Rick, meet Mr. Santorum of 1995: "I Was Basically Pro-Choice All My Life, Until I Ran For Congress"

Well now, how about that?

Once a RINO, always a RINO.

Serial Hypocrites are a Dime a Dozen in the GOP.

Will the American electorate wake up from all the shenanigans, in time for the One who's always been Right, and always been Honest and Trustworthy?

Will America choose Dr. Paul, in time to restore the Republic?

Start your clocks folks...

with photocopied evidence to boot:

Santorum In '95: 'I Was Basically Pro-Choice All My Life, Until I Ran For Congress'

Santorum Pro Choice

WASHINGTON -- Prior to entering public office, former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum was a self-admitted pro-choice Republican unwilling to dabble in the cultural conservative politics that now defines his presidential campaign, a review of old campaign documents and interviews shows.

This past week, the Pennsylvania Republican-turned-GOP primary frontrunner made a number of eyebrow raising statements meant to demonstrate an uncompromising posture on social issues. He's questioned President Obama's theology, argued that prenatal testing is a form of eugenics, and stated his opposition for contraception funding.

...But Santorum didn't always have such conviction on social policy. In his first run for office in 1990, his campaign put out an issue statement on abortion that, by today's standards, would put him among the moderates of the GOP. Abortion, he wrote, requires "a sensitivity to the genuine concerns of both sides." While "government must be on the side of human life" he recognized that " it is very difficult to criminalize any activity once a large portion of society comes to see it as a 'right.'"

WASHINGTON -- Making his first run for Congress in the early 1990s, this candidate promised not to be a Reagan Republican, fashioned himself a progressive conservative, said he was impartial on unions and stayed vague on abortion rights.

It's a description that fits Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor whose past political pursuits in that state have weighed down his current presidential ambitions. But in this case, it applies to former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, whose own political origins have been explored in far less depth.

In his circuitous path to the top of the primary polls, Santorum has presented himself as the pure conservative alternative to Romney. But an extensive review of newspaper archives and interviews with officials involved in his successful 1990 congressional race against Rep. Doug Walgren (D-Pa.) suggests that Santorum was cut from a similar GOP cloth as his current adversary...

The problem is

how these people will change their principles just to get elected. This man is being touted as THE Conservative choice because he claims to be pro-life/pro-family/pro-marriage. Mr. squeaky clean and all of that - I see it with the christians I encounter - it is rather difficult to be around.

Character and integrity matter.

*** Rick Santorum voted for Title X funding, which gives hundreds of millions in taxpayer money to Planned Parenthood - the nation's largest abortion provider.

*** Rick Santorum endorsed pro-abortion liberals like Arlen Specter over pro-life conservatives multiple times.

*** Santorum's own PAC raised funds from grassroots pro-lifers all over the country and handed them to pro-abortion candidates.

And he has the audacity to call out Ron Paul during a debate and dis Ron Paul's pro-life record?

“The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.” Ron Paul - The Revolution

Sounds like Ron paul's stance

This makes him look better.

Hmmm... that first piece of

Hmmm... that first piece of 'photocopied evidence' I can't help but to agree with for the most part, and I think it's pretty comparable to things Paul has been saying lately.

that's why it's a flip-flop

check out the photocopy example below that link.

besides, it's not as if anyone in DC is not truly UNaware of what the "right thing to do" is. it's just that they NEVER do, unless your last name's "Paul."

they always pander, demagogue, and treat their own constituency as fools. worst part is, like any good PR hack, eventually they BS so much daily, they end up believing their own PR as the truth, and cannot distinguish their own carefully crafted bubble vs. the time that they were once conscious of the fact that they were intentionally LYING for political expediency.

and, this is just #23,087,584th time that a politician isn't who he advertises to be.

I for one, am sick and tired of psychotic, murderous holier-than-thou-do as I say NOT as I do-neocon RINO hack sycophantic turd, seeking more power to rule the rest of the Free Humanity with.

especially considering the Fact that someone like Dr. Paul CAN exist; the man is a testament to the fact that one can be honorable, honest to thyself and to others, sincerely practice what one preaches, and still be successful at it, even if it's taken the rest of the world 40yrs to catch up to you.

I hate to say it, but he kinda cured my apathy, as well as soured me again, as I cannot foresee ANYONE in the near future being able to live up to his level of integrity. He's just a man of his time. They literally don't make them like they used to anymore. Worse, WHEN he becomes the POTUS, I'm afraid he'll make the office of the Presidency and the Govt as a whole trustworthy!

Yup, our Champ's a living, breathing, walking paradox: the only statesman alive today who abhors the State and everything it stands for. A man who runs on a platform of shrinking the govt down to its intended Constitutional confines, restore honesty, dignity and faith to an institution that is deserved NONE of it. A Man who has cured apathy for MILLIONS, yet raised the bar so high, may as well have never cured us at all!

LOL

He's an American original and someone who could've ONLY happened in America, just when we need him the most. He'll forever be remembered as THE Man most responsible for kick starting the American Revolution 2.0.

No matter what happens, he WILL be remembered. And frankly each and every one of us is HIS legacy. okay, enough with the verging on creepy.

but, yeah. That's how important I believe the man to be. Not in some cult of personality way, but more like how one would view your most inspiring mentor. Not a 'father figure.' A mentor whom you deem worthy to help you with your intellectual and philosophical journey. The man who lit the spark.

oh that gosh dang spark, though...
