Giving Up!

As I sit here, honestly questioning giving up, I thought to myself:

I wear my passion for Ron Paul on my sleeve, literally, everywhere I go. This is going to hurt today. This is going to hurt tomorrow, and if anyone tries to rub it in, I will emotionally crush them and put their ignorance of every issue and every process on display for all to see so that none will DARE do it again. That's right, we Paul fans know our stuff.

On that point, my mind turns to apathy. "If these ignorant people don't see the truth, that's their problem, I have shown them the way." I know in my heart this is over, the Paul push for the White House is done.

My wife and I have argued the past several days, just because of the Paul race. I'm WAY more worked up over this race than she is, I am after all a soldier, and I do put my life on the line for this country, whether that is for Obama, Romney, or Paul. THINK ABOUT THAT. For Romney's policies? For Obama's Policies? SANTORUM'S POLICIES??? It's INFINITELY frustrating when I have sworn an oath to the Constitution, to then turn my back on it and enforce a tyrannical policy or else suffer the penalty of prison or death. I digress. While speaking to my wife, she gave me the ole, "everyone online is saying to not give up hope!!" I simply told her that, "They only say don't give up because they are cheerleaders. But we can't give up, we have no choice."

Me, personally, I hate cheer leading...False motivation.

However, my response actually gave me hope...not because there may or may not be a chance, but because there is no other option. Paul supporters KNOW THAT. What happens when Paul doesn't win? Simply...HORRIBLE THINGS.

We can't give up. WE CAN'T! Ron Paul writes about a story in his book Liberty Defined. Here is the brief summary:

A man is preaching to a city, trying to get them to change their evil and corrupt ways, telling them of all their sins. Day in and day out, this man warns them and tries to save them from their ways. Eventually a citizen approaches him and ask him, "Why don't you just give up already. Can't you see that no one is listening to you? No one cares!" The man responded, "I realized long ago that I wouldn't change any of you or turn any of you from evil. I continue to spread my message because it prevents YOU from changing ME."

My bottom line is this. WE MUST GO ON. We are liberty. US. We have to "preach", we have to spread the message, and we have to fight. We may not change ONE more mind. But they will NOT change us. If through this endeavor we convert some believers in liberty, so be it, and thank God.

But if nothing else...do this for you. And remember in the back of your head...Ron is our ONLY choice. There is NO alternative other than collapse and tyranny. Don't stop the donations, don't stop the support, don't take the bumper stickers off your car, don't take off that hoodie with Ron Paul across the back.

If you do, you are not giving up on Ron and ceding to the other candidates. You are giving up and liberty and ceding to tyranny.

I was the same way. In 2007 I went on a rock climbing trip. I have always enjoyed politics, and I suppose I brought it up. I was pushing for McCain. I remember the calm way he asked, "What do you know about Ron Paul?" That question changed my life.

He told me a few things, I thought, "well, he sounds pretty good, but there's now way." Well, way. haha. I looked him up, saw the videos, saw the voting record...and well, became a fan.

After McCain got it, I was right back to pushing for McCain. I just didn't want Obama in, his record was already bad from a senator, not to mention the LACK of knowledge on him. It was scary.

But this time came around, and I remembered what the hell I'm here for. LIBERTY. I feel it in my blood, the calling is in my heart...pumping into my bloodstream and into every fiber of my being. I have read some of his books, and even disagreed with some of his stances, and then...as time progresses, his stances prove themselves right.

He is a leader, and he is an inspiration. We won't have another person to lead us like Ron Paul for a LONG time if ever.

I think I started to respond to say that I remember when I got all of my news from Fox too, but I got waaayy too distracted. HAHA. Fox is most definitely the enemy of liberty.

I not only thought that was well written, your truthful thoughts almost moved me to tears. Apathy owned me for years, and my determination bought me out of that hidden slavery. I had given up because I truly felt we could not win. I do not feel that way any more. No matter how many morons I meet, there are a whole bunch of us trying to change their minds. We are winning. Will be victorious. It will not be quick nor easy, at ALL. We are conscripted. It is our duty. Our lives must be given for this, as much as we can. We must pray that we stay on the right side. We must know from where our strength comes. If we have to use it all up, so be it.

You Just Gave Me New Perspective

Thanks for putting that into words for all of us to read. I needed to be reminded that this is a movement and that if it wasn't for the solid Ron Paul supporters keeping the torch on fire, I may not have converted from a lost neocon who was nothing more than one more of the blind sheeple masses. God is on the side of truth and in the end the blessings of liberty remain in our hearts and minds, as long as we have breath. I also choose fight on with a message of truth and pray for more Ron Paul proteges to come forward ready to serve and know and obey the US Constitution.

There is something to be said for being informed, and having family that you know will carry on the fight against those that would see us enslaved. I will leave this earth knowing that my fight is far from over, as I have two very determined daughters that will carry the torch of liberty far after I am an afterthought, and they will not accept party over principal. While my voice may some day diminish, I will leave knowing that the fight will continue, that my girls will not compromise, nor will they be taken by a slick forked tongue in an empty suit. Viva La Revolution, it will live on forever.

Well said platoonleader. Only God knows how long it will take us to finish the race -- this leg of the race ends in August at the Convention in Tampa. It may take four more years, or longer, to finish it completely. One thing is for sure, we are growing in numbers and will win because the youth of this country is the future -- the old GOP neocons are getting smaller each year :o).

... AZ primaries was last Tuesday. I just received massive Ron Paul decals for my car, front, back and side, oh and even a whole new wardrobe.

...I keep on preaching and spreading the message. People at work keep on resisting. When their hearts and minds are open and ready which is just a matter of time, they can keep their pride and not say a word to me but know the TRUTH.

You are right: "We are liberty." We will be this long after the 2012 election has ended. We will be this long after Ron Paul has left this earth. Indeed, we will be this long after we have each left this earth, because so long as the IDEA of liberty exists -- and it always must, because it is truth -- then there will be human beings who embody its spirit.

The 2012 election is just one election. The American presidency, for that matter, is just one office. This fight, this cause, is far broader and greater than that.

All of us can and should continue to promote the ideas of liberty, well after the 2012 campaign has passed, whatever its ultimate result. The rallies won't always have to be "Ron Paul rallies." The message board posts won't always have to be "Ron Paul posts." The YouTube clips won't always have to be "Ron Paul clips." The ideas transcend the man. The ideas transcend us.

Ron Paul will not be here forever, but new human vessels for liberty will emerge.

It is March 2012. I hope to see all of you in March 2013, and March 2014, and beyond. I hope to see all of you assembled at some gathering in your town, just as you were gathered in 2012 on behalf of Ron Paul. I hope to see your posts flooding the comment sections of online articles, where your message is not "elect Ron Paul" but simply "embrace liberty."

That's the beauty and elegance of a principle: The actual arguments never need to change. None of this needs to change, whether Ron Paul happens to be standing at the inaugural podium next January or not.

Keep fighting, always.

Be the vessel!

Don't stop advocating no matter what! Write a book and publish on amazon create space, write a blog, try to get a job with a paper if you can, write op-eds to your paper constantly. It has been said that it takes many different exposures to an idea before someone even considers it, and many more arguments before they accept it. The more you repeat the message, the sooner people will turn to it.

is stuck on your wallet. I have one of the round Ron Paul lapel stickers on my wallet which is in someones face everytime I buy anything.


I have a Ron Paul button on my purse.

Always generates comments. I was at a basketball game about an hour away when a lady said I like your button. I said thank you. She looked me in the eye and said yes, in an ideal world, and sighed.
I also carry Ron Paul can coolers on me and give them out to whomever wants one. My girlfriend and I were snowmobiling this past weekend and we had them on our cans at every place we stopped. Received several positive comments from the good people of Northern Wisconsin. Many that we ran into lived 3-4 hours away so a great way to spread the message!

you can buy a roll of 100 for about 6 bucks on the campaign web site. Someone gave me one for my coat at the Hudsonville Mi rally and I moved it to my wallet after the rally because I would not always be wearing the coat.


Common Sense

I've been searching and hoping for someone to speak like a man about how our response should be in the face of such negativity. Men stand for what they believe in and have convictions even in the face of mounting difficulties. Boys cry and complain and compromise themselves (Did I just describe Santorum?)

What's right is right. It's impossible to give up on it without concluding that it's wrong. Is Ron Paul wrong? Then the fight continues. Simple. Victory or disappointment are irrelevant if your fighting the right cause.
