Just got back from the Ron Paul rally in Boise.

Ron Paul rallies supporters in Boise on TwitpicWOW! What a great event. I got there early and spoke to a few volunteers about the new caucus in Idaho and the steps to becoming a delegate. It is a chilly day with lite rain and some sporadic flurries. The wind was also blowing. It was cold.

I made my way into the arena. The doors would not open for another 45 minutes so people were mainly just huddled all together to be out of the weather and to get the best seats.

I kept looking out the doors to see if the crowd was growing, but it looked sparse.

Then they let us in. I got a seat in the front row. And I watched a steady stream of people file in the door for about 40 minutes. Just when you thought that the people were done showing up, another long steady stream would file in.

The arena holds 6000. The had the podium at half court. This is a hockey/basketball arena. More than half of the arena filled up. There were definitely over 3,000 people there.

Will Grigg and the new Ron Paul state coordinator spoke.

Then Ron came out. He gave a fine speech. He signed autographs, shook hands, and then had to be rushed away because he had to catch a flight to Kansas City, MO. I met Carol Paul and their granddaughter. Very nice people.

This event, with the massive crowd was organized in less than 3 days. There was very little press and very little time to get people rallied up. But they did come.

Raul Labrador was the only prominent Idaho politician to show up. I watched him throughout the speech and noticed he spent quite a bit of time texting on his phone.

I spoke with a newspaper reporter and he said that this crowd today was larger and more energized than the other two candidates to speak here in Boise. He said he has covered politics in this city since 1976 and is impressed by the massive crowd and the energy.

People of all ages were climbing over the walls to get a chance to meet Ron and get an autograph. Security and the police saw it happening and did not attempt to stop it. That was refreshing.

I did ask Mr. Labrador if he supported NDAA. He confirmed that he did vote against it. The people around me were impressed with that. Someone did get up prior to Ron Paul coming out and said that Labrador would be attending and that we should all hold his feet to the Tea Party fire. Ron Paul spoke at the CenturyLink arena in the heart of Boise. Mitt Romney spoke in some bad warehouse on the outskirts of town.

All in all it was a great event. Impressive that this many people show up to a rally like this with less than three days notice.

The best part was shaking Ron's hand as he left the arena. Also, the number of people signing up to be precinct chair people was off the charts. I saw stacks and stacks of people enrolling to participate. Even the guy next to me who has not voted since 1992 signed up!

Well done, Miss Pitino.

Idaho Statesman article about...

Ron Paul backers trying to "undermine" the Romney caucus victory;
I added my 2 cents...

"The Ron Paul supporters in Idaho are the only ones really interested in changing the corrupt system at the federal level. That is the reason they are proactive. Rank and file Republicans who back Romney are of the "everything's fine" philosophy. Well, everything is NOT fine.
If they would only listen to the message of REAL change that Ron Paul delivers we might have a chance to save our country from certain economic collapse."

here's the article...

Just Received This Email From John Tate

Dear Patriot,

I hear sometimes that some of you don't like our long emails, and that you would give more to short ones.

Well, here’s your chance!

Dr. Paul has asked the grassroots to raise $2 million by tomorrow night.

Go here to donate right away.

Right now, we are just under $400,000 short of that goal. Please do all you can today!

For Liberty,

John Tate
Campaign Manager

Again, I will say when BILL CLINTON was in his primaries

he only got about 200 people in SAN JOSE, CA.

I mean, can you believe that? I know, because I had campaigned for him & I witnessed it firsthand. We're talking the BAY AREA, folks, the BAY AREA!

So, for Ron Paul to have this many people pack an auditorium is, well, TOTALLY SHOCKING to me, just TOTALLY SHOCKING, and that isn't even the BAY AREA!!

And, it certainly makes a statement that so many Americans are truly fed up with the D.C. (dirty corrupt) politicians and shenanigans in the 2 party system.

If we could have a "fair" national election, I would say Dr. Paul would have an EXCELLENT chance of beating both Obummer & Romney, but I'm afraid with the 2 ex-GOLDMAN SACHS execs owning the national voting and totaling SOE machine, well, we're probably living already in a "Bananana Republic"...

Did anyone else notice that

Did anyone else notice that the article repeatedly states in each caption that "a crowd of 2,000..."

Paul is hugely popular in the West. I called this about 12 months ago. The debate in Simi Valley, Cali on March 5th has been canceled. Why?

I will be bringing my Camera and Tripod

To the breakfast with Ron Paul Wednesday in az.

If I make it to the after debate party I will do the same.

I will upload them on my new youtube channels

Can you or someone else

please try to take a series of shots of the crowd and stitch them together into a panorama with a program like Hugin (it's free)? http://hugin.sourceforge.net/

I've occasionally seen these for Ron Paul crowds, but we should try to get more of them. I think it would be cool to get some panoramas of Ron at the podium with the crowd in the background.

That same link says Santorum

That same link says Santorum drew 2000 in Boise. A quick search finds he drew 1300 at an arena with a 1000 overflow. How do so many people get so excited for someone who has no consistent message, and quite clearly lies through his teeth?

He was the first candidate to come to Idaho.

Is this true?

Idaho (32) – The race was over in 2008 when Idaho voted, so no idea what Romney’s strength was, but Ron Paul got 24% in a two man race with McCain. Also, Superdelegates do not have voting rights in Idaho. Unlike Alaska, Idaho’s rules will compel Gingrich and Santorum to possibly merge together per caucus rules. Voting is done until a candidate gets 50% of the vote for that county or until two names are left. In other words, if Gingrich or Santorum can get 50% across the state county caucuses as a whole of the statewide total, one of the two will most likely win all 32 delegates. Otherwise, if the statewide leader has <50% total, the delegates will be allocated proportionally. If done correctly, there is NO reason why Romney should win ANY delegates in ID. Just going off the CO numbers, they should be able to hit 50% combined in just about every county. Hopefully, both teams will realize this before it is too late. My guess is Santorum is in better shape here for the time being.

If this is true would Paul team up with Romney to get delegates?

do these numbers not translate into votes ?

Ron Pauls defeatism

Ok before you guys jump all over me i'm a big Ron Paul fan and even though im not american who becomes U.S. president affects the world in general. Heres the thing Ron has a great message but he never drives it home Its like hes become Apathetic to the media fronted idea that he cannot win the republican nomination. I would like to see more strength from Ron especially on network interviews He needs to state that he is the best choice for his country and drive that message home Especially when the interviewers continually ask questions about his competitors romney and santorum Can santorum defeat obama.... Will you support Romney as nominee etc etc.... He needs to be dismissive of these questions straight away and state He is the best choice He can save america Not them If the people love america Vote me If you love the staus quo vote them I can change america for the better not them I can beat obama not them He needs to be more agressive Passive and polite is not working Come on Ron Get the bit between your teeth and show that fire we all know you have being overly nice and passive isnt working You can still be nice but not overly it shows weakness. Be strong and dominant and nice but with conviction Thats what the people want from you Ron! Show them/us you can lead from the front! Do not be bowed by the media tactics and their dismissal of you. Dismiss your competitors! Keep them on track with your message. Tell them your the best Believe you are! Because guess what man YOU ARE THE BEST The best hope for america the best hope for the world! Take it up a notch in interviews Ron! Please! for all our sakes...

This bothers me too

But I think it's called humility. Ron is Ron, and we wouldn't love and trust him as much as we do if he were anyone else.

What is wrong with the Paul Campaign?

I was just on youtube looking at Paul's speech in Spokane, Washington. After ten minutes the speech is cut off and there's no other recording or audio of the speech anywhere on the internet. Why doesn't the campaign have a guy with a video camera and tripod in the audience recording every one of these speeches and posting them on youtube? $200 dollars and a volunteer! This is crazy. Paul is saying great things and no one is recording them! What the hell????

I've said the same thing before.

You would think there would be a film crew documenting all the events. This is history in the making.

I have offered my services to the campaign....

many times and the offer is still good.
I have been in the TV biz for over 25 yrs
and have shot thousands of hours for most of
the major networks.

I told several times to hire

I told several times to hire a camera man, for an event, it wil be like 300-400 dollar.. but i guess since my call is from Canada they dont give priority

There's a Blimp! I spot a RP blimp at 1 o' clock!

Ah... the memories.o)

that crowd looks soooo beautiful.

Hope the Doc was buoyed by all the support!

Go get'em! get'em! get'em! get'em! ID R3VOL!

If you explain it, they will come.

I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: "O Lord make my enemies ridiculous." And God granted it.

Check Out the Idaho Statesman Photos of the Rally

The Idaho Statesman has 31 Great Photos of the Century Link Arena Rally in Boise on Saturday afternoon.

The one with Dr. Paul, a woman and her birth certificate showing that Ron delivered her into the world 44 years ago is priceless.

All are FANTASTIC and could be used in future you tube videos to promote Ron Paul.

You can view them now at: www.idahostatesman.com

Great Slide Show

Does the arena only hold 2000? Seems like it was filled to capacity. The paper says the crowd was "about 2000" but another poster who was there said 45 minutes before Paul got there, it was half filled and there were already 3000 people there.

Really great photos!

Many are delightfully playful...someone had tied RP balloons onto the brass statues of children playing. Sweet.
Yes, I agree that the woman with her birth certificate was especially nice.

I believe it's this one:

"Jennifer Westerdoll, Boise, holds her birth certificate signed by Dr. Ron Paul, left, who delivered her in Lake Jackson, Texas in 1968. Presidential candidate Ron Paul stopped in Boise to Saturday Feb. 18, 2012 to gather support for his presidential campaign leading into Idaho's Republican caucus in March. How cool is the Doc!!! .o)
