USA! USA! We're #1! At all the wrong things...

End of the American Dream has cataloged a list of 40 American chart-toppers. We’re number one, alright, but at all the wrong things.

#1 America has the highest incarceration rate and the largest total prison population in the entire world by a good margin.

#2 There are more car thefts in the United States than anywhere else in the world by far.

#3 Of all the major industrialized nations, America is the most obese. Mexico is #2.

#4 The average American drinks more than 600 sodas a year – the most in the world.

#5 U.S. corporations sell more fast food and more soda than anyone else in the world by a wide margin.

#6 Nobody watches more television per week (28 hours) than Americans do. Although to be honest, people living in the UK are tied with us.

#7 The United States leads the world in credit card fraud.

#8 The United States has the highest percentage of one person households on the entire planet.

Who's currently better than the US at imperialism?

at crushing worker organizations?

at having doctors, math teachers, etc from other countries?

at the lowest savings, the highest debt per person?

at having a false republic? Himbo-cide!

lol...himbo-cide, I like that...trademark!

The USA is committing Himbo-cide.

Heads in the sand

It trips me out how many people are sitting around waiting for the government to "fix" everything for them. How did we become that dependant on others?

I don't see how #8 is so bad

I'd say it's a good thing, really. Some may attribute that to a low birth rate, but also consider that there's a lot more empty land here than in most other parts of the world, which means people can spread out.

Two reasons why you don't see as many single person residencies in other countries is because 1) it's prohibitively expensive due to taxes and/or available space, and 2) because many other places don't emphasize moving out of your parents' house ASAP like we do here.

A signature used to be here!

Yeah, but...

That could be, but you have to remember that this also involves our high divorce rate, abandonment, etc. So, there is some bad news in that as well, though you probably have a point that it's not necessarily so.
