polk county convention (des moines)

At my precinct Paul got 18% of the vote, 20% of the delegates. 4 of the caucusers were Santorum supporters(he got 35% or so of the caucus vote at the precinct . . and then me, the lone Paul supporter.

I somehow got 2 of them to vote for me, I voted for myself and the other guy who was elected. I even told em I was a Paul supporter.

We wound up with 50% of the delegates for my precinct. The other 50% went to Santorum.

1 delegate from our precinct did technically become a delegate for a different precinct because there we open spots.... but we have a solid 50% in my precinct. Now I just have to get someone to work on April 21 for me.

TL/DR: I'm going to state and districts in Iowa. You're welcome.

if im not a delegate is there

if im not a delegate is there any incentive to attend the state delegation? and where will it be in iowa? im from des moines.

Actually, I don't know how the GOP operates there, but often, a delegation has the ability to seat people even if they weren't chosen in advance, so if you go, and they're short delegates, sometimes you can be named on the spot.

The reason they might do this is to have a bigger say for their area.

Contact the campaign and/or the local GOP.
