The movie

I just watched the film from the site...

To "Billboards", you're being

To "Billboards", you're being overly chaotic and sensitive here. Half the comments where you're saying people are 'making fun of your sobriety" don't even mention Alcohol at all. You're looking for a fight even when there isn't one...

White-washed

This war has been white-washed for too long. Now if only we could show some of the kids we maimed in Iran and our soldiers returning in caskets. But it is a complete media black-out. Just got finished reading the Wyoming post where Santorum's guy spoke at the caucus about the threat of the Radical Isalmists .... and he won by 1 vote.

Humanity

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmVvKRm9JdU if this was your city and another country threatened it. Then bombed it. Attacked you family, would you not fight? Would you not hate that country for generations?

I drove past this billboard today.

Mostly because my FIL called me early this morning all hot and bothered and wondering why a google search brings up Ron Paul. He's very anti war and found the sign distressing! Spend enough on the internet and you learn that sarcasm isn't quite as sophisticated in text as it is in person. While I get the message, "Billboards" is kind of right and I'm saying that as someone who's actually seen the sign at 70 mph on I-215. It's easy to zero in on areas of this sign might seem offensive. A friend was bothered that "troops" was crossed out, so I've had explain this billboard to 2 people already. Good news is is highly visible, on a very busy freeway and people are taking notice. Personally I thought the website could be better, it's kind of meandering and I thought the point was still somewhat vague, although I did learn something from it. But I'm not so sure the rest of Utah is going to get it.

I like it.

I think it should also have a pic to the side of "Bomb Iran" showing some brown kids dead on the street or kids with their arms and legs blown off.

Yep, my 75yr. old Mormon parents...

..are going to vote Mitt for the sole reason that 'it would be good for the country to have the [Mormon]priesthood in the White House...' Oh, and they think he worked miracles for the Olympics...geesh...but every time I talk to them they basically reiterate everything RP stands for...

Sadly, this is how 95% of Mormons feel. But I got my old missionary companion TOTALLY converted to our cause, and many of my Mormon relatives in Wisconsin are RP supporters too!

Ive noticed that many

Mormons have this thing called pride that always puts them first in just about anything, even things they suck at. I guess they get brownie points for building the kingdom!

oh, that IS good--

Pure Technical analysis - visual tools - link to graphic

http://www.ronpaulbillboards.com/analysis/bombiran_grid_01.jpg

This link is to a graphic that illustrates, with a grid overlay, that the letters at the top of the board are 1 foot high to 1.3 feet high.

The absolute minimum height for letters on a highway billboard is 2 feet in height and this is an absolute MINIMUM height for minimum distance visibility.

The letters are in a font that is very difficult to read at highway speed if they could be read at all.

The letters are close to one another and is many cases actually touching, this makes for very, very difficult legibility.

These are PURELY technical issues which not one person in this thread has had the intellectual courage to address.

And I suffer attacks on my character in ad hominem, I'm held up as a straw man and burned at the stake because I've done my homework, I've done my due diligence, I'm like the boy in grade school class holding up his hand with the answer and all the bullies and lazy fools are throwing spit wads at me.

Respond to the technical analysis or continue with your EMOTIONAL campaign to collect money for really, the Lord only knows.

I agree w/ RonPaulBillBoard's comment

About the top letters being too small for drivers to see. What if all the drivers see is the "Bomb Iran" part and not the smaller print, the billboard actually endorses bombing iran. Other than this, I think the sign is awesome.

Kimmie

I understand your point . . .

if people drive by there regularly, it will sink in--

you may be correct, but sometimes it is the thought that counts--

no attacking here--

just trying to see everyone's POV--

I am sorry *you* feel 'attacked', but perhaps this isn't the place to bring this up?

Perhaps you DO have some better ideas; if so, perhaps you could introduce them in a way that doesn't appear to be an 'attack' on someone else's good intentions.

You sound capable and competent. Start another thread--

discuss this in a way that doesn't make those of *us* who appreciate what someone else has done . . . feel like chumps?

sending peaceful waves at you--

hoping you won't give up on your positive plans--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

What I would LOVE to see

I live in Utah and the masses here will willingly vote for Romney because he is mormon, and rather than do their homework and learn what he is, they vote blindly.

I would LOVE to see a billboard that says "Voting for Romney because he's mormon is like voting for Obama because he's black."

Pretty controversial because many mormons resent that Obama was voted for so that white people wouldn't be considered racist.

I'd do it to but I don't have the funds. If anyone wants to help out, let me know.

Mormons are a tough sell for Ron Paul

I am a Mormon and I live in Utah. I am also a veteran and I am from Arizona. While I really like living here, it is hard for me to see so many Mormons think Romney is it just because he is also a Mormon. Despite his membership in the church, in my opinion, Romney falls extremely short of exemplifying what we believe in. Politically, people here are more asleep than in other places. Our founder, Joseph Smith, revealed that the Constitution is a divine document and admonished us to defend and uphold it. It is a sacred duty.

With public opinion so staunchly for Romney, (He got 90% of the popular vote here in 2008) it is difficult to break the Mitt trance and talking about Paul shuts down open conversation pretty fast.

This billboard is the effort of one of our most valiant and effective Utah Ron Paul supporters and it will wake people up!

Then let us ...

Then let us whip this billboard into a technical configuration which functions.

I hear your extreme emotional appeal, my appeal is purely technical, and none of those concerns have been addressed at any level.

I have been attacked, slandered and defamed and just as Ron Paul will, I stand solidly on my ground, consistently.

Ok. What are your suggestions?

We could all benefit by knowing what makes a good presentation.

Keep up the good fight, and

Keep up the good fight, and THANK YOU! I think this billboard is satirical enough to make people think...hopefully! Sort of like...wait, oh yeah, Romney supports another war, and wants to attack Iran, and wants to support the MIC, and not the troops...wait, WHY am I voting for Romney??!!?
(I will pray for the Utah conscience to be awakened and stirred by such a tactic.)

Creativeness puts a smile on my face and hope in my Heart!!

For those here that have given good words, advice, and comments in the pursuit of liberty and happiness, I believe with creativeness and steadfastness that we have persevered in the message of freedom. Things like this billboard, not only shows me the courage of those that promote Liberty, but helps give me, and I hope others, the courage to fallow it. Remember, Ron Paul Would not be in the place if, he were not genuine and we did not nave the courage to fallow his/ours message of freedom!

hope for the best
