Jon Stewart, Anti Dept. Of Education?

I was watching Jon Stewart tonight and he interviewed a DOE tool. The guy literally sounded like a salesman. Anyways JS challenged their vision. I suggest everyone check it out http://www.thedailyshow.com/. It may not be up until Fri. 16th.

Jon is such a believer of govt....

until it encroaches on something he knows about, it seems. He has enough contact with teachers to see that the benevolent hand of government is not ultimately helpful to the mission of education, and recognizes that the free actions of the many is the best way to improve results.

If he could just connect some of these dots, he might one day wake up :-)

I'm voting for Peace.

YES

he loves it, but he makes fun of it but he's funny so i love it

No matter what people think of....

Jon Stewart at least he can defend his positions in politics within an intelligent conversation. One of the few open minded people in media.

This Duncan guy is a real

This Duncan guy is a real idiot... How in the hell have we accepted this idea of having a central authority "set the standards" for our nation's educational system?

All I heard from Duncan was

His entire message is "more..."

more funding for more teachers, counselors, administrators, bureaucrats, power over kids and parents, more school hours each day... Meanwhile the free market as in Khan Academy and Thiele and homeschooling are doing so much more with zero tax/debt funding.

Less is more

Homeschooled kids do in an hour what public school kids take a day to do.

The Video Is Up!

Arne Duncan is his name...
