The Ron Paul Michigan tour kicked off Saturday at Central Michigan University night where the student-heavy crowd wrapped along the snow-lined sidewalks waiting to get a chance to see a politician who is older their than some of their grandfathers.

Lisa Wallace...researcher for the Michigan Small Business Owners for Ron Paul and a "big time" supporter, Wallace had been invited to be on stage during the GOP presidential candidate's campaign stop near Grand Rapids.
"I am writing his name in if he doesn't get the nomination," said Wallace, who hoped to shake Paul's hand. "I love his message of freedom. I'm tired of all the wars, foreign aid, excess spending and restrictions on our personal liberties. He's my hero. He's been my hero for over 20 years."

Good but Bad
It's nice they actually put Ron's picture on the front page, but just noticed they used John McCain's slogan above his picture "Maverick"....terrible...

In more Detroit-media developments:
The Jonathan Kinloch Show is a nightly radio program on WDTK, the big political talk station in Detroit. The station is your typical conservative (or "conservative") Salem outlet, with Bill Bennett, Hugh Hewitt, et al. -- but this Kinloch show is a program with a local African-American host and a slant toward Democratic politics.
At any rate: On tonight's program, Kinloch and his co-host were enthusiastically encouraging Detroiters to head out tomorrow and vote for Ron Paul. (Michigan has an open primary system.)
Now, they have a particular motive here: They view a vote for Paul as a rebuke of our establishment-Republican governor, whom they detest for their own reasons.
But regardless, the point was clear: These guys, whose audience includes Detroit's political community, are actively pushing black folks and other Detroiters to hit the polls tomorrow in support of Paul.
I don't know if this concept is circulating elsewhere within the city, but if so, tomorrow could be an interesting day in Motown.
Michigan's Delegate rule
A candidate must receive 15% of the statewide vote to be eligible to receive National Convention delegates. From those candidates meeting this threshold, proportionally bind the national convention delegates according to the statewide vote. Round factions to the nearest whole number
Ron Paul is polling less than 12% in MI. So that means he will get 0 delegates. Is this correct?

Speaking of voting
Apologies if this is off-topic for the thread, but I'm in TaxiMexiFornicat'cha, and I've finally got around to filling out my (gag, barf) Republican (spit) registration application, and consigned it to the bowels of the USPS and http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/elections_vr.htm ;
I'm voting Ron Paul irregardless[1] of the primaries, of course, assuming the neocon/RINO machine or Our Glorious Beloved Infallible Commissar haven't abolished the Write-In Ballot by then, or suspended the election entirely.
[1] I know there's no such word - I've used it for dramatic effect here. ;-)
Ron Paul or Bust! Literally!!
Freedom is my Worship Word!
Wait a minute - Santorum said yesterday that Ron Paul is not...
...campaigning at all in Michigan.
I heard him say it on the Laura Ingram show.
Then he whined that Paul was only attacking him in Michigan ads.
"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul
Alex Witt
In her 02/26 interview with Doug Wead (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sODZCFI3T4&feature=youtu.be...), Alex Witt said "essentially" the same thing.
Love that Picture! The Face of a Principled,

The face of joy
No matter what detractors may say, I'm looking at that man's face and seeing fulfillment and joy. His life has been a life well-lived, and it's good to see him getting some of the recognition he deserves.

**Paul Campaign, take note**
Just when I didn't expect Paul to go into Christian settings (given his desire to keep his faith from being used as a political tool), he really amazed me with this one. I wish he would travel around to more churches, especially Black urban churches. His message would really resonate with them. I know because I just watched a replay of the debate with two Obama supporters and they got him. Paul campaign, if you're reading this, take note. You've got many untapped audiences for growth, especially in open primary states.

New To Voting Need Advice
Hello I will be voting tomorrow in Michigan for RP can anyone advise me on how the delegate process works in Mich so I could possibly become a delegate?
It varies by state
http://ronpauldelegates.wordpress.com/
I'm not sure how Michigan works, but you can try the link above. In Virginia the delegate selection doesn't have anything to do with the voting on election day. It actually happens later at district GOP meetings. You may also want to call the campaign directly and they can put you in touch with the coordinator for your area. That's what I had to do. It couldn't hurt to fill out the form here either, but it might be too late for your state, not sure:

Good luck, and don't give up. You may have to do a lot of asking around before you get the delegate question answered...
Yes, it does appear that Ron Paul is surging everywhere, whereas
the three stooges are on major tilt. I can tell you from talking to some of the guys at work, they are totally disgusted in Romney, Santorum and Gingrich, because they offer no real solutions..They rather bicker an fight and point fingers at one another, while dodging questions asked of them..ala Mitt Romney. Paul is discussing real issues, and real solutions the people want to hear. At the same time, Dr. Paul is increasing his broad based appeal to the Obama supporters with his anti war, pro american foreign policy..
That is Great to See
That is Great to see Ron Paul on the front page on Detroit News. It is important that if can is become a delegate to your county and state conventions. That is where it is at.
REVELATION Chapter 13
The media is picking their side
It occured to me that certain news organizations are standing up and choosing to cover Paul events. I believe the line in the sand has been drawn and none of us will forget which news outlets chose to continue to lie to us and those that made the brave choice to report the actual facts. The Detroit News just made my list of organizations I will continue to support after the election season is over.
They endorsed Romney : (

They even refer to Dr. P as a "frontrunner"...nice!
Ron Paul is gaining steam everywhere lately
I think that tipping point is getting tipped more and more!
Ron Paul for the win!
I don't know if you guys
I don't know if you guys realize, but this is the second time in five days that RP has been the front-page centerpiece of the Detroit News. He was in the same spot on Wednesday.
That is an awesome story!
That is an awesome story! Detnews.com is where I get all my sports news, sometimes I read the personal interest stories...
Quite fitting
that RP would 'rise above' the article below him about surprising retirees with a new tax too ; )

thanks ..
Wouldn't a Paul strong finish be nice?
The media and their polls have Dr. Paul all but written off in Michigan. According to the media, he's not even contending. As for Michigan, maybe they've had their share of Washington politics. One of the biggest reasons of the auto makers demise is our foreign policy, which let Japan and Korea take over our markets.
alan laney
It sure would!
But my small town in Almont, Mich..in 2007..when I voted for Ron & my son as well, the ticker tape came out when we placed our ballots in, and back to back it said "defective ballot". I knew back then that our machine was fixed for election fraud regardless of what anyone tells me, I saw it with my own eyes! I live in a different town now and that ticker tape is covered. I would really like to believe that it isn't like that everywhere in Michigan. If they can say with 100% confidence what will happen in Michigan on voting day, perhaps they know about the machines! Regardless of my experience, I will go & vote for Ron!
Thanks
