Can you say Nullification? Supreme Court Considers Delaying Health Care Ruling To 2014

http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/02/supreme-court-con...

Unbelievable. Why so late in the day? If I recall, most of ObamaCare will have been implemented by then, making it much harder to rescind, depending on who makes up the new Congress and whose President. 2014!? That's the next mid-term elections!

This SCOTUS decision reminded me of Tom Wood's "Nullification" speech to the CSPOA: "When all 3 branches of govt have failed you, Thomas Jefferson gave us Nullification, a tool to be used as a last resort."

It's time for the states to drag out Nullification again, dust it off, and start using it. Screw POTUS, SCOTUS, and Congress.

At least there is a bright side

Ron Paul might (will) be president in 2014, and he will probably have appointed a couple Supreme Court justices by then, so they will actually vote constitutionally. :)

Seems to be an organization of merit on this issue. Worth a look.

Would like to hear feedback on them.

This is good-

thanks. My only exposure to jury nullification has been the odd article here and there. Just subscribed to their Tweeter, FB and YT. Lot of articles and vids. Will have some catching up to do for sure!

edit: already found this great vid on FB analysing Romney's debate comments on the NDAA. Basically asking the American People to forget the Constitution, Treason, and trust him to identify the boogie-man and not to abuse the powers given the President under NDAA:

The 16th Amendment?

One of the article's commenters says that "if the AIA applies, the mandate is in fact a tax, and the 16th Amendment wrecks any argument that Congress lacks authority to levy it."

Can someone please explain? Thanks!

there is a lot of information

there is a lot of information regarding amendment 16 and its validity. but besides that argument. there is a LOT of information on this site about the classification of "taxpayer" and "non taxpayer" as well, i beleive the distinction between a U.S. citizen and a citizen of the Sovereign States (making you a non-resident-alien) take a look http://www.famguardian.org/TaxFreedom/Instructions/3.14Chang...

hope i helped

Alliance,

here's some of what I remember about the 'taxing' discussions we had where I worked (I'm retired).

The IRS was put in charge of enforcing the mandate.

Employees would be required to get insurance, the type of coverage would be dictated by the govt, and it would be deducted through paychecks as proof of insurance when they filed their tax returns; hence the 16th amend-income tax-is in play. (And of course, Uncle Sam has provided for fines and penalties for inadequate or no participation.)

Moreover, companies that provide or help employees with their insurance (like mine did-50%) would have to provide the type of coverage dictated by the govt. as 'adequate'. (Obviously, the young and healthy with no insurance were now going to be forced to carry full blown coverage, most of which they won't need), or pay a fine.

Naturally, with ever rising health costs, it didn't take long for companies like mine to figure out that providing insurance for employees would be a hell of a lot more expensive than paying the fine. We anticipated that if this mandate goes thru, companies would drop insurance coverage altogether.

Bottom line, it is all about more govt revenue-thru taxation- not healthcare.

wow-I was so pissed off

just 15 min in-LOL! Epstein, esq, and Woo, esq, really did a great job trying to impress the viewers with their esoteric POTUS, SCOTUS, CONOTUS wealth of legal knowledge. They were really having a blast, but as an individual whose going to be affected, I wasn't impressed. All I heard was we are screwed unless we and our individual states get it together and start Nullifying this State sponsored B.S. Obamacare clearly has nothing to do with healthcare, but rather, govt. revenue.

They both chuckle that after the Govt. collects our taxes, the states then have to beg for their share back and that's when they're "Bribed": You want some of your money back, Texas, to put out your wild-fires? You have to do this for my Party first.

Forget seceeding, Texas, just nullify the 16th and 17th amends-for starters. I bet other states would follow, except the few hopelessly dependent, bankrupt ones, naturally.

I'd call that a Revolution.

What May I Ask Is CONOTUS?

Thanks.
