COVER UP: Up To 20 US Troops Behind Kandahar Blood Bath - Afghan Probe

An Afghan parliamentary investigation team has implicated up to 20 US troops in the massacre of 16 civilians in Kandahar early on Sunday morning. It contradicts NATO's account that insists one rogue soldier was behind the slaughter.

The team of Afghan lawmakers has spent two days collating reports from witnesses, survivors and inhabitants of the villages where the tragedy took place.

“We are convinced that one soldier cannot kill so many people in two villages within one hour at the same time, and the 16 civilians, most of them children and women, have been killed by the two groups,” investigator Hamizai Lali told Afghan News.

Lali also said their investigations led them to believe 15 to 20 US soldiers had been involved in the killings. He appealed to the international community to ensure that the responsible parties were brought to justice, stressing the Afghan parliament would not rest until the killers were prosecuted.

"If the international community does not play its role in punishing the perpetrators, the Wolesi Jirga [parliament] would declare foreign troops as occupying forces,” he said.
The head of the Afghan parliamentary investigation, Sayed Ishaq Gillani, told the BBC that witnesses report seeing helicopters dropping chaff during the attack, a measure used to hide targets from ground attack.

Ever hear of the Nuremberg trials?

W E A K logic

OP: "Do you really believe that our service members[...]are capable of this kind of cold-blooded murder en masse?"
*Yes
OP: "Have atrocities happened? Of course. Individuals make bad decisions and go rogue. Sometimes they are strong leaders and bring others along with them"
*Oh you agree too!

OP: "And what should I, as an 8 year veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, think of you who would accept that idea as even plausible?"

As a fellow Veteran, you should be embarrassed. Trying to silence people out of some sort of guilt for your "service" is shameful. FreedomIsntFree? Jeez, man. I hope that's a reference to our fallen and forgotten brothers and not, again, your work in the military.

I provided real analysis not this fluff.

Quit saying conspiracy theory

And just say "things I refuse to put thought into"

I agree.....

Key words..."Afghan probe..." - I know our own main stream media SUX and I wouldn't put it past top military officials and our government to lie to us...AGAIN....but we certainly can't trust Afghans that want us out of their country but will gladly take our money first...hahaha

Lots of shallow thinking here

.

I don't get it

So why would we try to cover up that there was more than 1 solider involved? Do you guys think it was all planned out or something?

One "nutcase" does not smear the whole war effort...

...but if many U.S. troops were involved, then it becomes a My Lai type massacre that sullies both the U.S. and its troops, causing the public to question not only the "goodness" of our policies, but the "goodness" of our soldiers. This would be bad press, so the knee-jerk response is to cover-up.

This is not to say that more than one person perpetrated the Kandahar atrocities.

I had a feeling there was more than one

Firstly, because they never report the truth. Secondly, it's better to blame it on some lone nut to avoid the appearance of a systemic breakdown.

So once again the American

So once again the American government lies to us. Nothing new to be seen here, move along.

Murder is defense

Maybe Obama ordered it? It's legal/moral then, right?

RT News? No Bias?

The source of this article is RT (Russian Today) News.

RT News is 100% funded by the Russian Government.

So, naturally, they are totally fair, balanced, and unbiased in their presentation of the news.

I like to think of the Daily Paul as a good, credible source of information.

Articles such at this do NOT help the credibility of this site.

I agree.....

We need to remember people in our movement are considered "ripe for the picking" to the old soviet empire types...we need to be careful we don't fall into a trap.... But...they have come out with some pretty good stuff our media won't touch... We just got to keep it all in perspective...

Oh that's right

We need to remember our people are idiots

RT does have a bias-a bias

RT does have a bias-a bias towards libertarians. It is the most Ron Paul friendly news outlet in the world imo. They often have people who contribute to Lew Rockwell's site on as guest analysts, something foxnews, cnn, abc news etc. etc. rarely if ever do. Alyone Monkovki even guest blogs for libertarian Radely Balko sometimes.

If you're worried about RT Bias,

Then please feel free to watch CNN, Fox, CBS, NBC, ABC, et al., for the Real Truth, as revealed by US Government press releases and edited by bankster-controlled corporate media.

Have you found a lot of patently untrue stories on Russia Today, Skip? I've found it to be a better source than our own MSM -- and one more friendly to Ron Paul, by the way.

NOT RT JOURNALISM

Actually,
the original source is PAN. See my original post for more details.

OP: "Articles such at this do NOT help the credibility of this site."
No, but lack of research and critical thinking can hurt one's credibility; so, in that respect, we agree.

Dismissing a story because it may be contrary to the official story and throwing out claims of hurting the community's credibility is pretty half-baked.

From what little is available out there about the PAN, it is hard to tell if these stories are legit.

That being said, I am happy to know that if there is another story out there that someone has the courage to publish it, and others forward it.

RT

The KGB Putin Russian gangster network.

RT should focus on the 1 per cent in Moscow and do some good for their own people for once.

US, get out of Afghanistan!

They have no good reason at all for even being there.
IF there ever was a reason, there is no reason anymore.
They lied us in there, lied us all the way thru it, and are still lying about it to us. It was all a Neocon masturbatory fantasy of bloodlust.

We really have a whole sack of worthless turds up there in Washington DC, that need to be FLUSHED PRONTO!

Prosecuting them for war crimes wouldn't be a bad idea, either.
I think Washington DC is a looney bin for the criminally insane.

yeah ok

1) We have few, if any "friends" in Afghanistan. The country is made up entirely of opportunists ($ and power).

2) 15-20 of our soldiers on a rampage would have taken out far, far more than 16 Aghans.

3) It is not uncommon in Afghanistan for single family home to mean 12 or some other large number of people living in the house.

So no, it is not shocking that the accused could have killed 16 on his own in a short period of time.

RT

1. RT is the source for this story throughout the entire Newsmedia world - as far as I can tell.
2. If this were in fact the case I can't imagine Al-Jazeera wouldn't be running a something similar (& first?).
4. Remaining objective, I find their work in the motherland similar to FOX in homeland

Possibility that there is more to the story than what the MSM is pushing? 100%.
The thing is I dislike Russian COINTEL as much as Pentagon COINTEL.

Most importantly, end the wars.

Thoughts: Don't believe it until they explicitly deny it; then one can know, with a little more reasonable certainty, that it's the truth.
