Journo to Dr. Paul: What If Parents are TOO DUMB to HomeSchool? RP: What If GOVT is Too Dumb to Teach?

This is WHY I LOVE the Doc:

Not only does he have the best philosophically poignant and deeply rooted things to say, but always has the best one-liners, too!

Da Boss!

"What if those parents are dumb?" a journalist asked Paul during press interviews.

"What if you get dumb government, and then you dumb down a whole society?" Paul quipped back. "And what if they teach you for 50 years the wrong economic policy, then we end up in a crisis that we have today. ... The idea that there would be less education or worse education is just a fallacy."

Ron Paul ignites crowd at Boise, Idaho rally

Government is too big, too powerful and unconstitutional, he says

“Governments needn't take care of us. They cannot make us better people, they cannot protect us from ourselves. We have to understand the individual liberty and responsibility.”

-GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul

BOISE - It's not the government's job to run people's lives, GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul said at his rally Saturday in Boise.

Roughly 2,500 people at the CenturyLink Arena cheered loudly, many holding signs and wearing "Ron Paul" pins, as Paul articulated the changes he'd make if elected.

"... The role of government is to defend liberty, it's not to run the economy. It's not to run your personal life, and it's certainly not to police the world," Paul, a U.S. representative from Texas, said...

SCHOOL SUCKS: The American Way

Don't let the title fool you. This video is actually about how government-run schooling contributed to the rise of socialism, imperialism and eventually fascism in Germany between the 1890s and 1940s.

Wow! This video left me speechless.

I am now ever more grateful I was Homeschooled!

Thanks for posting it!

Donate as much as possible to the campaign!
There are 850,000 people that like Dr. Paul on Facebook, if everyone donated just $5 a week then he would have $4,250,000 every week! DONATE!!!

Powerful Stuff

Lots of history jammed into eight minutes.

That is a great video!

I've read all of Gatto's stuff on schooling, but this video is concise and gets right to the point.

Cuimhnigh orm, a Dhia, le haghaidh maith.

75% of this country love public schools

They love the free babysitting but are getting upset lately, the free baby sitters are not doing their jobs to their expectations. Teachers now just hand out the books and assignments and tell them to go home and ask their parents how to do it. The free babysitters are not teaching them anything at all. Anyone with an 8th grade education can now perform as well as any teacher.Handing out books with no further mental effort is easy,It should be a minimum wage job at best.

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

I homeschool

my two sons and I'm the first to admit I don't know everything. It's impossible for anyone (parents or teachers) to know everything but there are these places called librarys, zoos, science centers, national landmarks, museums, art gallerys, heritage centers, gardens and if you still have questions there is this thing called the internet. I got fed up with public schools when my children were in 1st & 2nd grade and it was the best thing we ever did.

Dr Paul is right- as usual.

Here's the worst-case scenario, bottom line:

Home schooling + dumb parent = dumb kid.

Government school system + dumb government = dumb generation.

"Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it's realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy." - Dr. Ronald Ernest Paul

This is such a great answer,

This is such a great answer, and makes me proud to support Dr. Paul! He's absolutely right. My four children will never be institutionalized within government schools, and will grow up to be successful, free-thinking individuals. My wife has dyslexia, yet taught all of my children to read before they turned five, oldest and youngest were reading at three! And the above comment about homeschooling parents becoming more intelligent as they educate their children is SPOT on!

how beautiful.

thank you for sharing that.

yup, I too could never foresee my kids ever being indoctrinated at a statist prison colony, especially not after knowing what I've learned over the many yrs.

to do so would be to vomit my Red Pill, and become a Blue Pill junkie.

"Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it's realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy." - Dr. Ronald Ernest Paul

There is no better feeling....

than guiding a child in their education. Homeschooling is really the ONLY way to go. IMHO, parents and groups of parents can help produce a more informed, intelligent generation of Americans than any government could provide.

Get the kids out of the system so they can learn something. Their creativity is being held captive in a box.

The problem is, not many people have the time for this for so many reasons. The parents are caught in the system, therefore the next generation is as well.

Dr Paul is right, and we must take the initiative as individuals to reclaim our freedom....

and reclaim our future.

Freedom is the answer !!

Time to INVESTIGATE the investigators of 9/11. PROSECUTE the prosecutors. EXPOSE the cover-up.

My Mom

only has a high school diploma and she homeschooled me all 12 grades. So far, I've been on the A-B honor role every semester in college. I'm not bragging, just sayin' homeschooling does work if the parents really care.

yup,

just an inconvenient fact that statists love omitting, whenever they can.

proportionally there's no doubt that HomeSchoolers graduate more Ivy Leaguers than public schools, by mere fact of their small overall numbers alone.

a testament to their efficacy I'd say, though depending on what one may think of Ivy League schools; good when they graduate the likes of Tom Woods at Harvard and Columbia, embarrassing when they graduate the likes of GWB from Yale & oBomBa from Harvard.

Too Dumb?

Home schooling your children will make you smarter, not just your children.

Speaking of learning... I'm interested to know what "A-B--B-A" means to you?

Screen Name (continued)

I forgot something.

The word as is a comparison that can mean same.

I said it is same without explaining it. When as does mean same, the things compared have conditions that are the same even if their subjects are inverse to each other.

Because you asked about my screen name, I hope the comment and the one below it didn't dodge you. I hope you read the first one and get to read this one. If I said anything confusing, just let me know. I'll try to sweep away the mess.

My Screen Name's Meaning: Balance

Although more time and space are required for me to detail my screen name's meaning, I intended it to depict balance.

If I could have used colons instead of hyphens and a dash when I signed up to be a DPer, I would have. In logic the colon is understood as "is to" and the double colon is "as," meaning same.

My screen name reads this is to that as that is to this. As well, it encapsulates a prosaic poem I wrote a few years ago. That poem is about how I think, how I think man thinks and how I think life operates.

Since having become a DPer and if I signed up for the DP today, I have two reasons I would make my screen name ABBA. One, it's nearly hassle free to type and, two, still its invitation to inquire would be apparent to the inquisitive person, a person who would wonder, Does that screen name refer to something other than the 1970s band of the same name? on his way to asking me its meaning.

In the latter activity, I gather that person would be closer to understanding my commentary than someone who doesn't understand my screen name's meaning. Or, closeness aside, that he would understand my commentary because he understands my thought process, which is something I aim to convey when I write regardless of the reader knowing my screen name's meaning. Writing, as is talking, after all, is thinking expressed.

One last word on my screen name: 1) out of balance: bad 2) in balance: good.

What's A-B--B-A mean to you?

Parents who decide to homeschool

their children will do WHATEVER it takes to get them a proper education.

Their are very few parents who homeschool with the intent to hinder their children's education or adversely affect their futures.

What an ignorant question to ask of Ron Paul and what a great retort he gave.

Bravo!
