Ron Paul is Not the Future of the Revolution

Should move to Washington or Maine, and then we can secede from the union. We can have our own sound currency, effiecient government, low taxes, civil liberties. We can create our own utopia with Ron Paul as our leader

I tried, no one will deny that. I am not cut out for it. I saw a comedian do a bit about terrible job interviews, and this line is SO me:
"How do I hold up under stress? I fold like a cheap lawn chair."
Politics is dirty, nasty business, and everyone wants to be your friend so they can be in the best position to stab you in the back and if YOU want a political career, you'd better learn how to smile when the knife goes in. Often it is NOT malicious, people are desperately trying to make things better, and it is easy to get to a "do what ever it takes" mindset. But it is a slippery slope, and who is to say when one slid too far? It is in the eye of the beholder, but in the heart of the slider.
I got here a truther, and by "here" I mean to this planet. All us kids called my mother "Pollyanna" because she was aces at sticking her head in a privy and swearing she smelled roses. By the time reality gave me a few good hard knocks, I got really odd about being lied to and about lying. I am NOT pretending I never lie, and truly I am pretty good at it. I used to practice on Pollyanna when I was a teenager - she wanted to believe whatever sounded good, I learned QUICKLY how rewarding it was to tell her what she wanted to hear. I do not even believe lying is a sin, it is how humans avoid pain and that is a normal response. Bearing false witness against another is actually a very specific thing, and it is quite damaging.
The thing is, I just LOVE truth. I don't want to coax people to do the right thing and leave them in ignorance, satisfied with getting them to vote on this or that. I want them to vote the right way based on their understanding of the facts. It is a lofty goal, but I think most will agree it is a worthwhile effort. If people like me did not exist, there is no hope that politics will ever stop being a dirty game of back room deals and threats.
Don't get me wrong, we are in the bottom of the ninth with bases loaded. I am in pitching for Paul with all I've got, including blowing sunshine wherever I find a chance. It is lovely that for Ron Paul I do not have to lie, I just have to make sure I phrase things in a way that does not trip their "OMG!!!" reaction. But I don't know another Ron Paul. When he leaves politics, I'll be exiting stage left. But I can never stop loving truth, and that means I will always cherish liberty. They are essentially 2 sides of one coin.
Liberty, in the end, is totally DIY. Aquaponics and permaculture, these are how we break the death-grip on our food supply. If you cannot do politics long term please look into them.
Thanks for reading my long ramble. It has been a long time since I had 30 minutes to myself.

City council, county government, mayors, governors, congressmen, representatives of all kinds needs to have members of the grassroots in position. This is not a job that will be solved by one man.

Start running for office, people. The money-bombs will be there long after RP has retired.

But it is our responsibility to continue spreading the message of liberty and personal freedom -- the message of the constitution -- and never compromise on our principles.

that you will never, ever see another Ron Paul in your lifetime. A man who's never bowed under to pressure, sold out to lobbyists, and managed to remain humble with a pure childlike innocence and passion delivering the same consistent message.

If it weren't for him, you wouldn't even be on a forum called Daily Paul.

Just keep that in mind when you say the movement is bigger than him. Even though he's the first one that would say so himself, it's not your place to make him seem less important or pivotal.
