The "Wasted Vote Syndrome" is not Exclusively the Domain of "Third Parties"

The reasoning of these people defies explanation. If our country crashes and burns, it will be due in large part to the bizarre rationale of people like this:
"Interviewed after a McCain house party ... a 56-year-old store manager, said, 'I love Ron Paul. He is very factual. He is everything I believe in. But he's not a front-runner. He isn't going to win the presidency.'
For that reason, [he] said he is deciding between McCain and Romney."

Wasted Vote are those voting for a Pro war Republican
Wasted Vote are those voting for a Pro war Republican
This is the way you convert - ask them Why are you wasting your vote in the all important Primaries on a Pro War candidate when they will get crushed by the Democrats in the general election about the war?
Another perspective
I think that the young voters DID show up on caucus night.....they went to the Democratic side and voted for Obama. The Republican brand is too tainted with the stink of George Bush to attract any but the most free thinking from this age group. It is one of the biggest hurdles I have to overcome in talking to younger (20 something) people about Ron Paul. Sad but true.
"Luctor et Emergo" - Struggle and Emerge
Internet WAR
I am often surprised by the many voices on this Forum that suggest that the internet battle is over and that we must leave our virtual posts behind and get our "boots on the ground."
Of course we must spread our message on the streets. We have to prove our viability. Rallies, sign waving, slim jimming, door-knocking, letter writing, phone-calling, ect. These are all necessary
and we need more action on ALL fronts.
But to suggest that the Internet Struggle is over is just plain WRONG. Our campaign would not exist without it, and Obama would not be winning either.
Obama has become our Greatest Adversary. We are fighting over the same Demographic. And these supporters thrive on the Internet. We may far outpace him on meetup, myspace, facebook, digg and reddit, but He far outpaces us in VOTES. And, he is closing in on us in every online metric. Obama recieived 91,000 votes in Iowa, compared to our 11,000. That Hurts. He will do as well in NH, maybe better. We will be lucky to come in 3rd among a group of fools who have zero chance of beating Obama in the General.
I am suggesting that YOU and I take the initiative HERE and go on the Offensive. You can spend 8 hours knocking on doors and walk away with maybe 10 votes and another 10 questionables. Or you can spend 1 hour on youtube, digg, reddit, but even more importantly on the Obama Forums and affect thousands of voters, immediately! Or, you can spend 8 hours knocking on doors AND spend 1 hour On-Line!
We need to find the BEST negative footage on Obama, Right Now!
and spread it far and wide. With a concerted effort we can get OUR voters back by showing them the truth about Barack. YouTube can turn out 100,000 views in a single day! This is an Information Revolution and we need to take THIS fight more seriously.
Find his statements on pre-emptive "options." Give it a great title and description and spread it fast. We don't need to get personal, we don't need to go below the belt. I respect Obama in many ways, as does Ron Paul, but Please help me to Distinguish ourselves from Obama and explain our Superiority.
It Started Here and it ain't over yet!!!
Vote with a Constitutional
Vote with a Constitutional Conscience!
Young voters- no show
One of the reasons Obama is doing so well is that, like Ron Paul, a lot of young people are attracted to his campaign.
But Obama was able to challenge these young people to attend the caucus. I didn't see many young people at my county caucus. In fact, almost everyone there was 40 or over.
That means that a small and older segment of the population in my county determined the winner.
So why didn't the young people attend?
Why hadn't HQ arranged
Why hadn't HQ arranged transportation like the other candidates did?
It's not like they didn't have enough of OUR $$$$
Buses are cheap.
In my county, having a ride
In my county, having a ride was not the problem.
YouTuber has "Wasted Vote Syndrome" *Link* HELP
He says he likes Kucinich and Paul, but they have no chance, so we have to look into other candidates for a more realistic, "less childish", approach to the election. He thinks Ron Paul's revolution is just a beginning and it won't accomplish anything but that.
Normally I would ignore this "stuff', but this guy has 100s of subscribers and he has a big audience. So let's tell him that THE TIME IS NOW!!!!

Missed opportunity
I called Iowa voters. I made a list of all the RP supporters I talked with. 16 of that list supported RP but would not go to the caucus, the primary reason being, it would be a wasted voted.
The vote totals of my precinct were as follows:
Romney 216
Huckabee 140
Thompson 61
McCain 60
Paul 50
Giuliani 12
Hunter 1
If those 16 would have attended the caucus, RP would have had 66 votes and would have been in 3rd place.
And there you have it!
What fools are attracted to McCain?
and why do so many of them live in NH?
this is just rediculous to me. I thought this was the "Live Free or Die" state!...? What about the Free State Project? Where are OUR people?
That Fascist War-Mongering Sell-Out is actually going to WIN on George Bush's Foriegn Policy? in New Hampshire? The people in this country don't deserve Ron Paul.
We Must do well in NH and this kind of Pragmatic BS is killing me.
what ever happened to Principle? and beyond that, these pragmatists can only see 1 step ahead. They call McCain electable, they see him as a frontrunner, but it is FOLLY to think that McCain can beat Obama. ABSURD. Even the pragmatists should realize that Ron Paul is the ONLY hope for a Republican Victory. these stupid people deserve to loose. This race is becoming more and more difficult. The stupid independents seem to be flocking to McCain. We wouldn't appeal to them anyway so fine, no loss, but the smarter ones are jumping over to support Obama now and this hurts. When will people stop voting with their Hearts and start using their Minds?
Confusing politics & sports
People have this attitude because they treat elections as though they were sports. It's more important to pick the winner than to vote with conviction. I'd rather be taunted for voting for the "loser" than correctly pick the next dictator.
"Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." - John Quincy Adams
Look for a bumper sticker on my car that says, "Don't Blame Me -- I Voted for Ron Paul!"

Don't blame me! I voted for Ron Paul!
Well Buddy, Guess what?
If you do not vote for Ron Paul, there is no chance in hell your party can win, Ron Paul voters (if he doesn't win nomination) are in the millions, millions who are not going to vote or are voting for third party.
In a way this could be good
In a way this could be good because it means there are many who are considering Dr. Paul but are waiting for him to become "viable". I agree these people are irrational and unprincipled but we still need their votes. If we do well in New Hampshire that could be a tipping point.
