From La Pine Or to Vancouver Wa on Empty

11 pm Wednesday I arrived at the hospital with my husband. I was dreading the hour long trek to the nearest hospital but my husband's fever continued to climb-- so off we went. He ended up with a 105 degree fever--(104.8)-- unknown cause, his disease, Lupus was ultimately named the culprit. I stayed up comforting him and doing the best I could to maintain my enthusiam about going to the event the next morning all the while fighting the thought of a sleepless, lifeless trip. Living on Paul fuel and sole enthusiasm, I managed to keep my eyes peeled by watching videos from paulflix.com and of course my favorite ---dailypaul.com :-) The clock rolled from 11 to midnight, then one, two, three and by then I figured out that this would be yet another sleepless night. EXCEPT--a sleepless night with a cause. The cause and the motivation being to meet and take a picture with the next President of these United States--Dr. Paul himself. I continued to battle in my mind as to go or not but reasoned on going since my niece Emily vowed to drive and keep me company (not to mention the chance to see Paul herself).
There was a cat scan results, etc and finally the release. We got to go home! It was 5 am and we faced a 1 hr car ride home then a quick shower, bite to eat and off to scoop up the driver. I was torn leaving my husband home under the weather but between his encouraging blessing that I go and his mother kindly volunteering to come take care of her baby, I was off!
I refused to miss this opportunity! Who knew when the next time he would come to the North West would be and I could't risk it. I loaded up on 60 oz's of High Rev coffee (my favorite), programmed the GPS and off we went. Road Trip!!!
We were the 1st ones on the scene--arriving there at 11:30 AM, we hung out and conversed with the other Paulites that started to trickle in a few hours later. My niece, whose 18 was shock and awed at the fact that most people who showed up were her age and so on fire for Dr. Paul! We were comforted to know that we aren't the only ones crazy for RP---by far----!! To the contrary, after the event (words cannot express this experiece; if you have not seen this man speak in his convictions you haven't lived!)we strolled out the front doors of the hilton--RP signs EVERYWHERE and were soon told that the lines were backed up to the bridge. Not the foot bridge several blocks away but the green bridge SEVERAL MILES AWAY!! Oh My Gosh!!
I can go on for days attempting to explain my experience and sensations both felt and observed but I fear my brain lacks the capacity to express this, especially since I lost a 24 hour period of sleep (you never get that back you know?).
The best I can do to describe this experience is the after affect; watch the video of us rolling through the area and FREAKING out! Sorry about the video quality; I am not a pro but just wish to convey our excitement; Vancouver's excitement. My fatigue didn't come on till hours after we were on the road. The first few hours went something like this, "wow. wow. wow, Emily--stop and get me some duct tape so I'll just be saying mmmm, mmmm, mmmmmm" WE LOVE YOU DR. PAUL!!! Love you WA!
