CBS NEWS:Paul: U.S. "slipping into a fascist system"

AP) KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul warned the U.S. is "slipping into a fascist system" dominated by government and businesses as he held a fiery rally Saturday night upstaging established Republican Party banquets a short distance away.

The Texas congressman drew a couple thousand standing and chanting people to Kansas City's Union Station as the party's establishment dined on steak across the street at the Missouri GOP's annual conference. Kansas Republicans were holding a similar convention in a suburb across the state line.

Paul staged his rally near the nation's World War I museum, asserting that the U.S. got off track about 100 years ago during the era of President Woodrow Wilson, who led the nation through World War I and unsuccessfully advocated for the nation's involvement in a forerunner of the United Nations.

"We've slipped away from a true Republic," Paul said. "Now we're slipping into a fascist system where it's a combination of government and big business and authoritarian rule and the suppression of the individual rights of each and every American citizen."

"Has already slipped"

would be the more accurate description.

OFF TOPIC BUT: Watching the process as an

american exchange student in Europe, I feel very proud of the people at home really starting to wake up, not only die hard Ron Paul people, but the ordinary ones you know, I mean, nearly 3000 people attending Ron Paul's rallies, people taking up the fight with the GOP, taking their time to understand the system to become delegates, spreading knowledge.. Everyone's doing a fantastic job and I can't wait to get back home and do whatever I can to help.. This is a revolution for sure, and it's growing faster than they can censur it!!! And it's amazing that people around here know who Ron Paul is and what he stands for.

Haha " The revolution will not be televised, the revolution is here!

The war on drugs.

One of the Republican committeemen interviewed in the article mentioned Dr. Paul and "his pledge to the end nation's involvement in wars overseas and against drugs".

It occurred then to me that the war is not against drugs. It is a war against people, people who are addicted to drugs or who take drugs for medical reasons or to make themselves feel better.

Anyone would be against drugs that hurt people because we are people and we sympathise with each other and we hate to see anyone strung out on drugs because it destroys their humanity. This is why people are upset when we talk about ending the war on drugs.

We have to begin talking about ending the war on PEOPLE who are addicted to drugs or are taking them for medical reasons or for enjoyment or relaxation, like wine or beer.

This sick obsession with drugs has led to over a million people in prison whose only crime was that they are addicted to drugs. It must come to an end. It is destroying lives and it is destroying families i.e. the lives of wives and children who are completely innocent.

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

How did this little gem of writing slip through the MSM blackout

This is hands down THE most positive piece on Dr. Paul I have read since the nomination cycle began.

I am personally going to forward this one to ten friends.

Share, share, share this article!!!

Thx zforce for the excellent find!

CBS is our new friend !!

I registered on their site earlier, and thanked them for the great article.I also gave them some more idea's for future articles. We need to try and be present on this site and support it all we can.Keep an eye on the comments section, and help keep it clean. In other words,no profane language,or arguements. We are ambassadors for Dr.Paul, and everything we do,can reflect on him. Many older voters read their news, and we have an opportunity here, for some good coverage, and VOTES.I'm going to try and find out ,if we can submit pictures to them,so I may need some,if anyone has any.We need some good pictures of Dr.Paul with older voters, especially.Any photographers that will be attending upcoming rally's need to try and get those for us.When I was growing up(I'm 58 years old),CBS was the only news allowed on our TV,that was a strict rule because my parents didn't trust any other news source. So,needless to say,I'm thrilled that CBS is supporting us.They might be starting to realize, that RP could win,so they could be courting us.We'll see what happens.Looking at their site last night,it appeared to be pretty fair and balanced.

I don't think this is meant to be positive

I think they (the powers that be) are planning another push on the "Ron Paul = Crazy" meme will comeback. Many people I talk to get really irritated when you hit them right in the face with the truth. How can you call the US facist, they say, that's the Nazis, who rounded up Jews, and Shot dissenters.

They will ask why Ron Paul and his supporters hate america

It speaks the truth...

therefore,it's positive.

What a shame that reporting

What a shame that reporting the truth objectively is "positive"...

Its as clear as day

and I dont understand how more people dont see it.

Three reasons

1 - We use the internet

2 - We know what to look for

3 - They don't

... in either case, or both

They're either distracted by trivia, asleep, or paying attention to the wrong shit

That's why
