Just voted for Ron Paul in MA

There was a little drama this morning at my otherwise sleepy polling place. We just moved to a new place on Prospect Hill above Union Square in Somerville, home of America's first flag. I made sure to change my registration to my new address before moving, but they couldn't find me the list! The old guy, who used to live in this apartment, but now lives down in Florida was listed at my address instead. It was a conspiracy I tell you! A vast conspiracy to keep the Mayor of the Daily Paul from voting!

Not. After talking to the kindly police officer on duty, who called the central election office, who confirmed that I was "all set" and a recheck of the list, it turns out I was on there all along. Got my ballot and voted Ron Paul!

It was a sleepy day at the polling station. As of 10:30 am, only 34 people had come in to vote. But I did my part:

Hey Michael, we're neighbors

Hey Michael, we're neighbors now. Welcome to the Ville. We're real close now. If you ever need any help with the DP (Admin, data entry, etc)just let me know.

And, I Thought You Were Governor

...Mayor in 08. So glad to hear you live on The Hill. And, Prospect Hill is just about perfect. Could you give us a run-down on how DP has grown under your leadership since the early days?

Thank you for your...steadfastness and consistency. You are an example to us.

A dreadful conspiracy on the part of the American Government ...

... Now Mr. Neider, in a pamphlet published by Hill & Wang in their American Century Series of paperbacks (50 cents)... a translation of the review of his edition of the [Mark Twain] Autobiography as it appeared in Literaturnaya Gazeta last August, his answer to this review ( by Y. Bereznitsky) which was accompanied in the Soviet literary journal ... but was informed by the Gazeta's foreign editor that "It seems you and Mr. Bereznitsky expressed your views about Mark Twain and his works in full. That is why we do not consider it necessary to continue this discussion any longer.

Now what was this tempest in a literary teapot all about? ... that Soviet literary officialdom assumes that, as in their land, American writers are not free agents, and that there is a dreadful conspiracy on the part of the American Government to hide from the American people the true nature of Mark Twain's contribution to the literature of the United States. The literary dictators of the Soviets conceive of him as one of our severest social critics, whereas, they protest, American writers try to present him as merely a funny man - a humorist. They see him as a thinker, a conception which might have amused Mark.

... Russian humor is not far removed from our own, and Russians could also understand a boyhood like Mark Twain's, nor was the transition from the Volga and the Dnieper to the Mississippi too hard to make.

... Mr. Bereznitsky speaks of those "few authentically great thinkers whom America has created - Poe, Whitman, Twain" - none of whom, whatever his other merits, can be regarded as a thinker. But as Mr. Neider observes, Mark Twain is useful to the Soviet spokesman - and to most Americans as well - as a critic....

Lets just hope your vote

Lets just hope your vote actually went to Ron Paul.

President: Ron Paul ☑

Multiple choice ballots may make the selection process so efficient. As done as on this ballot, arrangement might have obviously the best choice right up on top. "None of the below" need be considered.

Go Mikey

Great Pic.

I just got back from voting at Precinct 2 in Rockport Mass.

Loved it. Very very old little Church that smells of old wood and parchment.
We have paper ballots and the old hand cranked voting boxes I was voter #250.

The people running it were as old as the boxes. LOL

WTG, Michael

Let's hope the next time you vote for him it will be in the general election as the Republican candidate.

With liberty and justice for all...who can afford it.

Great pic

Lookin' good. I can see a visible difference in your health compared to the last pic I saw of you and Tom Woods..

There's also that obvious feeling of satisfaction on your face after doing the right thing.
Thanks for fixing that thing for me as well. I'll give you an update soon and email you my new direct number.

Another Conspiracy, Another Conspiracy Solved

It was a conspiracy, I tell you! A vast conspiracy to keep the mayor of the Daily Paul from voting!

Now you're gettin' the hang of it, Michael, the hang of what's keeping down RP!

Anyway, hey, I like that you have to complete the arrow to pick your candidate. What a good idea. It shoud improve vote tabulation short term and long term.

Short term, because the arrow is large compared to a circle, how can a scanner misread an arrow? Long term, provided the ballots are saved to verify scanner results, matching ballots to scanner readout is a snap because of the arrow's size and, more important, distance.

The arrow should make vote counting unmistakable, leaving all that's left to do is cover any other hole open for conspiracy to take place! lol.

Michael and others have showed us one way, the photo. Another way, using paper ballots of course, is have human vote counters (never machines/scanners) and record them and their area from the second doors open to after live public vote counting ends. And if a person sitting at the vote table leaves or returns the area for whatever reason, he should write his full name, time he left and returned and reason for leaving on paper that's plainly in view of, accessible to and copy-able by the voter standing near the table. No machines, no shipping ballots to site X, no out-of-public-sight counting. No loose ends. All up front and center. END THE CONSPIRACIES!

What determined the order of

What determined the order of the candidates? Maybe the date they were accepted to be placed on the ballot? I wonder why they didn't just alphabetize, and why do they leave candidates who have dropped out? Still, line 1 has the candidate for me.

Thanks Michael

Thank you for the Daily Paul. You and Dr. Paul have cured my apathy.

Voted for the good doctor this morning at wheelock college in brookline!

Thank you Michael

for the Daily Paul, and everything you do for our cause. Great picture by the way. It felt great to mark the Ron Paul bubble on my ballot here in Michigan too.

Sent in my absentee ballot last week!

...and so did the old lady, and the dark skin fellow with a pipe, and the lady with a limp in her speech - and oddly enough they all wore a purple scarf...hmmm voter fraud in MA?

Great pics

Glad you sent your voting pics in. This is a great site too. I've commented on "news" sites and many responses are nasty, uninformed rhetoric, mostly about name calling.

Nicely done joke!

Nicely done joke! haha...Thanks for giving us a place to support each other, spread ideas, and organize!

Capt. USAF

That's a super weird way of voting...

Color in the arrow? LOL. I guess be glad they don't make you replicate a Monet next to the candidate name of your choice.
