How to Remove Your Google Search History Before Google's New Privacy Policy Takes Effect

https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2012/02/how-remove-your-google...

On March 1st, Google will implement its new, unified privacy policy, which will affect data Google has collected on you prior to March 1st as well as data it collects on you in the future. Until now, your Google Web History (your Google searches and sites visited) was cordoned off from Google's other products. This protection was especially important because search data can reveal particularly sensitive information about you, including facts about your location, interests, age, sexual orientation, religion, health concerns, and more. If you want to keep Google from combining your Web History with the data they have gathered about you in their other products, such as YouTube or Google Plus, you may want to remove all items from your Web History and stop your Web History from being recorded in the future.

Criminal laws...

I feel compelled to mention that "truth is treason in the empire of lies." With the NDAA signed, consider that you are indeed a criminal if you disagree publicly with the federal government. This does not give us license to act harmfully to others, of course. But it means you must take each action and make each statement soberly, with wisdom, and with responsibility.
In a similar vein, please do not litter to destroy your data. In this hypothetical scenario we are entertaining, the flash drive could end up on another person's property. At a minimum, this has polluted his property. At a maximum, it has put him at risk due to your data being found on his property. This is far-fetched, but it draws out an important point.
We must own our words. Choose them very well. We will all be called into account for every syllable eventually.

Erase cookies?

Reading the fine print, a friend pointed out that Google promises to honor your "opt out" ONLY IF YOU DON'T DELETE THEIR COOKIE. In other words, the very steps you are taking to protect your privacy, Google will turn against you.

And why would one trust Google, after they subverted privacy

on the iPhone and in Safari?

Just say no to Google.

not the only search engine

Google is one of most used and most powerful search engins but they keep track of evey where you go,but there is an alternative that protects your privacy and does not store your ip, its called Startpage it uses google but it keeps you hiden when searching online. Here is a link to it give it a try and kick Google to the kurb!!

Nothing new

Just clean your browser history regular. You can get extreem using proxy or sand boxie, or firewalls, or a different type of browser or settings to auto clean cookies, bottom line if you want to avoid Google tracking and using a bot to determine what best to promote, advertize to you, down load the google optout cookie and install it. Best to never put somthing out on the internet that you wont stand behind in person.
My 2 cents. what ever you say can and will be used against you.

Can you still erase it if you don't have an email with them?

What about if you don't have an email account with them?

If you have a Youtube account, you also have a Google account.

It isn't just about the search engine you use to do general searches.

I don't, but

I don't, but I do use Gmail until such time as Startpage gets their email up and running.

Do you just

delete google all together, or just disable it in someway?

You could make startpage your default search engine, and

leave Google (and others) there, but I just deleted all the others and left startpage as the only option.

You can always add search engines back in later if you miss them.
