Update from Ronnie Paul visit to Honolulu, Hawaii
Submitted by IngotNews.com on Sun, 03/11/2012 - 06:08Hey everyone, so Ronnie Paul (Ron Paul's oldest son) spoke today to a full room at an event hosted by a hotel in Waikiki. Campaign manager, John Tate, was also there and they both spoke, as well as took (MANY) questions. I have seen Ron Paul speak several times before, and I was very impressed by today. Ronnie Paul gave a very enthusiastic talk about the message and was really on top of his game. Also in attendance at the event was Hawaii State Senator Sam Slom (R) and the chairman of the Hawaii GOP David Chang. David Chang mentioned how the caucus is open to all residents of Hawaii, and how Ron Paul was the only candidate to have poll watchers for all 42 precincts (huge applause after this remark by the way) so the vote (which will be all paper ballot) should be fair.
A couple other notable things I heard today were that John Tate said that Ron Paul is likely to pick up 30-40 of the delegates in Virginia, and that they will be picked at the state convention. I was not aware of this, so this was great news to hear. Tate also mentioned that we are likely to get AT LEAST 12/14 (maybe even all 14) delegates in Clark County, Nevada.
I left the event feeling much more optimistic of our chances. Obviously, we are still a long shot - but we can do this. We picked up our first popular vote win today in The Virgin Islands, to go along with all the states we have delegate wins in. I would say that Romney is probably the "favorite" to win Hawaii, but I have seen absolutely no sign of the Romney campaign in Hawaii (no signs, no support, no mention), but there is plenty of Paul support. We plastered the University of Hawaii campus with posters after the event today, so hopefully we can get a good turnout for the caucus on Tuesday. The Hawaii caucus will be a proportional delegate selection. Oh, and I have seen the Ron Paul ad on tv a couple times, even on ESPN, so his presence is being felt over here in Hawaii!!

VA delegate
I wish I could be a VA delegate. I keep waiting to hear something or have direction. New to this delegate thing.
aloha

I love me some poll watchers....
but I love me some paper ballets even more!!
Hawaii - the Maine Echo
So, way over on the East, Maine's caucus is foul with corruption (or, at best, incompetence), and way out West, Hawai'i will try to show Maine how to do it right.
ME & HI both have two congressional districts.
So whats our real delegate
So whats our real delegate count?
I don't understand. Did I
I don't understand. Did I miss something? Are the Virgin Islands a state? How come voting???
US territories can participate in the nomination
of Presidential candidates within each party but they cannot vote in the general election in November.
These non-states can take part in the primary:
American Samoa
District of Columbia
Guam
Northern Mariana Islands
Puerto Rico
Virgin Islands
Tsai..so THIS is the reason
Tsai..so THIS is the reason that Obama once said we had 57 states? I have always wondered how he came up with that..so..but they have delegates and they become electors? Very hard to understand...where did this come from?
Not Quite
They send delegations to Tampa (Natl. Convention), but they do not select Electors to the Electoral College. They have primary participation, but not general election participation.
As a former Hawaii (Maui)
As a former Hawaii (Maui) resident, I'm expecting a great showing for Dr. Paul! We have characteristics of laid back and don't give a crap attitudes. We want to live on our own and live within our means. Maui No Ka 'Oi!
He and Rand look alike.
I hope he sends him to Puerto Rico, or even better if Dr. Paul did a surprise stop there.

30-40 delegates in Virginia?
30-40 delegates in Virginia? When this is confirmed make a new post about that!
Our supporters might become
the delegates but most of them will be bound to vote for Romney on the first ballot.
Abstain from the first vote!
Abstain from the first vote! You don't have to vote for someone that you are bound to. You can Abstain
To arms! To arms! The Redcoats are coming!
Any precedent for that?
I didn't know that. Is there precedent?
That is great
Ron Paul will most likely not win the first round of voting anyway. Getting the delegates even though hey are bound is key! =)
wow, great news coming from all over the country...hawaii
looks like the next win after virgin islands!
Great job on the poll watchers!
Maybe take these with you and inform the people that have no acces to the true agendas the candidates represent..
We have these free flyers that change minds and hearts after people check them out. In combination wit Super brochures a winner!

Lets win the Info War!
I Was There!
It was a large group and it was exciting for us! Ronnie Paul and his wife were very good spokesmen/women. GOP chair was there. I don't think everyone in the GOP is ready- theres a change in the air. Ron Paul supporters are entering elections and entering the delegate process. Thats - way to do it.
Great
thanks for the update!
If Ronnie is anything like Ron we need him in the legislature
We should groom him for the presidency in the future. We can have Ron for two terms, Rand for two terms, and Ronnie for two terms. 24 years of President Paul!

Don't forget Linda
Linda Paul 2028 (give or take). First Female President!
Funny enough...this was actually brought up at the event
Somebody in the audience asked whether Ron would run for his 2nd term or if Rand would step in and run in his place (I like the optimism), and, I think it was Ronnie, responded jokingly something like "we don't want to start a dynasty here". Everyone laughed. And it brought up thoughts in my head of a USA with all "Paul" presidents - Ron, Rand, grandchildren, etc. on & on. It gave me a good chuckle. But there are more liberty-minded people out there than just Paul's so we will take over soon!!!

LoL -- loved your comment.
Made me smile.
NICE...
..
NICE
..
Thank you for the post
Give them hell Hawaii!
Ron Paul!!!!
Go and win the Aloha state for us! Victory is near, I feel it in my blood!! He needs to win Honululu to win, so hopefully Ronnie stays there until the caucus and can continue to influence voters. Maybe if he gives another speech, the campaign could hand out the informational flyers afterwards, so everyone can give them to friends and put them in the city and on windshields?
