Are we missing the boat?Submitted by Crazyfingerz on Tue, 03/06/2012 - 01:51
Our government is a mess. The MAJORITY of Americans agree. Most would agree that corrupt politicians are the problem. That is why there has been huge swings back and forth from Democrat to Republican and back to Democrat, rinse repeat. Many are waking up to the idea that the country is just replacing one set of crooks with another set of crooks. Rinse Repeat. This is where I see an opportunity for a big grass roots movement to grow.
Start with something all can agree upon. Cleaning up corruption in our Government. At some point the Ron Paul movement must collide with other movements even thou our philosophies may not be the same.
The truth is the American people are electing frauds and phonies. There are many good honest men in politics that may have different philosophies on government but could make one heck of a good alternative coalition.
Take Ron Paul, Cynthia McKinney, Ralph Nadar and Dennis Kucinich and throw them in a room for a week. Let them come up with a platform they can all agree upon. Spice it up with Bill Black, Ed Janzen, and Warren Mosler for different economic perspectives and come up with an economic plan.
Call in all their buddies and persuade them to support it.
Present the plan to the World in the form of a third party.
It has to happen. Honest people regardless of their political differences must take back our government. Honest liberals independents and conservatives must join forces because they are outnumbered alone.
Could they all agree on this platform?
-Obey the Constitution
-Smaller more efficient government
-A humble foreign policy
-Strong national defense
-Filling the agencies in charge of regulation with rock solid individuals with records to prove it
-Ending the departments that are not necessary
-Less taxes and only spending for the public good
-no bill shall be passed that is over 20 pages long
Ron Paul is a niche market. Combine 4 niche markets and we could take back the country from the crooks and phonies
I was taught to hope for the best but plan for the worst. I hope Ron Paul can win the GOP nomination and defeat Obama. But there must be a plan in place for our movement to grow. I sincerely believe it is with other good honest folks that might have different views of government than we do. I can compromise with them. Not liars, crooks, and thieves.
