New Article: Georgia convention has Ron Paul Delegates trying to come out of the woodwork!

I think this a great article - we need to understand - REALLY understand how to hijack these votes like the one county did so that Paul delegates can do that in their own counties. Anyway, I think some people were more than mildly mad!

My comment at the Washington Times:

There has indeed been a hijacking but it is the "party regulars" who are the hijackers. They are all collectivists who support the bipartisan pork feast in Washington. They want to build a world empire and a welfare state with Washington running it and the banking and corporate cartels running Washington all at the expense of the American People.

This is about as far as one can get from the republican ideals of the founding fathers, especially Jefferson and Madison, the authors respectively of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and the founders of the original Republican Party. They were also both libertarians influenced by the philosophy of John Locke. It is these original ideals that even today inspire most Americans that led to America once being a great nation that was indeed the city set on a hill much declaimed by poseurs like Newt Gingrich and Obama but never embraced by them in reality.

The only Presidential candidate from any Party who embodies these quintessentially American ideals is Dr. Ronald E. Paul and he has lived them in the public eye for almost 36 years since he first took his seat in the House of Representatives on April 23, 1976. Even when he returned to his private practice as an ob/gyn physician and surgeon in 1985, for the next 12 years he continued to advance the ideals of the Constitution and the libertarian republicanism of Jefferson and Madison in many fields of endeavour.

He has laid down a public footprint in the Congressional record that can stand the scrutiny of the most particular Constitutionalist and he has predicted and warned America of every economic crisis incurred during these years. He has also authored and presented legislation that would have served to avoid these crises and return America to her founding principles that once set her apart as an exceptional nation, a beacon of Liberty in the world.

Now this "American Exceptionalism" has been hijacked by the banking and corporate cartels, the gang of criminal collectivists in Washington for their own purposes and to advance their own agenda of warmongering and welfarism all the better to fill their pockets with the booty wrested from the wealth of the American People.

The Ron Paul Revolution will restore the Republic to the People even to those who presently ignorantly oppose it. Many have been blinded by the propaganda of the corporate controlled media who are beholden to the same criminals who control Washington. Of course they are doing everything within their considerable power to defeat the Revolution but they will fail.

Ronald Ernest Paul will be the 45th. President of the United States.

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

Party Regulars are the Hijackers?

David: I think you should be aware that a large part of what you call "Party regulars" are in fact NEW party members that got involved a year or so ago because they realized that the GOP is a mess and it will NEVER fix itself without pressure from the INSIDE. Many of us are "Tea Party types" and many do support Ron Paul.
Most of us think it is great that such a large group of young people are getting involved - the problem has probably always been that most young people are too busy trying to chase their own dreams and aspirations to spend any time in politics - I KNOW that was "my excuse" up until not very long ago. And, the same for most of my friends.
But, we simply don't believe that many of the supporters that came en-masse Saturday (and, obviously, last month at the Mass Meeting Conventions) will follow through.
If you think that getting Ron Paul in will solve our problems, and then you can go back to earning a living, you are mistaken. It will take a lot more than that and most of us PRAY that it happens.
In the meantime, we will go to GOP meeting twice a month, fight to get our Constitution back, pay LOTS OF DUES and work every DAY in EVERY WAY that we can to restore our Government and our Country to its former grandeur.
You are absolutely right about Ron's footprint and it is certainly to be respected.
However, there are 545 Elected Officials in Congress and THOUSANDS in the State Assemblies that are actually "running the show". If you think they are going to give up their Political Power for Ron or anyone else without a fight you are a dreamer!
The only way we will change the direction we are going is by getting "Citizen Representatives" into, at least, the House(s) of representatives as well (US as well as the States) and this will take a lot of footwork ALL YEAR LONG by THOUSANDS of dedicated people. And, it will NEVER happen without Term Limits - Nobody gives up Political Power, and the personal wealth that comes with it, willingly.
So, keep it up BUT: if you all are not willing to get MUCH MORE involved - all year long - every year: Don't expect much. Ron Paul will NOT be able to do it himself!

"Party Regulars"

Dick,

My comment was addressed to this statement in the Washington Times article:

"Party regulars called the Paul supporters’ efforts a “hijacking.”

This suggested to me that those opposing the Paul supporters were adherents of the opposing political tendency, namely collectivism, and it was this division that I was speaking to. My own belief is that the best option for Ron Paul supporters is to take over the existing Republican party and return it to its republican roots and away from the neo-conservatism that has penetrated it over the past twenty odd years. This is the situation I was describing.

Ron Paul is the only candidate who offers this possibility so it makes sense for those who are presently Republican Party members to support him if they agree with his republican ideals. Of course as you say many of the opposing inclination may have recently joined the Party. Indeed there must also be those who supported Ron Paul in his 2007/8 run for the Presidency who stayed on to gain positions within the Party hierarchy.

If as you say the "party regulars", presumably those who do not support him, opposed the Ron Paul supporters simply because they do not believe they will stick around after the election to build the Party then that doesn't make much sense. Why oppose people who will not be in any position to change the Party after the election? Surely the only reason they would oppose them is because they disagree with their political philosophy and are concerned that they might take over the positions of influence in the hierarchy.

I agree with you entirely that Ron Paul is only one man and that he will need to have the support of the Congress and the People if the republican ideal is to gain any traction for the future. He has often said that this Revolution is up to the People. As the Presidential nominee he will have very broad coattails and I believe there are many who agree with him that are running for office in the Congress and in State legislatures in November and will be elected with him.

As President he will have even more influence and as he has said the present occupants of the Congress are politicians who wish to keep their seats so they will go along to get along and if the People demand change the politicians will accede to their demands. There is also the question of the power of the Constitution. This is something that I believe many Ron Paul supporters have missed even though Dr. Paul has made it clear that he will use the Constitution to effect radical change. This was in a recent press release from the campaign:

“The Plan to Restore America frees American entrepreneurs and workers from unconstitutional, job-destroying regulations. On my first day as President, I will order the federal bureaucracy to stop enforcing the unconstitutional National Health Care, Dodd-Frank, and Sarbanes-Oxley laws. I will also impose an immediate moratorium on all new regulations."

If one extends this thinking to other existing legislation and Executive Orders, including all those dealing with the unConstitutional War on Drugs and those dealing with internal security like the Patriot Act then it is possible that Dr. Paul will effectively repeal an entire raft of regulations and laws that do not pass the test of Constitutionality. It will not be necessary to seek the approval of Congress.

There are no doubt many other legal manoeuvres along the same line that can be used to accomplish much of his platform. Of course as the Commander in Chief he has the authority to end the unConstitutional wars immediately.

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

Camden County Georgia Convention

I was there at the Camden County Georgia Conventions. I'm now a first time delegate to both district and state convention. You cannot stop an idea whose time has come. We know full well what we are doing and the train isn't due to stop anytime soon.

Good news in Ga!!

This is from our one of our leaders here in Camden on how things went at the Convention here in Camden..

Guys, what an incredible showing we had today! We received 24 of 30 delegate and alternate slots to the District Convention, and we received 14 of 24 delegate and alternate slots to the State Convention. The older GOP group that was the minority today is fuming mad. For the most part, most our group today were all newer or newly (within the last year or so) participating folks. Many of you have been involved in the past, voted republican all your life, but not known how to get involved. It's time to get involved. We need everyone to start attending as many GOP and Tea Party events as possible. We showed how serious we are today, which they have interpreted as arrogance and disrespect. Let's prove them wrong, and show them that we are not a flash in the pan. We have to give credit where credit is due, though. There are a good number of people who have spent their lives, valuable time, and money trailblazing for us here in Camden, and supporting and promoting candidates like Representative Jason Spencer who champion the fight to defend our liberties at the State House. Many of these old time supporters are jumping ship on him because of todays happenings and we will need to support him in EVERY way possible.

Thought you guys might be interested!! It's all about the delegates!!!

"There is only one kind of freedom and that's individual liberty. Our lives come from our creator and our liberty comes from our creator. It has nothing to do with government granting it" - Ron Paul

Heard from some friends back home

...in Walker Co. who said most if not all their delegates nominated for the State convention are Paul supporters. Not the biggest county but not at all what I expected having grown up there.

Why would you use the term "hijack" the vote? That is ridiculous

Hijacking implies that it was taken wrongfully when one abides by the rules it cannot be wrong.

There are no laws being broken.

Please don't frame this in a negative way it paints Ron Paul supporters as political raiders and hooligans of some kind.

We are not hijacking anything we are "DOMINATING" the votes if anything because we are "PARTICIPATING" in the nominating process with "ENTHUSIASM" and "PERSEVERANCE" and "DETERMINATION" for the defense of the Constitution and Liberty.

Do you think people will be prouder to be "hijackers" or do you think they'd prefer to be called "engaged participants" or "activists" or anything other than "hijackers?" You know who hijackers are? Terrorists...

History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid.
Dwight D. Eisenhower

Excellent point. We are

Excellent point. We are DOMINATING not hijacking. Hijacking has negative connotations.

BUMP

The media is damn good at

The media is damn good at brainwashing.

It has been one of the most interesting things to watch how they "deal" with Ron Paul.

Republican Guard

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Didn't we have to worry about the old "REPUBLICAN GUARD" prior to the infamous "REGIME CHANGE" in Iraq?

Looks like we've got to do the same here in the U.S.A.
Get the OLD REPUBLICAN GUARDS out of the way before we can have a regime change in Washington D.C.

Develop a majority - early!

How do you take over the conventions? - By having a majority!!!!
How do you have a majority? - Start early, call, meet in person all your Ron Paul donors and known supporters. Ask them get on board to be a delegate. Do not only rely on a handful of volunteers. The single biggest strategic mistake made in my county is we did not engage the donors. We only contacted people who are active in the Ron Paul group of which only less than 40% got on the delegate process.

Typically a mid-large size GA county, only 120+ people even show up to the GOP convention meetings. But it is not difficult to find at least 75 committed Ron Paul supporters to take a majority. But you must start early and contact every known supporter in person. Email is not enough!!! Pursue them!! You also need to decentralize the educational info regarding the delegate process. EVERY potential delegate need to be armed with strong knowledge on how to handle different scenarios. Take initiatives. Use your own judgement. Take action. Those are the lessons I want to share with those who have not started their delegate process. If the very first step you only engaged 30% of the potential supporters to be involved as delegate, every step further you will be reduced even more.

Majority

If you want our Constitution back you will have to do it the way they took it away from us!
Odious as it is, they did it by hard work over a long time.
If you think that you are going to correct all the corruption in our government by one grand showing of force - you are a DREAMER.
Help direct all the young people that have showed up at the conventions all over the country into BEING INVOLVED - ALL the time - every month at ALL the GOP meetings.
Become members of the Executive Committees and all the other various committees.
The "Old Timers" are unhappy because they have been doing ALL the work and paying all the money up to now and none of you were anywhere to be seen.
They would LOVE IT if you get involved.
Prove that you are not just another "flash in the pan".

I was at the Dekalb county

I was at the Dekalb county meeting, and I absolutely agree. To have success at delegate meetings, get organized. I suggest the following:

*Get to know all RP supporters eligible for becoming a delegate or alternate to your convention. Get to know faces and names. Join meet up groups. Meet and share information and strategy. Make use of RP donor lists and reach out to these people and encourage them to attend. Help each other! So much of this is a numbers game! You want to try to build a voting bloc of RP supporters to vote each other into every slot you can.

*Show up to every level (precinct, county, district, state). Even if you are not a delegate, but are "only" an alternate, show up, because alternates can stand in for delegates that are not present, which is bound to happen to some extent. Even if you cannot participate at all, you still may be able to attend as an observer.

*Learn Robert's Rules of Order and be prepared to use it (resources abound on the web). Stand up for yourself. Demand to be recognized by the presiding chair. Be bold. Speak up. Don't be afraid to slow the meeting down by stating "Point of order" or "Point of information." Take no crap. Film or otherwise document the entire process to ensure they are complying with their own rules. Do whatever you can while following the rules and remaining polite. You have a right to an open, fair process, but sometimes you have to demand that right.

*Learn the rules for your GOP, how the process should work, how many delegates and alternates your area is allowed to nominate. Know what should happen so you can know if something is amiss.

Having the numbers, showing up, and being prepared, organized, and bold are the keys! Good luck to everyone!

At Dekalb County

If you don't stress that the only real way to succeed is to to be there ALL of the time it will come to naught.
The "old timers' don't believe you will follow through.
Most of them are at all the monthly and bi-monthly meetings, they pay their dues, which finance all the county GOP expenses and they get out and knock on doors.
They would be very happy to see all the young people get TRULY involved - ALL the time.
If you think you can come once or twice every few years, pay your $25 and change the corruption you are dreaming.
The Career Politicians are not going to give up their Political Power, and the personal wealth that comes with it, willingly!
It took them YEARS to build it up and it will take us YEARS to take it down.
Ron Paul, and nobody else, can do it alone.
You are going to have to get involved in ALL the elected offices (and all the UN-elected ones too) to actually regain our Constitution.

A few other points:1) Don't

A few other points:

1) Don't be a jerk. Be nice. We know who we support what the philosophy is, but you don't want to show up and immediately shove things down peoples throat. It may come to that, but it doesn't have to start out that way.
Several people had some really good conversations with the old guard about monetary policy, fiat currency, etc.
In another county, I know some supporters came off too jerkish at first and ticked people off.

2) Show up EARLY. Many people were there over an hour and a half early. Get around shake hands get to know the people you will be voting with. Some old guard people were really standoffish but after just chatting with them, saying I'm excited to be involved in the process, SMILING, I could see a little ice crack.

3) I can't stress 2 enough, even with the organization and knowledge of RP supporters that were there, we found plenty of supporters by just talking. It can get really hard to keep track of everything in the middle of a floor fight no matter how organized you are.

4) As long as the rules are followed, do not take things personal and don't attack personally and finally but most importantly

5) Majority rules! It's all a numbers game. If you have conventions, just SHOW UP. If we spend just half as much time getting people out to be delegates (it is a little harder) as GOTV the message of liberty would be heard loud at clear at the local level, then at the county level, then at the state level and finally at the national level.

True and excellent points..

What was the role of Randy Evans in this caucase

I keep hearing the different information, could anyone clarify what specifically he claimed or said that he has on affiliation with Gingrich?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_Evans

Is that the person on Wiki page that some people are talking about?

Does anyone has video what is going on.

This is important since we moving into convention/state delegate we need to understand the process completely, get with state Ron Paul campaign to clear things out.

Post any info or comment here.

I spoke with him and he claimed

I spoke with him and he claimed to be "an advisor to all the campings" at which point someone said "even Dr. Paul" to which he said "well not Paul".

This is just for the record, I doubt there is much truth to anything he says.

"Give me Liberty or give me death." Patrick Henry

During our Cobb convention I asked Randy Evams...

If he was Gingrich's legal council. He bluntly said no. I wonder if this was a lie, and I wonder if it was caught on tape.

The Red Coats are coming!

Hijack is an improper phrase...

Everything is above-board and the rules are being followed so I personally prefer "steer", "direct", "guide", "route", or even "shepherd" re: the delegate process.

"Hijack" is much more inflammatory and paints a picture of people being forced against their will to do something or some kind of improper shenanigans going on.

When Ron Paul wins in Tampa, you can bet your last dollar his opponents will cry foul and try to paint that very picture.

Just my 2 cents.

I made the same comment above

EVERYONE should learn to recognize that when you use this negative terminology people like Maddow will immediately choose to use them as the way to describe RP supporters and cite the very words in the articles that appear on DP and the RP Forums.

Don't frame the RP people negatively for the media they do it on their own enough.

History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid.

Ron Paul pamphlets - free downloads!

Ron Paul pamphlets on Israel, Abortion and the Fed can be downloaded from the following web site. They are written from an evangelical perspective and are very effective with Christians who want to know the truth.

http://userpages.bright.net/~av1611/PresidentRonPaul.htm

Federal Reserve

Your pamphlet on the Federal Reserve is one of the best I have read. One item that may be wrong is the description of the patriarch of the Rothschild family as "Baron" Mayer Amschel Rothschild.

His grandson Lionel the son of Nathan Rothschild who went to London to set up the British branch of the family was granted a barony by the Crown but I am pretty sure that neither his father not his grandfather were granted titles of nobility.

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

Sanctity of Life Act

The pamphlet on Dr. Paul's position on abortion is very well written. However it does include an important error. Dr. Paul has sponsored the Sanctity of Life Act as well as the We the People Act. The latter does transfer the abortion issue to its rightful jurisdiction but the former defines life as beginning at conception which you have opposed in your pamphlet as being a likely dangerous action. Check out his record here on legislation in this regard:

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

I wonder how delegates we have that have crossed to the other side for now, I don't even want to know, they better just keep it zipped for now. This strategy is fair play in my opinion, they want to black out Ron Paul, well here comes the uppercut bitches!!!!!
