Why no campaigning in VA?

All this hype from everyone wanting a two man race? Well, in VA that is what it was and noone did a thing. So, what is the message here when not a single ad or anythingelse hit VA?

And Newt supporters came out and voted for Paul in order to weaken Romney. Perhaps a few Santorum supporters.

Hence, the goal is to weaken Romney so that he goes away.

I am with some other comments here on being baffled at the lack of campaigning in VA. When it comes to no anti-romney in the race, then that state is just dead of a paul presence.

maybe this has

something to do with it:

gold = money
war = health of the state
liberty = prosperity

Yep... In an area heavily

Yep... In an area heavily dependent on the military industrial complex..

At my polling place......

Several people wanted to sign up as a Ron Paul delegate but were unable due to the fact that they were a contractor for the Federal government or a Federal employee. Silence=Death.

Virginia is NOT winner take all.....

I know the delegate process is complicated and convoluted but here is the breakdown from www.thegreenpapers.com which has all of the primary and delegate election information you would ever need:

49 total delegates - 10 base at-large / 33 re: 11 congressional districts / 3 party / 3 bonus

Tuesday 6 March 2012: 46 of 49 of Virginia's delegates to the Republican National Convention are pledged to presidential contenders in today's Virginia Presidential Primary.

33 district delegates are to be bound to presidential contenders based on the primary results in each of the 11 congressional districts: each congressional district is assigned 3 National Convention delegates and the presidential contender receiving the greatest number of votes in that district will receive all 3 of that district's National Convention delegates.
13 at-large delegates (10 base at-large delegates plus 3 bonus delegates) are to be bound to presidential contenders based on the primary results statewide. Compute percentages to 3 decimal places, that is, 50.000%. The delegates are allocated to the presidential contenders as follows:
If a candidate receives 50.001% or more of the vote, that candidate is allocated all 13 at-large delegates.
If no candidate receives 50.001% or more of the vote, the 13 at-large delegates are allocated proportionally among those candidates receiving 15.000% or more of the vote. Rounding rules: Beginning with the candidate receiving the largest number of votes, round the fraction to the next whole number of delegates. Continue this process with the next highest vote getter and repeat until all the delegates are allocated.

In northern VA we have a delegate election coming up on March 24th and again on May 19th.

I imagine this is how Ron Paul has been scooping up delegates in other states. I was out from 11am-7p poll closing to hand out flyers and information and sign up delegates at my polling place.

For Liberty!

Not bad considering the campaign rolled over and died there

Hell if they would have actually tried who knows what we could have done?

Frustrating!

So true

When you think the campaign did nothing and the media has either ignored or ridiculed Paul from the beginning, to get four out of ten votes is impressive!

Virginia is supposed to be

Virginia is supposed to be winner takes all though.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

No

Its 13 bonus to winner and winner take 3 in all of the districs

But if one candidate has even

But if one candidate has even .00001 over 50% of the vote, it becomes winner take all, unless something changed that I was not aware of.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

Ron Paul got 3 delegates...

because he carried District 03. All of Virginia's congressional districts carry 3 delegates to them; which is part of the reason why Romney got 46.It would really be a shame for anybody who could to declare at the last second that all of Virginia's delegates are winner take all just to deny Ron Paul his. That's what it would amount to, since several news agencies have put out a delegate count.

3 delegates bound to Romney.

3 delegates bound to Romney.

Pretty damn close!

Ron received over 40% of the vote in 6 of 11 Districts.

Considering he

outperformed the 538 polls so far that he wasn't even in their "range", and he got 3 delegates I am pretty pleased. The downside is that, it now appears that Virginia was actually in play for him, if he would have went for it.

The money was better spent

The money was better spent elsewhere.

Yes. I will never understand

Yes. I will never understand why we did not hit that place like a tornado..sigh.

Looks like he's right!

wow, very low voter turnout 5% on average!

Just looked at your link...Ron Paul did well probably because his supporters simply showed up! The GOP voter base is severely apathetic in the primaries!

RP R3VOLution

delegate bump!

delegate bump!

Never be afraid to ask simple questions.

YEAH!! DISTRICT 3!!!

so RP certifiably has 3 delegate from VA and what did Romney get? I don't trust MSM at all. I'd trust you though.

Romney will get the rest

So like 43 ;( But....Hey every delegate we can get is a plus
