Billionaire Peter Thiel Gives Another $1.7 Million to 'Endorse Liberty' Super PAC

We're in the money! Peter Thiel gives Endorse Liberty Super PAC another $1.7 million

Billionaire Peter Thiel has poured $1.7 million more into a super PAC supporting presidential candidate Ron Paul, bringing his total contributions to $2.6 million.

Reports filed with the Federal Election Commission today show that Thiel, a Silicon Valley investor, made the additional contributions to the Endorse Liberty PAC in the first half of January.

Thiel, a libertarian, is the single largest donor to the PAC.

the article

... is crap. but i'm not sure Lysa wants to use the article as proof for anything....

however, i got curious what kind of person this peter is and found an 18 min video interview with him and the co-writer of his book "the blue print". it's embedded in this article: http://techcrunch.com/2011/11/21/peter-thiel-new-yorker-grump/

GERMANY for LIBERTY !

Endorse Liberty Pack is a noble cause

As a veteran, I think what Endorse Liberty is doing is probably the most important work to me being delivered.

If I had a million dollars to my name it would go toward that message. Thank God for people like Mr. Thiel! We need more people to make sacrifice for this country for important causes such as this.

Many of you need to get a clue. People are dying because of our foreign policy. Dying! Does that even register in your brains.

Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

+1. I do not see any problem either...

... For the cause of Liberty to accept money support from a person of Peter Thiel's character.

This guy could probably do even more, but he does show he cares, IMO, and I don't think he is trying to "buy" Ron Paul and/or our cause in any way.

"Cyril" pronounced "see real". I code stuff.

their advertising could have already made things worse...

hence not helping and making things worse using their money.

BaneMaler, I dont think

BaneMaler,
I dont think anyone is against the message that endorse liberty is promoting, they are for it. I think the issue arises because certain people are convinced that the PAC is a conspiracy out to establish some new world order. Its ridiculous....but what can you do?

Old news

I know it was just reported to the FEC, but contributions in early January have likely been long-since spent. The last Endorse Liberty press release is January 27th. I'm afraid they are probably dormant and not doing us much good at the moment.

Still, it's encouraging that some wealthy individuals thought Ron was a good investment in spreading the liberty message. If we win a couple caucus states they may think it worth plowing some more money in. This is going to be a long primary season.

Screw where the money

is coming from! If we want to make it to Tampa we are going to need the funds! Get em Ron!

This Ideology is a Problem

Not caring where the money came from has enabled a tiny few to buy off our government and use it to loot the rest of us - legally.

Personally, I thank Mr. Thiel for his contribution to a related SuperPAC and hope that he does so because he cherishes a government dedicated solely to the preservation of his liberty and the rule of law, and bound by the Constitution.

Money is just a tool, and like any tool can be used justly or un-justly. While it is prudent to guard against potential injustice, it is not prudent to cry wolf unnecessarily. So keep an eye on this particular PAC and its fruits, but there's no point jumping to premature conslusions.

As an aside, remember that donating to a SuperPAC itself cannot bind any politician, because the politician has no control over what the SuperPAC does or does not do. Given Ron Paul's history, I am confident that he is as immune to corruption now as he ever has been. If I am correct in this assumption, Mr. Thiel's intentions are irrelevant anyway.

came in to read some constructive comments

end up with more conspiracy crap

stick around

The real important stuff won't be here until the Reptilian overlords login and begin to issue instructions. Then, all will be made clear.

JPS ....

.... you're killin' me here buddy .... I just cleaned my laptop off this afternoon .... now I gotta do it all again .... :-)

always remember

There is nothing wrong with your laptop. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. We can roll the image, make it flutter. We can change the focus to a soft blur or sharpen it to crystal clarity. For the next hour, sit quietly and we will control all that you see and hear.

Agreed. Most of these

Agreed. Most of these comments remind me why I don't advise new(er) supporters to come here. Just stupid. We're now at the point where we're trying to find fault with a guy for giving a pro-Paul SuperPac 1.7 million dollars. It's now official, most of these guys are obviously just negative jerks with nothing better to do than complain and criticize anything and everything. I'm so tired of it. I'd love to be able to send the people new to Paul, the campaign, or even politics but I can't because these morons have already got me burned with two people and I refuse to lose more Ron votes due to them. Such a sad shame.

I'm afraid your comment is

I'm afraid your comment is somewhat less than constructive.

sorry for pissing off your world view

.

You Cannot - And I Doubt It

.

who's going to be in need of desperate life in the first place

to try to get into your head, a better question.

less than constructive comment to non-constructive origination is non constructive.. nice circular logic

i guess if you keep spewing bullsht, everyone that responds is automatically an idiot

your whole argument consists of 'but his name is on a fuking list!' *sits and waits for intelligent response*

just goes to show paul movement isn't immune to stupids

we've been pulling back the curtain for a while now since the paul movement started.. it's getting like trying to find WMDs in iraq at this point.. we still haven't been able to spot the evilly grinning figure with giant horns on his head.. the world just seems to be going ok with regular explanations based on power play by individuals, doesn't it? no giant evil figure with alien-equivalent intellect manipulate every individual on this globe thus far that we know.

doug wead was very close to bush and he tried to explain from a mental aspect of someone who fell from power < http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3CP0lN8MRE >as to why the bush family was obsessed with invading iraq. oh, but nope, doug is a spy too, co-intel-pro whatever, you know. everybody who dares create even a ripple in your sole-conspiracy world view is a fuking alien clone with micro chip inside his head

looked under the rock--nope. try looking under the sand next time, and keep your head there.

jstellar, Thank you for

jstellar,
Thank you for saying what I wanted to say. Honestly, it seems like these detractors see a conspiracy arround every corner. The man gave a large sum of money to a PAC that has run great ads in support of Dr. Paul and will continue to do so. My question to them is: If everything is so corrupt and the BG has control over everything; then if Dr. Paul does get elected will that be a conspiracy also? If so I'm not sure I could trust you since you are part of the conspiracy. I guess thats what happens when you have already conviced yourself that everything is a conspiracy.

some people actually believe that about paul being in on it

you can't believe how mad i was when i read comments saying paul might be some agent sent on behalf of the federal reserve as pressure relief valve.. forget it, not worth delving into.

Then, why be against Goldman Sachs?

They are also bilderberg group insiders like Thiel.

jj

I'm not "against" Goldman

I'm not "against" Goldman Sachs. If someone there has a conscious/ understands free market economics and wants to donate money to RP then I'm all for it. I know a few people who work there, and despite what you may think everyone who works there is not a three-headed beast. I'm not talking about the company itself, thats another story for another time. I don't think Mitt is some evil person who is conspiring to steal from the rest of us to help Goldman Sachs. I just think he has subscribed to bad economics like the rest of the country. Goldman Sachs benefits from the bad economics, thus they contribute to the person who espouses those bad economics (they obviously think it is good economics). I'm not against GS, I just see their monetary endorsement of Romney, IN ADDITION to Romney's bad economics as just an indicator that he does not understand the free market principles we need. I don't usually like to address the conspiracy theories on here because everyone has a right to their own opinion and its not my place to comment. But when you question the morality/ core motivations of a man who has given alot of his money to help our cause, I cannot stay silent and let you spew nonsense.

a GS supporter

GS that rule 1% and Fed Reserve Bank, hence unknowingly Romney's ally:

jj

hahahahaha....

Like I said, when you have already convinced yourself that everything is a conspiracy that is all you will find. If you had read my comment you would have seen I am not an apologist for GS. Hence me saying that GS is a different story for a different time. I am against GS committing fraud or other crimes. I am against them using the government for unfair advantage. I want to end the federal reserve and have sound money. However, I do not over generalize about people, especially since I know a few people who work there and they are far from corrupt. In fact I actually almost have one of them convinced to vote for Dr. Paul.

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity

You are correct about their being a conspiracy, but it is a conspiracy of bad ideas, and a conspiracy of stupid people in positions of power who have been deluded by their egotism. Every inside individual reassuring the others that they are righteous and have the moral high ground while dismissing outside voices of dissent; not an organized conspiracy....just stupidity

While that article is correct to question why no one at GS has been punished due to the mortgage crisis. Its reasoning is incorrect. SEC regulators are inept, it would be naive to think that they could ever find the smoking gun (whether there is govt corruption or not). This makes it ever more important to make sure that a true free market is in place beforehand so that the inherent regulations in the free market are able to prevent this type of thing from being so wide spread. Fraud/corruption of that type is inevitable due to the flaws of people, but the free market would have stopped that from becoming any kind of widespread problem.

whoever said there was any conspiracy theory?

you are making it up as you want GS money. google thiel and bilderberger comes up and you are the one calling this organization conspiracy.

jj

You didn't say the word

You didn't say the word conspiracy, but you are going around questioning the advertising of Endorse Liberty PAC and Thiel saying the advertising might be purposefully hurting things already and that Thiel isn't donating it to help liberty. When in fact he is donating it to a pro Ron Paul Super PAC that has put some really compelling pro Ron Paul ads on the air. The man gave alot of his own money to help our cause. This is not his first donation. He donated to the same PAC earlier and with that money (and other money) they have been putting ads on tv and other Ron Paul promotion on the internet. This was just a follow up donation. I am personally thankful for that. I don't know about you.

Good cop, Bad cop

But then again they would never achieved the heights they have without being flexible.

This is great for Dr. Paul

I'm so disappointed in many of the comments in the thread. Would you prefer he gave it to one of the other candidates? If you were making phone calls and going door to door you would have a little more control over your typing. Thank you Peter Thiel for supporting Dr. Paul and Liberty for all.

Thx to establishment people....

for supporting a pac - that is what you are saying. why automatically assume any money donated goes to help liberty?

jj

ugh... pacs suck

ugh... pacs suck

they may suck but they are

they may suck but they are there for all candidates. Until they are taken away we need to use them just our competition uses them.
