It's just a longer game than the time we have left before the primaries.
