My Greatest Disappointment - The Ron Paul Attack Ads

Watch the ads of Ronald Reagan, John Kennedy, and Robert Kennedy. Their positive attributes were put on display without a mention of the other candidates.

We have a candidate who stands head and shoulders above the other candidates. He is a country doctor who's godly character measures up to a George Washington, who's family life measures up to a Robert Kennedy, who's intellectual capacity measures up to a John Kennedy, and who's charisma measures up to a Ronald Reagan. And yet we take pot shots at men that do not even deserve to be mentioned along side Dr. Ron Paul!!

Dr. Paul has never to my knowledge lowered himself to playing petty political games and now we force him to defend these ads. He defies conventional wisdom. His message unites us…

It breaks my heart. So many of our fellow Americans will never know the deliverance his message of liberty brings because we turned them off by our ads.

And how about you? Would you have gone over the wall for Ron Paul had you been introduced to him through one of these ads??

In 1788 our country needed someone to unit us. They found a man that they all united behind...some were Tories, some were cowards, some were flip-floppers, and some were serial hypocrites...some were just like you.

He united them ALL.

Liberty does that my friends

P.S. Don’t Agree? I challenge you to do your own poll regarding the impact of the $30,000,000 in ads we have purchased to promote the presidency of Ron Paul. Find 10 non Ron Paul supporters who have viewed one of the attack ads. Find one out of the 10 who were influenced to vote for Ron Paul as a result of seeing the ad. My findings were that they have a Negative impact on the viewer and the fact that we have lost ground nationally these past 6 months confirms my findings!

Not attack ads.

You've bought into the media hype when they call these attack ads. An ad that exposes a candidate's record is only an attack ad if it is not the truth. When Ron Paul goes on a media interview, they do everything that they can do to denigrate him and imply that he can't win and indeed they have been completely ignoring him while at the same time they tout these other jerkoffs as if they are the second coming of Christ when in reality to say that they are flawed candidates would be to give them WAY too much credit! Since the media will do nothing to expose their horrendous voting records, the campaign simply must. It wouldn't have to if some of these dumbass media types would pin some of these other guys down on their horrifying records, but since they don't...somebody's got to get the truth out, and that would be Dr. Paul.

I listen to my heart

Can you hear yours? Not your anger or fears but something deeper. Stop looking at Ron Paul through anybody's eyes but your own. I saw the first of these ads about 6 months ago. I told my wife immediately that this, if it continued, would derail the campaign. For years I have studied George Washington, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Samuel Adams, Ronald Regan, and in the last 5 yrs Ron Paul. I have read THEIR WORDS not someone's commentary. Hearing Ron Paul say, "I am Ron Paul and I approve this message" slays me. It is not consistent with the man I have learned to love. The opposition would DO ANYTHING to stop this man. They will do anything! Let that sink in.

Please, do the poll I suggested. Okay, make it five people.

No matter what you feel, I've proven that these ads have turned people away from Ron Paul.

Santorum

Yes, at this point, after seeing the santorum supporters speak, getting through to them is going to be very difficult as far as conversion. We have to get our people out and make others stay home by seeing how fraudelent Santorum is. I think thats what has to be done. Getting out the people should matter the most.

When you're low in the polls you have to try something

Or just stay there and wither on the vine. Also, although roundly decried with crocodile tears, negative ads often work. Ask Newt Gingrich, who was leading in the polls. The big problem is that people who will vote for Rick Santorum over Ron Paul clearly can't be reached with reason or facts, positivity or negativity.

I somewhat agree with your sentiments. But then...

They are not really "Attack" ads as much as "Truth" ads.

He was mostly pointing out their voting records.

Not personally attacking their characters.

You can't run from your voting record.

+1. Yes, Ron Paul is only asking the People

...

to look into the past by and for themselves, reread and relate it to their present condition.

And by the way, the People has no more excuse NOT to do so.

Should they only care enough.

And THEN. . .

How about we point out the truth about Ron Paul's record - NEVER voting for a tax increase - NEVER going against the U.S. Constitution - NEVER voting for a pay increase - and the list goes on and ON. ALL positives - ALL of what The People are looking for - someone with a record that has NOT waffled/varied/morphed - in 30 years.

Truth of Paul's records goes far beyond no taxes, etc....

Paul has been the leading advocate of small gov't, less debt, etc... in Congress for decades. He also has been the only educator on the fed and monetary policy. He brought about the one of the biggest piece of legislation - that is an audit of the fed.

Paul's voting record is pristine and it is not just about not voting for taxes or pay increases, but his voting record is so much more!!!!!

When he sees a piece of legislation, he immediately knows the dark path it is headed - and that is what is required of a leader.

jj

Are you not looking at the crowds that are coming to him?

He is not losing ground... he is gaining by leaps and bounds. Look at the search hits on google over the last 2 months - it is phenomenal increase month by month. He is not going down across the nation, he is going up. And the GOP is more and more scared - they refuse to let him have a single state at this point. Eventually they will get caught. Eventually the truth of election and voter fraud will come out one way or another...He is not losing ground. Americans are waking up in spite of no media coverage.

Personally I agree with the Paul campaign - someone better tell the true record on these guys because the media is certainly not going to bring any of it up.

I agree with you

These ads aren't any attacks really.

People who are uninformed, unaware, or careless won't find anything bad, to report truthfully, about Dr. Ron Paul's record over several decades he stood most of the time alone to denounce the debasement or denial of the Constitution's letter and spirit.

While the rest of the bipartist establishment has an even longer track record of their very same destructive actions, he stood against, there, precisely.

Dr. Ron Paul's campaign, in these ads, just happens to call a cat, "a cat".

A lie to the People is a lie and must be named as such.

Ron Paul is no prophet or more, but he is at least a Good man, and furthermore a Good Christian. He doesn't need to use paraboles to express his disgust and his being outraged by the injustice at play when thieves and gangsters show their true faces.

Those faces of theirs that factually demonstrate their deception, in words spoken out of their mouths as much as in their acts, and in front of the People's Liberty and inalienable rights they were supposed to represent and defend, by the means of, and in the name of the United State of America's Constitution.

Dr. Ron Paul's Revolution introduces something which isn't new but has for long been forgotten or betrayed:

what the word "oath" means.

Yes, but. . .

I respectfully disagree with your comment, "Dr. Ron Paul's campaign, in these ads, just happens to call a cat, "a cat"." Sort of. . .

People can see three sleazy alley cats with the same stripes. The point is - Ron Paul needs to set himself apart from those striped lying thieves.

He is a TOTALLY different "cat" with a COMPLETELY different color. Show them WHY Dr. Paul is different. Spend the peoples money promoting Congressman Dr. Paul's positive platform!

The debates have brought out the lies, flip-flopping and deceit of the others. Back up Ron Paul's great showings at the debates - with awesome ads lifting up the wonderful attributes HE possesses.

Why Ron Paul is different?

Well, in my comment, isn't the word "record" appearing twice, also, and about both political sides, respectively?

Seriously?

Go to "Real Clear Politics":http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/us/republican_presidential_nomination-1452.html Ron Paul is orange.

January 19th was his peak at 14.4%. Today it's 11.3%. Doing the math here - those numbers show a decline.

MILLIONS of good peoples dollars have been spent on these ads! This is the result - declining numbers.

See Dr. Paul's quote, "If we made the wrong diagnosis, we should change the treatment."

Ron Paul's campaign operatives are doing it WRONG.

>>>Ron Paul's<<< record needs to be told - his is TRUTH.

The Crowds are Wonderful

and Dr. Paul looks exhausted

Real Clear Politics has him at 11.3% nationally. He was 14.3 in January.

I speak, on average, to two people a day regarding Ron Paul. At 64 I have witnessed the loss of millions and my wife of 40 years at the hands of local government tyrants. Between my 4 sons who witnessed this they have reached over 200 people in the meetup groups they have formed. One family has affected over 500 for Ron Paul.

If those 1,500 at a rally spent one day the way I do and my sons they would win their state.

But again, those attack ads, more than anything else, have hurt our mission.

Negative ads and High Moral Character are mutually exclusive......

I agree. the 3 of a kind &

I agree. the 3 of a kind & big dog are OK, but typical campaign stuff. Ron Paul's message is far more inspirational and I find any number of very good videos on you tube very substantial & compelling. The ads shouldn't even mention the other candidates. Ron Paul is a Hero!! That should be the message.

Dr. Paul and His Ads Tell It Like It Is

And that's one of the things his admirers love about him, and the enemies of truth hate. It is written in Isaiah, "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!"

only attacked evildoers. Little children were naturally drawn to Him.

Fed-Up

I completely agree with your assessment.

People need to know as much as possible about RonPaul. The MSM hardly ever say anything positive about Dr. Paul. The campaign should focus on the positives, his character, honor, and integrity, and especially his uncompromising position with the lobbyists and special interests. These negative ads show too much of the opponents face and names - they are not effective at winning votes for Ron Paul.

20/20 Vision

You have it!

I think that's the message the writer is trying to bring to the fore. At least that's mine. . .

You're absolutely correct, Ron Paul IS very honorable. To make him have to defend his "Fake" attack commercial amongst the MSM's circus performance of a debate - wow - that was so out of character for him!

Even in interviews when the reporters try to get him to say something nasty about his opponent, as a rule (until all of this negative garbage) Dr. Paul has always been very generous or simply said he didn't want to comment.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who sees this! :)

its funny

cause I remember people criticizing the campaign for not attacking and playing it soft.

Fortune Favors the Bold

That was back in 07-08

When our numbers grew from 1% 1/07 to 7-8% 3/08

15% per month!

It is who/what and how you attack...

and not attacking itself. It is the system to be attacked and attacked in an efficient way. As of Feb 3rd, Alex Jones and Gerlad Celente discussed frustration on not attacking Romney and the system. So, I don't think attacking a couple of individual candidates separately thrilled some of paul supporters.

What is tough and good is the last press release written by Paul himself with his own words and style in speaking out against the us gov't using only un permission.

Commercials Work For Opponent

I agree with you - attack the system that is tearing this country apart!

Advertising repeats repeatedly to brainwash you. Satanorum's face (7 times) and name (5 times), repeated, repeated, then add to that he's the attacked (people feel sorry for him) - who is Ron Paul's campaign decision makers working for? Is an attack of a person the best use of the peoples money?

With all of Ron Paul's positive ideas - the positive direction he wants to lead America - why do WE have to "attack" anything?

Ron Paul even called them all down on attacking each other at a debate and said to focus on the issues. Then his campaign turned him into an attacker too. UGH!

We should leave the attacking to the warmongers. Ron Paul is about PEACE! ;)

I'm curious. How did you come to know Ron Paul?

You and Ron Paul are right. You attack the system, the root causes and symptoms..

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Martin Luther King Jr.

Soft?

I know what you're talking about. . .and you're right.

Ron Paul is being infiltrated by the "we want blood" group - the same as the bloodthirsty R's and D's. . .make'em bleed, leave them gutted on the floor.

Thought we were above that.

None Are As Blind As Those Who Cannot (won't) See

As with the neocon Republicans and the mind-dead robot Democrats - how sad it is that Ron Paul has been infiltrated with those who refuse to even consider a truth - if it's not what they want to see.

This writing doesn't appear to be an implication against the good doctor. This is obviously an attempt at a wake-up call to the "campaign machine" that is running America's last hope into the dirt. . .and wasting the money of hard working people on ineffective negative advertising.

It's not bad enough that we have to watch "them" steal Ron Paul's votes state by state - we get to see his own campaign taking him down with those "tried and true" methods used by both parties of the sheeple.

Four years ago money bombs were created, home-made banners sprang up on overpasses all over American, barns were painted "Ron Paul for President", and a Ron Paul blimp was flying overhead. Innovative POSITIVE thinking prevailed - and his numbers grew!

Four years later his numbers slightly increased - because Cain, Baughman and Perry left the competition. Then, even those increases were lost. LOOK!

Four years ago a whole new R3VOLution started with Americans who could think, see and hear the truth. . .of Ron Paul's POSITIVE message of Peace, Prosperity and Freedom.

Four years later we're saddled with the "yes men/women" - just like the people voting for the warmongering lying thieves, Rom, Ging, Sato. No matter what their "man" or his campaign does - it's great.

Critical thinking - reading - watching - communicating positive ideas - that's what Ron Paul's campaign used to be about.` That's how I came to Ron Paul.

The negative ads are an obvious mistake. Look at the anti-Satanorum ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgNJBdTaKE8 Then compare it to this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwahxXNDrrI

C'mon, be honest, which one makes you feel proud of your candidate and gives you hope for America?

Like Dr. Paul said, "If we made the wrong diagnosis, we should change the treatment." I'm grateful that even Ron Paul admits when mistakes happen. . .too bad most won't emulate his example.

So......

Where are your banners? When did you finish leasing the blimp? Did you organize a Tea Party Anniversary march? I think everyone wants to be positive - help them out!

I agree that 07-08 was more positive. But we were being innovative to get the name out, create a buzz. Now, we are battling for a little fairness against 2 very powerful political parties, all the news networks and their military industrial complex owners, the dumbing down of America for the last 40 years, and the banksters that enslave us. This time they know we are coming.

There are also many more caucuses this year of importance due to the rules changing. For instance, in Missouri it wasn't really efficient to spend my time sign waving and walking my incredibly liberal neighborhood this time, we didn't have a primary.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

Tea Party Is A Sham

Seriously? The Tea Party was co-opted back in 08.

I saw it on the statehouse lawn rally where I live, April 15, 2009. I stupidly thought the event was being organized by normal, every day "We The People" - until I saw all of the political insiders in the back.

Tea Party. . .Ron Paul - supposedly the "father". However, the Tea Party saw fit NOT to endorse their own "father" who was running for President? How does that happen?

Instead they endorse a womanizer who was going to be exposed and drummed out of the race in shame? Now the Tea Party's credibility is trashed. They look like fools.

This is the exact same thing those who are co-opting Ron Paul's campaign, as we type, are trying to do to him. Make him look like a hypocrite - say one thing - do another.

He called all of them down on attacking each other at one of the debates. Congressman Paul said to focus on the issues. They did. Then his campaign turns him into one of THEM - an attacker! Do as I say, not as I do!!

Doing what they do isn't going to bolster Dr. Paul's numbers.

Congressman Paul's message is positive and powerful, in and of itself. I believe that Peace, Freedom, Honor, and Prosperity can stand alone against ANY power the opposition can throw at it. Truth is powerful and it will prevail.
