Wow just heard this on local Detroit radio

Romney, in his home state, speaks at Ford Field (Detroit Lions Stadium) which can seat 70,000, speaks to a crowd of less than 300 people on the field. The radio guy then said "The fieldhouse was as empty as his words".

This came from the largest conservative AM radio station here in Michigan.

"The fieldhouse was as empty as his words"

Was that WXYT? Is Mark Scott still on the air there?

It was actually AM 760

I didn't catch the guys name

This just goes to show that

This just goes to show that Romney must believe the media hype and propaganda on how popular he really is. Speaking at a stadium? What a pompous and out of touch with reality fool!

Audience

I checked out that one fox photo and there were even empty seats between the seatings just to stretch out the crowd imo. lol

They could of probably got almost everyone on that stage behind him. It would of looked better :P

Hmm...

I think we are seeing a pattern. Is this the same 300 people he buses in everywhere and riggs all the votes to boot?

Now THATS a good place

for a 'stick-up'

It was the Detroit Economic Club.

As I remember it, that's a rather limited organization. So I doubt the event was open to the public (or widely advertised in advance even if it was.)

While it looks really bad in pictures, an empty stadium doesn't necessarily map to a dearth of support if the supporters mostly can't attend.

So let's not assume that Romney is hurting on evidence of these pictures. Use them to razz him, of course. But don't take it to heart and slack off.

(BTW: If you ever wondered why Ron Paul's campaign always hires a hall too small to hold the crowd, now you know. Even a few empty seats can be made to look like this on camera. Standing Room Only and a big overflow crowd outside is the name of the game.)

= = = =
"Obama’s Economists: ‘Stimulus’ Has Cost $278,000 per Job."

That means: For each job "created or saved" about five were destroyed.

C'mon...They had Herman Cain, and Michelle Malkin from

Fox tv there too. She's the pundit that's always on Hannity's show. I couldn't tell you who the other two were.

They can't fill the place with all of 5 people to see? Ron Paul could fill half of Ford Field easily with all of the marketing behind the Detroit E.C. It was advertised at the top of Drudgereport.com for crying out loud!

Romney Declining....

A declining Romney is not good. I support RP but ralize he will not be the GOP nominee nor next prez. Although Paul could possibly beat Obama in the general election, Santorum can't. So Romney is the best chance for the GOP to win this time around. I think defeating Obama is proirity #1 and I hope RP helps out.

If you're looking for Romney supporters

you've come to the wrong forum, my friend. Maybe you should think about running on over to the dailyromney. This is the dailypaul. The chances that you're going to talk anybody here into voting for somebody besides Paul are just about the same as the Padres winning the World Series.

Troll Alert!

Get off this site we don't need your MSM message in here.

It is better to look dumb and not be, than to look smart and not be.

WTF?

Who are you supporting? The GOP or the Constitution? I am not compromising my principles for another traitor to to the Constitution.

I vote for no one but Ron Paul and will sleep good when I do.

Why would anyone want to

Why would anyone want to replace Obama with someone who agrees with 90% of Obama's policies? Romney and Santorum would both be probably more likely than Obama to start another war, close down trade with China, and reduce our civil liberties.

Ron Paul is the only option. Vote Libertarian if Ron is not the Republican nominee.

Wrong... Please don't believe

Wrong... Please don't believe this crap... Priority number one is get Ron Paul to become the nominee, if this does not happen PLEASE... PLEASE... PLEASE... I beg you not to support the rest of the GOP garbage. If we do, then the GOP will know that we are not resolute in our beliefs and nothing will ever change... Obama for a second term is better then Mittens, Frothy or Grinch...

Romney's so-called 'friendship' is as empty....

There is no friendship b/w the two men, but there is fake appeasement and fake words and fake friendship from Romney. Those words are as empty as his economic plan and his 'love' for this country.

Another empty shirt

Looking at one of areflaten's fullsize 15 gigapixel images you can get a good idea of how many seats there were, BIG image. Not counting the right-most wing which other shots show remained empty it appears they only laid out about 600-700 seats and the CPAN video shows many of those to be empty.

I think you have two options on why they changed the venue.

1. The Cadillac dealer changed his mind.
2. Only place big enough to accommodate Mitt's ego or hair.

They must have heard the crickets chirping.

I especially like the railing

I especially like the railing enclosing the area, as if there is going to be a raucous crowd trying to get into the seating area.

Great image! Thanks for posting.

And it appears half the people in attendance was the press.

It's funny... Ron Paul's speaking events draw HUGE crowds with very little press, while the other candidates are the exact opposite.

Unless Ron Paul! -Lorax

lol, here's a quick c-span pan of the crowd

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZ2IB1-Ooq8

I second the motion for Dr. Paul to hold an event at Ford Field.

Now you know why Paul events have to turn away people

The alternative may be taking too large a space and looking foolish. So don't complain if you get the overflow room, it's good press.

It's not just lack of Enthusiasm. It's lack of votes

The following are Romney's change in votes from 2008 to 2012 as a percentage.

Iowa -0.64% *
New Hampshire +7.25%
South Carolina +12.7% *
Florida +15%
Nevada -1.1%
Minnesota -24.36%
Colorado -25%
Maine -12.66% *

* Denotes proven election fraud in Romney's favor, not adjusted for in these numbers.

Yeh..even Ron would not come

Yeh..even Ron would not come close to filling a 65000 seat stadium for a state event. The thing about Romney is, many have made their mind up that he is the best candidate and are going to vote for him. Do they have passion about it, and want to go out of their way to see him and hear him speak? NO.

Photos from the event.

He was attending the event and posted these photos on flickr.

The Detroit Economic Club boasted that the event sold all 1,200 tickets in a matter of hours, forcing them to relocate to the 65,000-seat Ford Field. But the enormity of the setting gobbled up both the audience and the crowd's dozen or so moments of applause. More than 100 seats remained empty on one side of the stage.

The Sold Tickets to this event? How Many Did Romney Buy?

(: I really believe he will do anything to win this election, I do not find him to be trustworthy.

Mitt Romney's Ford Field fumble with pics!

For starters there's the choice of venue -- a 65,000-seat football stadium for a speech that was only ever going to draw a few hundred people at most.

"I guess we had a hard time finding a large enough place to meet, and this certainly is," Romney said at the top of his remarks.
