AWARD-WINNING ANTI-WAR SATIRE
TO DONATE TO RON PAUL CAMPAIGN

Zombie Musical Comedy Takes Aim at the
War on Terror and the Mainstream Media

(Columbia, MO) The zombie muscial comedy and biting anti-war satire, "Song of the Dead," recently released on DVD, will give
a portion of its profits to Republican anti-war presidential
candidate Ron Paul, and perhaps other anti-war candidates, said
the feature film's writer/director, Chip Gubera.

"If our film can not only entertain people, but help change
the world in some small way, then I'm all for it,"
said Mr. Gubera, who teaches film post-production in the
Information Technology program at the University of Missouri
in Columbia, MO. He said he'll donate $1.00 to Mr. Paul, for
each film sold on the film's web site (www.songofthedead.com),
up to the legal limit.

Mr. Gubera describes "Song of the Dead" as "'Night of the Living
Dead' meets The Who's 'Tommy,' with a splash of 'Shaun of the
Dead.'"

The internationally award-winning zombie musical comes complete
with sexy dancing zombies and a rock opera score. Political satire
congeals with buckets of blood that appeals equally to fans
from a multitude of genres.

All across America, the Jihad Resurrection Virus (JRV)
seeps into the pores of the dead, waking them from
their sleep and ghoulishly transforming peaceful
corpses into flesh-devouring zombies. News anchors and
government officials are conveniently vague about the
circumstances surrounding the biological release of
JRV and subsequent zombie infestation.

The President, played by Reggie Bannister, a veteran of some
40 horror films ("Phantasm," "Wishmaster," and "Bubba
Ho-Tep"), calls upon Americans to unite and resist the
treacherous "terrorist attack." (Mr. Bannister's
hilarious presidential song-and-dance can be seen on YouTube:

At the end, the music video urges viewers to "Vote for Ron Paul.")

While the international zombie crisis brews, a Missouri
family, trapped in a country cabin, struggles to cope with
existing internal conflicts, while battling these
bloody, smelly "zombie terrorists." The invasive TV and radio
news parrots the President's pronouncements and drums up
fear and suspicion within the group.

While the story line is standard zombie fare, the catchy,
toe-tapping tunes and political satire give the movie an
edgy tone and originality that resonates with audiences. The
film has won awards at several festivals, including "Best Feature"
at the Kansas City Filmmaker's Jubilee, "Best Music" at the Estepona Horror and Fantasy Film Festival" (Spain), and "Audience Choice" and a Special Jury Award, "Most Original Idea," at the
Rojo Sangre Buenos Aires Festival (Argentina).

So why donate part of his profits to a presidential campaign?
"While I don't agree with everything Ron Paul says," said Gubera,
who normally votes Democratic, "I like his stand on the war,
foreign policy, and civil liberties. He's making a real impact
on the election. If I max out on my Ron Paul donations, I might
give some money to [Dennis] Kucinich, as well," he said referring
to the anti-war Democratic candidate.

The "Song of the Dead" DVD and Soundtrack can be purchased on
the web site: www.songofthedead.com for $15 (plus $3 shipping and

I went to the University of MO and lived in Columbia for 8 years. I know the film maker, Chip Gubera. He used to play in a band, that I can't remember the name of, when he was an undergrad. I'd run into him at shows and stuff and my band might have played with his once. Jeez, its a small r3VOLution :) (but not for long)
