Rick Santorum: "Vote for Ron Paul" if you want limited government.

I thought this had to be a joke, but clicked on it anyway. And sure enough, he said it. I'd think this really needs to go viral....

A self-declared independent voter (but seemingly geared toward Ron Paul) attended a Rick Santorum event and asked what the reasoning was for Santorum choosing to vote for big government programs like Medicare Part D, No Child Left Behind, and five debt ceiling increases (which allowed government to borrow and spend more money).

In response and obviously backed into a corner given that no answer could be portrayed as conservative, Rick Santorum told the voter to just vote for Ron Paul then.

Santorum encourages votes for Ron Paul

I heard that Santorum won more votes just because earlier this week he encouraged people that love liberty to vote for Ron Paul! So in this way Santorum took more votes this time while Ron Paul took the delegates.

Positive support for Ron Paul ideas! Support from the Restoration and Liberty Movement on http://cristianpaduraru.com

wow! chickenhawk santorum says, "vote for RON PAUL"

the RP campaign should use this in their next ad !

OF COURSE santorum is NOT a genuine (constitutional) conservative. how is that not obvious? the fact that the GOP has succeed in selling him as some sort of champion for conservatism boggles the mind. i've never witnessed anything in my entire life more incredible than that.

No, he just knows what a Ron

No, he just knows what a Ron Paul supporter is going to say to him at this point. He's on the campaign trail and has heard it all by now. Too much is being read into his statement.

He's obviously not for limited government only Ron has talked about that.

The breakdown

Rick Santorum: Handsome guy. Ugly soul.

Mitt Romney: Slick-looking guy. Coarse politics.

Newt Gingrich: Piggy guy. Snaky rhetoric.

Ron Paul: Older guy. Timeless message; eternal truths.

How does this video have ANYTHING on THIS video?!?!

Rick Santorum shouldn't even be allowed on the Republican ticket.

I posted this video a couple of weeks ago and I got a fraction that this clip got.

Start using the REAL meat would you?!

that YT video was posted here 1-5-12 and got quite a huge response:

In fact, I glad you brought it back up...time for another tweet or two!

And then this was posted the next day, a rant against Santorum:

"If you want something you've never had before, you have to do something you've never done before." Debra Medina

I agree with the first comment...

..."Rick Santorum is a F-in idiot. Ron Paul 2012."

That about sums it up.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

Santorum's Biggest Gaffe of all!

Wow Rick! You really lost it! And that statement just proved a point that has been brewing in a lot of people's minds lately:

I'm a Professor, my name is Wall

Well said, Frothy!

That's the best thing Frothy has said in a very long time.

Santorum simply doesn't say the word "vote" here.

Listen to it multiple times by clicking again and again on the red progress bar at the 08 second mark. The closest I can come to making out what he actually said still can't be quite right, but it's a hell of a lot closer than "Vote for Ron Paul." I heard something like "Frame a call for Ron Paul."

Be careful about these things. This is the second such bogus interpretation of a YouTube audio bite I've pointed out. If they go viral, it will only embarrass us.

I hear "(something that is one syllable) for Ron Paul"

Could this be why you have so many down votes?

You can't get clean in a dirty bathtub.

I'm betting you're not the

I'm betting you're not the person friends go to when they want to know what song lyrics are.

"Vote for Ron Paul. That's what you should do."

That's what I heard after listening several times.
In comparison with the good small-government conservative citizen who was giving Mr. Santorum a bad day, the candidate's voice was muted and somewhat hard to hear.

Muted or not though, I'm grateful that Mr. Santorum is finally providing some sound advice.

I thought the questioner's interrogation was beautiful - nothing like harassing them with the truth.

Television: Why do you think they call it "programming"?

Your ears

Get them checked.

Get the c*m out?

Proof Ron Paul is not racist

he's losing badly in the deep south.

Grow Up

Yeah, because collectivism targeting a geographic region is SO much better than collectivism targeting a race. (end sarcasm)

Seriously, stupid, collectivist garbage like your post is exactly what we should NOT be doing.

The proof is in his record as a doctor, as a lawmaker, his policies, and his philosophy.

the people

that vote for this guy have to be complete sheeple. Just look at his record of hipocrasy.

"He's this eccentric Ghandi-Like figure that you cant touch with the normal bribes that people respond to."

Ron Paul was on cnbc this morning http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=3000078291

Nassim Taleb is CNBC on now (11:00 am est) promoting RP.

Great interview Dr Paul!!

Well done!! He nailed it and the interviewers let him speak.

You can't get clean in a dirty bathtub.

Good interview...

should be on the front page.

The campaign should make an

The campaign should make an ad out of this footgage.

It would be devestating...

"You keep using that word..."

Oh what courage! When asked about his voting record and what limited government means to him, Rick Santorum courageously.....wait, oh wait. Maybe we should ask him what "COURAGE" means to him.

In the words of the great Inigo Montoya,"You keep using that word; I do not think it means what you think it means."

a big deal.

Rick Santorum used to be a conservative

But then he took an arrow to the knee.

Spread The Word In Your Household

I urge all of you to spread the word amongst your household and families and friends. Every person whose eyes we open will get us closer to victory. Let's Do It.

Can DailyPaul show the candidate's itinerary?

By the way, one of the biggest problems I have with this forum is that I rarely find any clue as to where the candidate plans to go until maybe the last minute. I believe that this deficiency can be remedied.

Does anyone have a good source of such info now?

has his itinerary. Unless you are talking about Santorum. It should be on his website, or Politico has the itinerary for all the candidates.

Why isn't Ron Paul in Hawaii? Why didn't he campaign there?

One thing I don't understand is why Ron Paul didn't pull out the stops to win "somewhere" such as in Hawaii. I guess I understand that it would have been a waste to go to the Virgin Islands. Puerto Rico is out of the question because it's a welfare state?

But I could have seen Ron Paul at the Royal Hilton on Waikiki Beach last night making a major sensation and a speech full of anti-Santorum sound bites that would have been remembered for decades.

But that didn't happen. Why? Who is running his campaign? It's possible that his time was better spent organizing midwestern constituencies for the takeover of the GOP by 2016 or 2020. But where is such cogent commentary on DailyPaul?

Regarding Santorum: This video doesn't show any encouraging broadside against this religious freak by Ron Paul. Ron Paul is simply not going after him in a way that could easily destroy him: Santorum's belief that "the pursuit of happiness doesn't mean doing what you want but what you ought to do".

That's the kind of unacceptable attitude that the RP campaign could successfully present LOUDLY as totally against everything Americans believe in and worse than the position of the left.

But he's not doing that. It comes across like, deep down inside, he's really as socially conservative and OK with authoritarianism as the next deep south "conservative".

Ron Paul is often getting ignored by the media because he really isn't picking specific fights and making sound bites that are totally relevant, especially toward Santorum's candidacy. He isn't any more media savvy than what gets him the attention he does get.

Why isn't Ron Paul getting on the evening news with a timely remark that "the Tea Party is dead because it was coopted by the religious right for the same old, same old authoritarian agenda". The editor of Reason just said that. Why can't RP? It's not as if the Tea Party isn't dead and hasn't been coopted by the religious right.

Ron Paul is a hero for our time and his delegate strategy is slowly taking over the GOP for the 2016 and 2020 election cycles.

But there could easily arise a better speaker who knows how to play the media more skillfully with relevant soundbites and more pointed attacks against crazies like Santorum.

I don't buy it that the media blackout is 100% because they don't like what he says.

He (we) have to learn how to be relevant to the immediate daily news cycle.
