The 'Three of a Kind' TV ad vs. a new strategy.

Most importantly, I think what really still needs to happen is for Ron Paul advertisements to only mention Ron Paul, and not his other contenders. With all of the blackouts that have been slapped on Ron Paul, why not blackout the other candidates in Ron Paul's ads?

Little secret of McDonald's. They NEVER advertise a competitor's product... good or bad. They ONLY advertise their products with slogan's like "I'm lovin' it". All you are supposed to be thinking about after a McDonald's commercial is about McDonald's... not Burger King, Wendy's, KFC, or Subway.

There is so much GOOD about Ron Paul. You only get about a minute for an advertisement. Though WE understand the 'Three of a Kind' commercial, we still advertise for Gingrich, Santorum, & Romney by putting them in the commercial. If you think of it, Ron Paul's name and info. mentioned about him is considerably less. So, it's good TO US, but not to swing voters, and we do need swing voters.

The marketing/advertising part of this campaign really needs to make this adjustment. I think it would still make a huge difference. ALL Pro, Positive stuff about Ron Paul.

How about an ONLY Ron Paul advertisement, including Ron Paul fans, and the momentum showing how much they love the Ron Paul message?

Bump!!!

Agree 100%...

Put the truth and power of Ron Paul on display, not the deception and impotence of the 3 stooges.

Inspirational!!!

That's what we need right now. Critiquing the other candidates is effective but right now without a beauty contest win we need people to be inspired to win. Frankly that's how Obama did it except with us we actually have some SUBSTANCE with the message!

I also agree that the ads

I also agree that the ads should be more positive and reflecting the great traits of Ron Paul! I've only been following Ron Paul for about 6 months but I have fell in love with everything about him and the message of Liberty! I just feel that there is so many GOOD things about Ron Paul that people need to hear about and you don't get that from running negative ads. I personally enjoy the ads myself but I think it would be more beneficial for the campaign to go positive from now until the nomination. The little exposure that people get see of Ron Paul is already negative from the MSM and the ads are our chance to show the true Ron Paul.

Yes!

This has also been on my mind recently. IT IS TIME TO GO ON THE OFFENSIVE. Attack ads are really DEFENSIVE.

Accentuating the POSITIVES of Ron Paul's message, and there are too many to advertise them all in one commercial, would I believe win far more votes than these negative ads.

The time for negativity is over. The PLAN ad is excellent and any more like it should indeed be used to reach out to the demographics that actually vote, the baby boomers and the senior citizens.

The REVPAC Compassion ad was also miraculous. The SUPPORT OUR TROOPS video could be somewhat edited for TV. The PRO-LIFE ad spelled out Dr. Paul's position which is still misrepresented by his opponents.

YES YES. YES. People are beginning to tire of negative attacks. They are losing their effectiveness. GO POSITIVE!

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

McDonalds

is the best company in the world at purchasing real-estate. They already get the traffic, the sales, and the accessibility.

"I'm Lovin' It." is not the slogan that *built* McDonalds. They've really only been using that since the mid-2000's.

McDonalds built it's empire through tactical and strategic ground work. And some shrewd business decisions.

And that is what we need to do. Quit looking at odds. No matter what monumental effort you are involved in - odds are always against you.

We need you, groundforces, door to door efforts, phone banking, yard signs, creative out of the box liberty ideas like libertypainter, or the Ron Paul dollar stamp that says end the fed, or the blimp, or unique spontaneous ideas that break through the paradigm box which says it's ok to believe between Harry Reid to Rush Limbaugh. As long as you are in there somewhere "you're permitted".

Look at what Michael Boldin did *by himself* with the 10th amendment center. That guy loves liberty and puts his neck on the line every day for it.

We have the belief, that is what will eventually shake things up. People will realize that Ron is right as more and more things happen which he's spoken about.

Adhere to liberty and the Constitution. Take action. Have heart. Understand that it's not about you and how you *feel* that day - but about acquiring the knowledge and skill to naturally fit your talents to be the *pillar of support* for liberty. Not everyone will be Michael Boldin. But we will be ourselves and that alone is a powerful source of cultural-political movements.

Neoconservativism has already lost. Socialism has lost. Liberal economics has lost. The MSM has lost its audience faster then any other form of media.

We are winning. With time and constant pressure even what looks like a worthless lump of coal turns into diamonds.

Keep the faith.

"It does not take a majority to prevail but rather an irate, tireless minority keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."

--Samuel Adams

I agree

Have Doug Weed do it.

BIG BUMP!

I couldn't agree more! I have been thinking this for a long time. I hope they make this happen!!!!

As far as the comment about the campaign try to save on production costs... There are tons of talented artists, designers, and video folks in the grassroots. Why can't the campaign have a grassroots video contest or something?!

Yes. RP should now be set

Yes. RP should now be set free from strategy and advertise himself and the message. It just feels right. It's like quitting a job you hate and doing what you love. I would give more money to promote that than waste time trying to explain how horrid the others are, especially since people don't seem to care.

As far as I'm concerned, those others shouldn't exist in ads. No mention.

Just thinking about this

I was thinking about the 08 Obama ads and the one where it shows him talking to an auditorium full of people and saying something profound or inspiring. They were good commercials because it was real.

I think RP should have something like this, he has to have enough gold nuggets (pun intended) that they can pull together 10 seconds or so of him speaking to a packed room of people.

I know that negative is what people rememeber but I dont think most americans know enough about ron paul. They don't have a reason to vote FOR him. This would give him one. Do a 30 second video with about 10 or so seconds of some good ron paul speech just like Obama did in 08.

It can't hurt, right?

Negativity...

I don't know the significance of the effect, and I know many here have called for the attack ads, but I did run across at least one person who was committed to voting for Ron Paul and "loved" Ron Paul, but was turned off by the negative ads. I would place her "on the edge" concerning support for Paul. Her comment: "Now he has negative ads just like all the others. I don't like that." Her husband also "loved Ron Paul" but was voting for Gingrich as some kind of "strategy" to help Ron Paul. Everything is so very difficult when so much depends on having a rational responsible populace...and you don't have it.

You mean like this one...?

YES!

That is one I mention in my post above.

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

Couldn't agree more! Another

Couldn't agree more!

Another poster wrote, "Where is the money coming from?" PUUUHHHLLLLEASE!!! Look at the FEC reports, the RP campaign has raised and SPENT close to $30 million----did we get our money's worth?

Makes sense. ..but where is

Makes sense. ..but where is the money coming from? I heard Paul mention they stuck with the '3 of a kind' so they would not have to incur the cost of a new production.

Ditto

There is no need to mention the others. Ever. Just promote Paul and keep it simple. Focus on self.

Don't give the others a mention as it's flattering to do so.

Paul is in a completely different ball game.

Bump!

Ron Paul voted Against all bailouts for the banks to be added also. When I would talk to people they had no idea of this.

Thanks.

I think the new theme should be "ONLY Ron Paul."

ONLY Ron Paul predicted the housing crisis.
ONLY Ron Paul will vote against NDAA.
ONLY Ron Paul, (etc. etc. records, policies, ideas that Romney, Gingrich, Santorum, & Obama have been on the opposite side of Ron Paul on.)

Show clips of the packed houses for Ron Paul speaking events & rallies, such as Michigan St.
Show Ron Paul sign bombs such as the one held in Arizona.

All enthusiasm, all momentum, and ONLY Ron Paul.

I think we should take a step back, and think of how we might see these commercials through the eyes of a swing voter, and not just as the Ron Paul choir. (Though I still personally love the 'Three of a Kind' ad.)

Agree 100%

Focus on what Dr.Paul wants to do as President. Keep it simple. There is no need for flags, marching bands, sappy music. Just the message and the character.
