Santorum and Romney are BOTH getting hammered in Puerto Rico

As most of you probably already know by know, Rick Santorum recently hurt his image among Puerto Ricans by telling them that they will have to switch to English if they want to become a state.

Now, however, it looks as if Mitt Romney is also in trouble over there as well, both because of his border-hawk rhetoric and because he ran a radio ad attacking Santorum for voting to confirm Justice Sotomayor, an ad that ticked off Gov. Fortuno (who was supposed to have been his closest ally in PR).

So, could the backlash against both Santorum and Romney play into our hands? I doubt Puerto Ricans will vote for Gingrich (remember, he called Sotomayor a "Latina woman racist", and said that Spanish was the language of living in a ghetto, so he has more baggage than both Romney and Santorum combined).

Ron Paul is starting to look more and more like a potential protest vote, and he will definitely have a chance to win PR, assuming Fortuno and Co. don't rig the vote. Karger and Roemer are also on the ballot, but I doubt they're going to get much support.

means we need to get the emssage out..

do we have any spanish flyers?

Its again aproblem of reachign out to the people.
Once we have accomplished that we can win. but without the people knowing that the alternative to slick ricky and mittens is Ron Paul..

I am from Puerto Rico. I

I am from Puerto Rico. I believe that to win the hearts of my people, we have to communicate in spanish. It has been our main language since before we where part of the United States. Most puertorricans still living in the island use spanish exclusively to communicate. Puertorrican love freedom, but many years of nanny state have made many members of my country addicts of welfare. Hate to admitted. The target for Dr. Paul should be just like in the mainland, the younger crowd, specially through music. I believe there a chance for every part of this great nation to pursuit and achieve the ideals of personal responsability and freedom.

I don't remember where the

Statistic is, but Puerto Ricans, over HALF of the population receives money from the US GOVT. Don't want to bust your bubble but doubt Ron will win.

I THOUGHT Ron spoke fluent spanish. Am I wrong about that.

It would be good for him to go to San Juan, Ponce and Mayaguez to go have a few rallies in spanish.

Freedom may be worth searching for.

I have given up on my fellow Americans, (not DPers) as I will not shed one more calorie trying to awaken anyone else who is not a critical thinker and does not have the inherent feeling that something is wrong.

This is not about winning the

This is not about winning the beauty contest. Its about spreading the message. There is alot of puertorricans that do not live on the island, but here in mainland. If Dr. Paul makes an appearance in P.R., with the backing of some of the local personalities, it would create a ripple effect that would reach the puertorricans living here. The campaing does need to contact people that puertorrican are familiar with. The other problem is that most of the senators with puertorrican background serving in congress are pro-obama.

I do believe that the fact that the troops support the Doctor will change the minds of many.

Spread the Message!!!

Buenos Dias

We have to get the message out in Puerto Rico that the troops support Ron Paul.
Ron Paul has received twice as many donations from ordinary troops and vets than the rest of the GOP candidates combined.
He has received more donations than all the GOP candidates plus Obama combined.

Romney has received the endorsement of the Governor of Puerto Rico.
Romney wants to launch another pointless war - this time against Iran.
Iran has a much larger military capability than Iraq did.
Iran also has a strong capability in cyber warfare - they took over and landed a US drone, flying in Iranian airspace (over a 100 miles in).
The neocons are also lining up Venezuela as a possible target.

Romney would bankrupt the US. Do Puerto Rican's want to become like Greece?
Romney would rather spend cash on cruise missiles and bunker busters than welfare payments.
Puerto Rican's welfare payments are much safer under a Ron Paul presidency than a Romney or Obama one (Obama is also bankrupting the country).
Their job prospects are many times better.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

I know if I was in PR

...I'd be getting hammered on some of that exquisite rum they have down that way, and talking to my fellow countrymen about how they can make themselves more free.

Be joyful, love life. We're fighting the most righteous kind of fight. Every time I think about this stuff I can't help but grin.

Politico can no longer be

Politico can no longer be considered credible. They think there are only two candidates in the race. I hope Ron wins PR and Politico will have to eat those words.

Speaking spanish to the awfully big rallies in Puerto Rico....

Would go a really long ways. Send out some trained on site staff and have Judge Napolitano interview them live on air.

Muy bien!
