I mentioned Ron Paul on NPR this morning :)

My sister (who is an in closet Paulian) and I (a proud paulian) talked about our views on the election. They edited out a lot of what I said. I talked about how Obama has failed to defend civil liberties. Also when she asked me about cultural issues, I said that we are 14 trillion in debt, we have over 600 bases across the world, we have become the agressors which is such a stray from what is truly american. Our cause is an american cause, it is a cause of freedom and peace. Also that people die for these wars and they dont even know what they are dying for. (After I mention Rotc, I also talk about how I am part of the american legion and boys nation stuff. Which is why I care about the veterans which gives paul even more credibility on why he is the choice for military :) .)

I especially liked the way you brought it back to the economy from the social conservative trap that she was trying to lead you into.
The MSM (and the lady reporter) knows that Santorum has a lock on the evangelical, social conservative, homophobic, one-issue fanatic vote.

Your anti-war statement that did play on NPR was really good. For me, as well, that is the biggest issue. I've found it shuts up Obama apologists really fast. I agree that the wedge issues are just a distraction, and that will be a tactic they will use as you experienced.

I want people in the US to know that it is foolish to bring up these things as there is more at stake right now. If we drive that message home we increase our credibility as the ones caring for the people and paint the media outlet as childish for asking questions that are irrelevant to the common person in this country. If you had qualified that you are quoting RP, I would have moved my criticism directly to the doctor. First killings and torturing of civilian population by regular armies in the modern WESTERN HISTORY (after the middle ages) had occurred in USA (Civil War.) Eugenics laws and some propaganda techniques also originated in USA.

Paul is speaking about the ideals of our founders not the civil war. I respect your opinion, but listen to me when I say this. Right now, we cant be debating each other. If cracks form in the movement we lose. This is a cool thread because it shows people what Ron Paul people are like. If I log on here and see people debating, it shows me that the base isnt united. That is our biggest strength. We must stand together not alone. There are people out there that need to really be shown the way. The only people that are truly with us are each other. We will fight together, and we will make paul win together. We must unite or fall plain and simple. So as much as I agree with you in some of your statements, let stick to good pr for this story just in case some new people come in. :)Perception is a big part of politics.

I loved it, but I take issue with your sister's description of abortion as "medical decision." Would you call abortion a medical decision day before birth or day after?
I actually had a girl tell me an abortion was like having a hair transplant.
I think the problem with the whole abortion issue is the way people define it and refer to it as. because if you say "private medical decision" is sounds nice. If you say ripping the limbs off the baby is sounds horrible, but which is the reality and factual description?

Eventually, with great persistence, we will win this abortion issue because science and morality are on our side.
Also, most pro-life people are both pro-lie and pro-choice. We accept their choice to be sexually active, but we do not accept their choice to avoid the consequences of their actions, especially when it involves terminating another life.

I tried to get on NPR's "On Point"
to comment this morning. The panel was analyzing the GOP debate last night, and never mentioned Ron Paul once.
I called in and I told them I wanted to comment on Ron Paul's foreign policy. The receptionist put me on hold. As I waited I listen to the broadcast over the phone and was incensed to listen to all the pundits go on and on about how foolish it would be for Israel to attack Israel and how Obama was a voice of restraint to prevent a conflict in Iran. They literally stole all of Ron Paul's anti-invention points that he has made for year without referencing him once!
The final straw was a comment made that ALL all the right GOP candidates were advocates for military invention, without making an exception for Ron Paul's' repeated clear and strong stand agasint such action! It was so Orwellian in the censoring and ignoring of Ron Paul's comments he made during the debate.
Well, they took two callers who pretty much said the party line they wanted to hear, and I was told they ran out of time for me. Maybe. I 'd bet dollars to donuts they blew me off because I mentioned Ron Paul and his position. to the receptionist. So much for equal time to counter opinions.

It was great to hear you on NPR. You did a wonderful job representing the Revolution. To bad they edited so much out - NPR has an agenda and that agenda is at direct odds to the campaign for liberty Paul supporters express. I do enjoy NPR, but they need to stop being so biased in their coverage. I could sense the interviewer felt like this wasn't going in the direction she wanted.
