Hospital Births Suck
My wife and I had a hospital threaten us with taking our newborn child because the heater in our hospital room was malfunctioning and would occasionally blow out cold air. This was somehow our fault, and they wouldn't even listen to us when we told them it was their heater that was broken. Giving birth in a hospital is like giving birth in a prison.
Based on the experiences we had in the hospital with our first three children, it was an easy decision to have our last four children at home.
RKK = entitlement
Here is the local write up on it: story
I am glad he was treated the same exact way they would treat anyone else who just decided to take a stroll with a newborn.
I'm sure there will be plenty of video footage of the whole course of events. You don't just take a patient, new born or otherwise, out of the hospital without permission from the staff. There are liabilities to consider. Basically he is acting like an entitled piece of shit wanting to have it both ways: care under the hospital when he is not there but free to do as he pleases when he is there. Sorry, it doesn't work like that. Ask for the release papers, sign them and take the kid home and be done with the hospital. Otherwise follow the procedures they have put in place.
I would include a reminder that newborns have been stolen from hospitals. Does the staff know that all is roses with the Kennedy's marriage? Once outside there is nothing to stop him from taking the child and leaving the mother behind. Laugh but this kinda of stuff happens.
This is nothing more than an "important" person trying to cut the line and getting pissed off when confronted.

Are you out of your mind?
Hospital polices do not trump parental rights.
Now imagine this was not a Kennedy. That baby would have been in DSS custody never to be seen again. Hospital Policies are not laws and patients are not the property of the hospital.
The nurse knew dam well he was the father and not kidnapping his own kid.

It's not the hospitals business what is going on in the relationship.
It amazes me that people like you who claim to believe in Constitutional rights can actually have this viewpoint.
The baby is not the property of the hospital and liability is with the parents. Whats next the nurse goes home with them?
Permission to leave a hospital? Is childbirth a terminal illness now?
It's this kind of thinking that has taken us so far down the rabbit hole.
People leave hospitals AMA everyday. It's your Constitutional right to refuse tx, but in this case the baby was not ill but waiting for the mother to discharge. Doctors and Nurses are not Gods, and hospitals are not prisons.
Stolen Babies?
No one steals more babies from unsuspecting parents in hospitals than the hospitals themselves through their CPS cohorts.
