Comedian Bill Maher puts one-million dollars behind pro-Obama Super PAC

Washington (CNN) - Comedian Bill Maher is putting his money where his mouth is.
The comedian and talk show host who has long railed on the weakness of the Republican presidential field announced at a stand up comedy show on Thursday that he would donate $1 million to Priorities USA Action, a pro-Obama Super PAC.
“My surprise tonight is I would like to tonight announce a donation to the Obama Super PAC—which has the very unfortunate tongue-twister name ‘Priority (sic) USA Action’,” Maher said. “I know, it was named by Borat. But tonight I would like to give that PAC one million dollars.”

I wonder why he felt his pronouncement should be a public announcement. Does he really think he can control his viewers into becoming Obama voters? He doesn't say why he supports Obama,... on what issues?

Same here. I throw up in my mouth a little whenever someone describes him as "libertarian." He, Howard Stern, and others like them would not know a libertarian argument if it hit them over their empty, shilling heads. And yeah, he's not even funny, which, like, is an important thing to be if you're supposed to be a comedian.

has always been in the tank for the left.
Any indication he ever made of being anything but that was simply a mask.

I enjoyed his comedy. I like comedian's that point out stupidity whether it's on the left or right, but him supporting Obama like that takes away from the basis of his comedy, which was, they are all stupid.
I'm not surprised though.
