Rugged Solar-Powered and Waterproof iPhone Case is a Backpacker's Dream

TreeHugger tells us about the new battery-charged, solar-powered, waterproof iPhone case for people that enjoy the great outdoors.
Strangely, the company behind the new case, Snow Lizard Products, is asking for money on Kickstarter to help get this to market. If you give $100, you get a case (normally $125). I suppose if you give less than that, you just get the moral satisfaction of having contributed to the development of the iPhonosphere.
Is this something that would actually come in handy for people living in the sticks or for divers?
