Heard on the radio today gas is expensive.. get this- because the economy is good.

Last week they said it was expensive because of Iran.. Next week... fill in the blank.

I have been in the Petroleum business pretty much my whole life. My father owned two gas stations and a grocery store the day I was born. I was raised in it and know the games. Trust me the oil companies are very good at inventing reasons why fuel should cost more. Including false flags. My first exposure was rationing during the early 70s. They employ and pay people to come up with excuses just like an ad agency comes up with jingles. Problem is the government will not let us do anything about it short of staying home and boycotting. Very few have the will or intelligence to do this successfully.

Energy, food, and other fast turn over items...

Are the first to be hit by inflation. They are always hit the hardest, fastest and show the best signs of the direction of the economy.

It is why they took them out of the CPI, because to eliminate them hides inflation.

Anything that has a fast turn over, and/or short shelf life. (I could go into the details of why but I will skip that).

Within 6 months of an inflationary move (i.e. raising the debt ceiling), you will experience the initial inflationary effects, namely gas and food.

After another 6 months to a year the inflationary spike in energy or grocery costs will move into other sectors.

This 2 year lag between what they do and what they cause, is what allows them to pretend like they don't understand and what fools the people into thinking inflation is an act of god.

Btw, not all inflation comes from the government. Much of it comes from the banking sector as well. However, the banking sector also creates deflation and therefore has the potential to balance over time. The government does not create deflation at all and therefore it never balances.

Sign of Money Printing

Speaking to the choir, rising gas prices are the result of insane money printing at the Fed and very little else. Yes government regulation of gasoline production and thoughtless intervention in the Mideast has some impact here, but to anyone who has taken the time to think about the massive amount of printing it must take to hold interest rates at 0 percent for several years, the cause of higher gas prices (and food, housing, health care, education etc) is obvious.

What I can't comprehend is how 80 percent of the politically active people in this country can't see that and are ready to throw away their vote on Romney etc. Can the Fox, NBC, and PBS lies really be that effective?

I also heard this on CNN

I also heard this on CNN today from Allison Kosik so I guess they are using the same script.
How anyone can believe that high gas prices are a sign of the economy picking up beats me.
If anything the economy will be back in the toilet once people start limiting expenses again.

Cass Sunstine is that you behind this
