Ron Paul Issues Statement on Latest CBO Report
Submitted by legalizeliberty on Fri, 02/17/2012 - 15:00LAKE JACKSON, Texas – Congressman and 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul issued the following statement regarding the release of the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report “Understanding and Responding to Persistently High Unemployment.” The report shows that, when those who have given up looking for work and those working part-time but would prefer full-time work are counted, the unemployment rate is actually 15%. The CBO study also projects that the official unemployment rate will remain above 8% until at least 2014. See comments below:
“The CBO report confirms that, despite the happy talk from Washington, the economy remains in crisis. Ironically, this report was released the week of the third anniversary of the passage of the President’s stimulus plan, which the President and his Keynesian supporters promised would reduce unemployment to below 8%.
“Clearly, the Keynesian tax-borrow-spend approach favored by the elites of both parties has failed. My Plan to Restore America not only balances the budget in three years, but it will create jobs by permanently extending the Bush-era tax cuts, ending all taxes on personal savings, and lowering the corporate tax rate to 15%.
“The plan allows American companies to repatriate capital without additional taxation. Repatriation alone will bring trillions of dollars into the economy.
“My Plan to Restore America also begins to rein in the Federal Reserve by conducting a full audit of the Fed and legalizing competing currencies so the American people can protect themselves from the economic chaos caused by the Fed.
“The Plan to Restore America frees American entrepreneurs and workers from unconstitutional, job-destroying regulations. On my first day as President, I will order the federal bureaucracy to stop enforcing the unconstitutional National Health Care, Dodd-Frank, and Sarbanes-Oxley laws. I will also impose an immediate moratorium on all new regulations.
“Of the five men seeking the presidency in the major parties – President Obama, Governor Romney, Speaker Gingrich, Senator Santorum, and myself – I am the only one who predicted the economic meltdown and the only one who has proposed a serious plan to balance the budget, reduce taxes, and create jobs.”

This confirms my belief
that President Paul CAN and WILL repeal all un-Constutional laws and regulations by simply ordering the Federal bureaucracy not to enforce them.
"On my first day as President, I will order the federal bureaucracy to stop enforcing the unconstitutional National Health Care, Dodd-Frank, and Sarbanes-Oxley laws. I will also impose an immediate moratorium on all new regulations."
I have actually debated this on several forums where posters argue that he will have difficulty getting his programme through Congress. They have no understanding of the Constitutional role of the President or the power of the Constitution.
The most important parts of Dr. Paul's programmes can be easily achieved by NOT enforcing existing laws, including the War on Drugs with Presidential PARDONS (i.e.NO criminal record) for all non-violent Federal prisoners serving time for drug related offences. This alone could swing millions of African American votes his way. The President is responsible for administering and enforcing all laws created by the Congress. He is not responsible to administer and enforce un-Constitutional laws. This also applies to the Federal Reserve Act but that will require an education programme, including a thorough audit, and the immediate recognition of competing Constitutional currencies i.e.gold and silver.
I do not know whether many of Dr. Paul's supporters realise this and I have assumed the campaign was keeping it under wraps for strategic reasons since it is a political weapon of mass destruction of rules and regulations that do not pass the Constitutionality test.
Like Barry Goldwater promised he will spend most time vetoing and repealing useless laws and regulations and shutting down Federal departments. It is this power that will liberate the nation. This actually excites me and I am not a very excitable person. It is good to see the clear road ahead to the destination Dr. Paul has described...Liberty. He can do it in his first term.

Actually the true unemployment rate is 23%
If you include long-term discouraged workers on top of the official U-6 rate which the campaign cites. Prior to 1994 they were included. Now they are not. Hmm.

Even looking at the narrow U-3 official rate of 8.3%, if you adjust for the shrinkage in the work force during the recession the real unemployment rate has been around 11% since 2009.

But that would
make Obama look bad.

agreed
Former Reagan administration official Paul Craig Roberts wrote an article explaining that if unemployment level was measured accoring to as it was in 1982 the unemployment would be at 22%.
For many years government was changing the way unemployment was calculated -- basically it is "cooking" the books and the same is with the inflation level etc.

He's NOT "spkr" Gingrich
I wish the official campaign would realize basic protocol regarding titles of ex-officials. Mr. Gingrich is NOT "spkr" Gingrich. I once posted a great source for this -- it's easy to locate.

I'm confused
Dr. Ron Paul issues an important statement and nobody posts a comment here?
Ron Paul:
"The report shows that, when those who have given up looking for work and those working part-time but would prefer full-time work are counted, the unemployment rate is actually 15%"
I think this is important.
No other presidential candidate talks about the real unemployment numbers.

Perhaps others, like me, thought this was
issued and posted previously.
Perhaps
Thanks for bumping it.
It was just posted by the campaign on its website and I was the first one to post it here and also on Twitter.
