Looks like HiJinks in Hawaii, No longer a cacaus, but a primary!

I live on Windward Oahu and it seems interesting that the only voting site for the whole side of this Island is set at the elementary school right next to the Mormon Temple. Explained to me that it was no longer a cacaus, but just a primary. Was also led to believe that it was an open cacaus, but you have to register as a Republican to vote. And the Republican Party wonders why they can't compete in Hawaii!

It's a caucus
where you just vote your preference and can leave. It's only open for 6-8pm and polling locations are obviously limited.
It's run by the party, most importantly, and not the state. That seems to be the key determinant in whether a contest is a primary.
stay and watch the count! video!

Untrue
It was never supposed to be open. It's only "open" in that you can register on the spot as a Republican. But you either have to be a Republican, or register at the site as one.
As for the caucus/primary thing, I read caucus, too.
Thanks for the correction. I
