*EXPats are a demographic primed and waiting for Ron Paul*

Dr. Paul could make serious headway with Americans living abroad. Yes there is always some ridiculousness with how the voting works, but set that aside for a moment.

I have family that are Swiss-Americans living in Switzerland. All across Europe the Embassies have waiting lines to cancel American citizenships. Why? Because Americans living abroad are expected to pay income tax to America in addition to the income tax of the current country they reside in.

Dr. Paul can make waves saying: "America is supposed to be the freest and most prosperous country in the world. Yet we have Americans abroad lining up to get rid of their citizenship. What in the world is going on? We are chasing away prosperity with our insane tax system. It is a sad day when Americans are lining up to get rid of their citizenship."

My Swiss-American family knows I'm crazy about Ron Paul, so when they came home last weekend for my sister's wedding they had one question for me: Will he end the income tax on foreign Americans? I told them he doesn't believe in the income tax at all, so yes!

They promptly told me that hands down they would vote for Ron Paul because of his desire to end the income tax. No other issue mattered to them (and I can assure you they tend to be a bit progressive).

Americans abroad for Ron Paul!!!

I just got back from Cost Rica with my FOX WATCHING UNCLE

I just got back from a 16 day visit to Costa Rica. It was awesome. HOWEVER I was there with my Mom and MY FOX WATCHING UNCLE!

Good Lord - it was so horrible to watch him. Down in Costa Rica it was hugely apparent to everyone around that my uncle was not even talking sense - that he was just parroting stuff that he didn't even know what he was talking about.

Most people in Costa Rica didn't want to talk politics - that's why they are there in the first place - but all the FOX WATCHER uncle wanted to do was talk about how screwed up America was because of Obama - like its ONLY Obama's fault and his delivery was so aggressive and FOX-like it was scary.

People at the bars (were he would ask them to switch the channel to FOXNews on the TV) would move away from him. He started to spend a lot of time, later in the trip, in his room just watching the TV searching for FOX!!! This uncle is literally, completely addicted to FOX.

anyhow
I had a "I SUPPORT RON PAUL STICKER" on my bag
I had a lot of people recognize it. But again most did not really want to even talk politics which was QUITE refreshing I must say.

Costa Rica is beautiful. Its more expensive now than the last time I was there. Like a lot more expensive for food. But EVERYTHING is up for sale. Se Vende signs up on EVERYTHING. I guess that real estate bubble hit them pretty hard too - what with all the American's gobbling up everything during the bubble.

The trip home was kinda cool. In the Huston International Airport I had people stopping me and shaking hands with me because they were Ron Paul supporters too. (instant bond!)

However, in Cleveland people were down right making fun of my sticker. GROWN MEN! I suppose they were FOX watchers themselves.

Of course in Cleveland the little TV screens in the back of the headrests were pre-set to FOXnews showing gripping graphic representations of Obama's approval rating in relation to the "soaring" price of gasoline. *sigh*

Anyhow:
Kurt Haskell The Underwear Bomber witness is talking about moving to Costa Rica now too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WU7_L1bVBLo&feature=related (about 4 mins in)

The bad part is

Costa Rica has turned into the 58th state.

I understand that you get handed american tax/forms from trying to open up bank accounts there. Guess they report your stuff to the imposter tax man.

Freedom may be worth searching for.

Remember, Dont battle the govt with guns(ALONE), Beat them in court, in state legislature, or hire Ron Paul for president.

I am pretty sure you are right about that.

lots of people were chatting about which banks in CR didn't report back to the USA. I felt compelled to slip in the conversation and say, "well, if they are going after Swiss banks, good luck."

I'm an expat....

Had to leave back in '06 to protect against the collapse. I guess I'm lucky, because I was right. Good timing I think.

I live with my family in the Philippines comfortably. If we were still in USA, we would be homeless and severely in debt..... like I said... I'm lucky. I know many who are still there.... suffering now. I fight for the principles of freedom in my everyday life. I fight for my family and for myself every single day. That's my life and I freely accept the consequences and rewards of my actions.

I have an 8 year old boy that I homeschool, he has had NO vaccinations, ever. He has a clear mind and is well ahead of students 3 or 4 years older than he is. I don't have to worry that someone will try to prescribe some garbage pharmaceutical to try to make him 'normal'. I have always been independent and we (myself and my family) are respected in our community due to our willingness to spread our message of freedom and personal independence.

IT'S A PERSONAL CHOICE. Everyone must make that choice for themselves.

I had thought that there was no hope for my native country. I had watched for years the slow degradation of a great society. I had watched for years the unfolding collapse. I did not abandon my country; it certainly did abandon me.

I'm sure that many expats have a similar story. And most of the expats I know are more patriotic than the ones they left behind. Like I said, it's a personal choice; self-preservation and personal freedom. We all realized that it was not an option to give up liberty for security.

I found RP about 6 months ago and I realized that there is real hope for America. I love my country. And I have real hope now that I can return there with my family someday.

I will fight for anything I believe is right.
I will fight for everything that will give my children a chance to see a better way.

I will fight for everyone's right to be exactly what they want to be.

I will fight for my rights, always.
And I will always fight for freedom.

Ron Paul is the voice of free people everywhere.

Long live this revolution, and let our children never forget.

Freedom is the answer !!
What's the question ?

Any pics or video of this line?

That would be awesome.

Also, there are rumors of Americans moving to other countries.

RON PAUL IS THE PEOPLE'S CHAMPION!

I do not know where you get your info from...

Form 2555 foreign income tax exclusion for somewhere around 90k. Then you get taxed on the money ontop of that. Example you make 120k, you only pay taxes on the 30k and for the 30k tax bracket.

Yes Expats would be good demographic, but hard to reach. I know I am one... Check my name.

Freedom may be worth searching for.

Sooo True!

I am in Baja in town where 1 out of every 4 is an American (a few Canadians) but there is a huge American population. How I wish we could have a billboard here. (BTW also in border between Tijuana and San Diego there is huge LCD screen but that is another story). There is a lot of traffic where many Americans live and the local town. I look up for a meet up group here but couldn't find any . . . By the way I was talking to another American on Monday and he started to give me the I-Am-Brain-Washed-By-Fox answer about Ron Paul and that made me think. Here is what I will tell him next time. I am physician and supposed I get a person that is bleeding to dead, he also has a horrible acne problem, very painful hemorrhoids and a bad smelling ugly fungus on his toes. If he is bleeding to dead, the acne and other problems are irrelevant. We are killing the US dollars. Iran, drugs and whatever you want are just distractions. We need to solve the bleeding before we kill the US....

Thank you

Posting this on Twitter.

Here in the GTA Greater Toronto Area at least 250,000 American expats live. It would be great to have them vote Ron Paul in the general election when they can vote(can't vote in primaries and caucuses).

I haven't noticed an Ex-Pat website that

explicitly endorses and networks for Ron Paul, though I have seen favorable mentions of him. Such a site could fill a need and make an effective statement.

Worse yet,not just people corporations.

Obama announced taxing American Corporate profits that are made overseas. He will end up chasing every major company out of the United States.

Hmmmm.

As for me....I'm a Ron Pauler who is primed and waiting to become an Ex-Pat. There's only one thing keeping me here and if that doesn't go as hoped...it will be time to seek out safety.

where would you go instead?

where would you go instead?

Hard to Say...Some place with halfway decent infrastructure...

a good year round climate, abundant organic food supply, clean water, high speed internet...and a government that can't seem to get it together long enough to become a problem...and one that will certainly buck the criminal hegemony...certainly a place with a high likelihood of living out my days in peace.

Like Ecuador...even though the Central Bank is a Rothschild holding and the currency is the American Dollar...don't know how to escape THAT control structure...

Ex-Astronauts and Retired Rocket Scientists seem to like this place...as Brian O'Leary just died here recently and Werner Von Braun's lab assistant runs a hotel in town...

Here is an ex-pat's development...

http://www.vilcabambahomes.com/ 68 degrees to 82 degrees year-round...that's 68 degrees at night...82 degrees during the day...with a wet and a dry season.

You mean former nazi rocket scientists?

Must be a Recreation of a Bavarian village with Uncle Adolf's Grandchildren running around there. KIDDING, relax.

I have not been to Ecuador, but I DO recommend for people to go and live in 2-3 places for a month or 2 before planting roots for sure. I have lived in the Dominican Republic, and that was ok/fun. Very libertarian society, but also self independent. 2 things the DR needs is Fuel and Cars. Both are expensive, but transportation/public is reasonable. If you live outside of the cities, in agricultural areas. Those people can live without fuel, just incase of a crisis. I do have one recommendation to consider. Look for countries that have oil. Venezuela is pretty dangerous, so I would cross that off your list. Trinidad and Tobago, their diesel is locked in at 1 buck a gallon. I think that their gasoline is like 2.50 a gallon fixed price. Due to the Cheap fuel, INDUSTRIOUS yet fun loving people, Food is cheap. Veggies, and if you go to the farmer's market, cuts of beef, fresh, and cheap. If you like spicy, great tasting food, with a beautiful mix of women, Trinidad/Tobago is my Fav.
Example, 2l coke is a buck in pricemart. A tonne of veggies is 10 bucks (Enough for 2 people for a week or more).
Petty crime is a slight problem, the murders are confined to the Ghetto's for the most part. Its a bit more dangerous than Ecuador, but you keep your head on you, they speak english, no need to learn another language. Cost of living is very reasonable. Lots of opportunities for small biz. Import duties is a bit high. NO hurricanes.

IF YOU WANT AMAZING beauty, then Dominica, NOT DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. But fuel prices are high, and that makes everything else higher than Trin. Downside if your single, and its got like 6 volcano's. It is the most alive Island I have been to.

I have been to ALL OVER the eastern Carib, from Dominican Rep PR, BVI's Netherland Antilles, Antigua, all the way down to Trinidad. ABC's.

Thanks.

Good info. As to Von Braun's assitant, Carol Rosin...she was his American assistant and spokesperson after paperclip hauled him ashore...as an aside, she said that he was not happy about the direction the Americans wanted to go...to weaponize space...but had little choice as to how his research would be used...interesting factoid...I think the National Security State got her goat as well, thus the move.

be aware of blowback when living abroad

As an american living in ecuador I can tell you this: there are many gringos here already, Vilcabamba is a gringo hotspot, and the blowback from the local people has been in effect.

Lots of Americans come here and act like, well, ugly Americans. Ugly in the sense that they seem entirely unconcerned with, or simply oblivious to how their actions and words affect others. Its funny, because it's so predictable, but take a neo-con who shouts that all spanish speakers in America need to know english, and that american military exceptionalism is a moral duty, come here and expect the Ecuadorians to cater to them in english, and generally act as though the locals need to learn about how Americans act, and cannot seem to put their egos away and try to understand the culture here. They especially eff things up when they come down, buy cheap land, and flip it at a high profit to other dumb(er) Americans. This really pisses the locals off, as it prices them out of the real estate market.

There will surely be more Americans moving abroad if RP doesn't become prez, god forbid. I have hope that RP supporters will be wise enough and knowledgeable enough to take the responsibility upon themselves to peacefully integrate into new and different cultures.

Well...

I hear you. It is certainly a concern...to be a racial minority anywhere, yet be part of the "haves" at the same time. It's not a way to the hearts and minds of the locals...

I can safely say, I am no longer a Neo-Con American Exceptionalist...those days are now long gone as my public school/West Point father's indoctrination has been overcome by studious research and a heavy dose of awakening to reality. I am working through Berlitz now in preparation for any needed exit as things are going to get dicey pretty soon in my estimate. I'd stay in the advent of a Paul presidency as he will need all the support possible.

With this said, I'd welcome any "insider" information you may now have...certainly any understanding of the "blow back" that you have experienced in Ecuador (or anywhere else in Latin America) would be welcome info. Thanks.

yeah

that's how I feel about it. It is too bad it isn't for other reasons, too... but I'll take them! :)
