AP source: Israel won't warn US before Iran strike

Israeli officials say they won't warn the U.S. if they decide to launch a pre-emptive strike against Iranian nuclear facilities, according to one U.S. intelligence official familiar with the discussions. The pronouncement, delivered in a series of private, top-level conversations, sets a tense tone ahead of meetings in the coming days at the White House and Capitol Hill.

Israeli officials said that if they eventually decide a strike is necessary, they would keep the Americans in the dark to decrease the likelihood that the U.S. would be held responsible for failing to stop Israel's potential attack. The U.S. has been working with the Israelis for months to convince them that an attack would be only a temporary setback to Iran's nuclear program.

Smart move, Israel!

Bush and Obama had shackled Israel with "Road Map" and blackmailed Israeli pilots since USA controls Iraqi's airspace (the shortest route from Israel to Iran.) When Israel destroyed Iraqi's nuclear plant in 1980s, Ron Paul was one of few politicians who defended Israel. Reagan administration and Congress condemned Israel while approving secret weapon transfer to USA's new friends at the time - Al-Qaeda and Saddam Hussein.

And they shouldn't

It's not our business; We should NOT be involved at ALL.

If that's your choice Israel,

If that's your choice Israel, that's YOUR choice. Please respectfully allow us to remove our troops from harm's way and you may choose your fate as a sovereign nation.

Our non-intervention will speak volumes to the rest of the world and assist in improving relations with Muslim countries.

We must lead our own people first, heal our own nations and sort through the wrongdoings that have or haven't been committed on OUR soil.

We have to stop this war. Fool me once, shame on you...fool me...can't get fooled again

Iran all bluster?

The more I look at the situation with Iran, the more I think that the Iranians are nothing but all bluster. Certainly their political/religious leaders are crazy enough to do just about anything, but I don't think they are stupid.

They don't need nuclear weapons. Look at what they are able to accomplish with just a little bit of bluster. Many Americans are running scared with "radical islamist" phobia. American and European leaders are in sanctions mode, which will only hurt the Iranian people, not their leadership, and are turning those people even further against us. With gas nearing $4.00/gallon in the U.S., the threat of closing the Strait of Hormuz has Americans in a tizzy (all while Obama says that "algae" will save us!).

Iran has to know that if it makes a nuclear move against Israel, or activates sleeper cells in the U.S. to initiate a reign of terror in our cities, that the retaliation would be so fierce they would have gained very little. Even Dr. Paul, who many wrongly believe is weak when it comes to Iran, says that if you pose a legitimate threat or attack us, we'll kick your butt.

I think the Israelis are very capable of taking care of themselves.

No worries Mate

They don't have to. Then again, being that we have no treaty with Israel, consequences are all their own.

They can defend themselves!

They don't need us if there really was a problem, which is probably why Leon Penetta chose to embarrass them by announcing that Israel would attack Iran in the next couple of months. Penetta just wants to stir up a fight that really doesn't exist. The globalists don't like when a nation behaves sovereignly. They want Israel to be subject to the agenda of the U. S. and the U.N.

Good! Please don't tell us and leave us out of it!

When the Iranians put the Israeli's in a real "hurt locker" perhaps they will learn their lessons not to attack people. Now, have a nice day.
