97% of Terminal Cancer Patients Previously Had This Dental Procedure...

Posted By Dr. Mercola | February 18 2012 |

Do you have a chronic degenerative disease? If so, have you been told, "It's all in your head?"

Well, that might not be that far from the truth… the root cause of your illness may be in your mouth.

There is a common dental procedure that nearly every dentist will tell you is completely safe, despite the fact that scientists have been warning of its dangers for more than 100 years.

There is a significant fraction of truth but presentation is fkd

There is a significant fraction of truth in the article but presentation is screwed up.

It is true that root canals act as slow releasers of infections.

The living body has two ways to cope with it: tooth either has further inflammation or starts ignoring it.

In the first case immune system becomes overactive and start fighting your own body. Usually slow infection (and it does not need to be a tooth, it could be tonsillitis, appendicitis, sinusitis) are exacerbating immune system and body acquires so called auto-immune diseases. There is a wide range of them.

On the other hand, human body can learn to dull immune system, in such cases cancerous cells do not get destroyed at the right time.

Control?

What is the percentage of people without terminal cancer who have had the procedure?

Edit - I just noticed this thread has been exhumed from 2012. It's still errant nonsense.

Do the math. This is akin to saying 97% of terminally ill cancer patients drove a vehicle and had a state issued driver's license.

15 million root canals are done every year

thats 5% of the population. The probability that somebody has one is at least 80% across their lifetime (my method is poor; calculate the probablity of not having one for 30 years 0.95^30=21%). Not so big a difference then between folks with cancer and without.

Complete Horse Crap

I am a dentist who does not advocate for fluoride to be placed in the water supply. I was on the ballot in Memphis, TN as a delegate for Ron Paul. I passionately read economic, political and issues dealing with foreign policy every night. I am a truth seeker, an advocate for peace and liberty for all of man-kind.

I say this article is complete CRAP. What percentage of terminal cancer patients also drank milk? I've saved many-a-tooth with root canal treatments. It's quite simple in principle... removing inflamed or necrotic tissue that is infected with bacteria. If I didn't see the benefits so frequently, then I'd be much less opinionated on the subject. Not only are they very valuable, but they are minimally invasive... at least compared to the alternative of extraction (removal of) the tooth.

I have to disagree

Horse crap can be made into compost. Great for your garden.

This article is useless.

me 3X

me 3X

Then I guess

you have terminal cancer three times. Danged unlucky.

I love that tag line.

So true.

Typical causation vs

Typical causation vs correlation fallacy nonsense. I bet you 100% of people who got terminal cancer also ate breakfast at some point in their lives. BREAKFAST CAUSES CANCER! See what I did there? Don't be so gullible people. When you post garbage like this here it makes everything else you believe in suspect.

So why did you bump up a post

So why did you bump up a post from 2012?

+1 for you victoria!

i, too, wonder why some old posts get bumped back into existence with no NEW and RELEVANT info added!

LOL...this is great!

LOL...this is great!

Resist the temptation to feed the trolls.

All day long for 2 weeks this article has been bumped

Moderators, if you exist, now is the time to remove this article.

This is the night before Super Tuesday, and if any new visitors come to the DailyPaul, they see this stupid pseudoscience. Again. For the 2nd straight week. It reflects horribly on everyone.

i LOVE Dr. Mercola

Back in 2004 i listened to an audio series by Paul Chek "You are what you Eat" and it was my turning point in my conditioning. Dr. Check referenced Dr. Mercola many times and i have come to understand my gluten intolerance because of these two gentlemen! i have never been the same.... great post!!! i hope DPers will come to see this information and benefit from it. thanks for posting/linking to the healthiest website on the planet!! weewt!

I am a human becoming, help me to become.

What does This have to do with Ron Paull?

Let this crap on the the main page (with 10 votes?) and people will start posting chain letters here.

Now it's about the Constitution and the fight to defend it.

you will notice its posted in HEALTH

and it made its way to the top because it is indeed relevant. we want liberty lovers to live long and prosper right???!?!?

Pickles

Of everyone born in 1875, 100% of the people who ate pickles are dead. Pickles cause death.

If "a" then "b" is always a slippery slope. Linking something common like dental procedures to some other event is always easily refuted.

I was going to write something snarky...

but your post is perfect.
+20 if I could.

well... garbage or not, i can

well... garbage or not, i can attest to the fact that my root canal has been infected for a very long time. ive only recently found a little syringe like contraption that allows me to actually reach under the gumline to attempt to sterilize at least the surrounding gumline. I wouldnt be surprised, and have actually suspected for a while now, that the whole crown was essentially a bacteria warehouse and that id likely be better off (though perhaps slightly less attractive) just getting it yanked.

will have to look into this whole periodontal ligament infection business as well.

It may be sensational people, but its at least worth considering. some people have made some good counter-arguments, but the majority of response seems to be "this is bullshit. ........ (no supporting facts or evidence to the contrary)".

I wrote a comment in this

I wrote a comment in this thread on some of the main points in extracting a tooth properly. The comment's near the thread's end. If you decide to have your tooth extracted, make sure it's done correctly or else your health will pay the price.

I mentioned a few sources to check out in that comment, too. The Internet's your friend, too. Curezone(dot)com is a good place to start. A few key words to search for: osteonecrosis, osteomyelitis and cavitation. Those three terms are conditions of gangreneous bone, rotted bone because blood flow is compromised, giving rise to bacteria problems. You might want to insert "jaw," "jaw bone," "jawbone," or "dentistry" in your searches to home in on those conditions dentally. Maybe try "gangrenous jaw bone" too. Learn what you can. Good luck, buddy.

Get to a good dentist

Get to a good dentist (obviously not the dentist who did the root canal) and get that sorted out. It could literally be the death of you if you don't.

Why has this garbage been up for over 5 days?

As soon as it disappears from the main page it gets bumped again. It has been on the main page non-stop for 5 days and has only 13 likes. This is pseudoscience that has nothing to do with Ron Paul. In fact, I would argue that this reflects poorly on the liberty movement. Enough is enough. Please let this thread die.

(I realize I bumped it up again by typing this but someone would have saved it anyway no doubt. Something fishy is going on.)

It was up

when the daily paul was on maintenance, and i was engraged, lol. i had to refute it and the posters that believe it without even looking at it's sources.

It really should be moved, I dont like seeing it on the front page, but i also don't like people that are just attacking, and not arguing the content, just accepting it.

Sorry, I'm not going to waste my time

You're just the type, if substance smacked you in the face, you'd still be contrary and deny it. Besides there's plenty of substance out there if you open your mind and look for it. You just don't want to accept the fact that the ADA along with AMA & the FDA are there to protect the corporations who profit from keeping us sick. Their studies can't be trusted as they are based on manipulated stats geared to their advantage to get their product on the market.

GOOGLE: G. Edward Griffin/WOrld Without Cancer -or- Michael Taylor/FDA/Monsanto -or- Sherry Tenpenny -or- Codex Ailamentarius -or- Donald Rumsfeld/aspartame/rico -or- Max Gerson -or- Weston Price -or- Pharmacist Ben Fuchs - just a few

I've been researching this stuff for the past 15 years....It's true!

Does any of that

refer to root canals and cancer? You can post all the red herring's you want, appeal to your 15 years of research (on root canals and cancer?), but I will only speak on this issue, and the article..which is false, misleading and self-debunking.

https://twitter.com/#!/Agonzo1

Thanks for posting!

Very very interesting!

Maybe an interesting study...

...would be to see what percentage of the people who dislike this thread have had root canals. :)
