Ron Paul Influences the Content of Prime Time Comedy Show, The OfficeSubmitted by jgibbons on Sat, 03/17/2012 - 01:13
I'm absolutely amazed at how far this movement has gone. Ron Paul may not be winning the GOP beauty contests but his views and the philosophy of liberty is spreading like a wildfire. We all know the Fed has finally become an issue discussed in Presidential debates, on business news networks and on regular MSM... but it's also taking over pop culture and Hollywood. Norm McDonald, Joe Rogan and Bill Burr (all comedians) openly endorse Paul.
I was watching one of my favorite shows, The Office, tonight and the following dialogue took place between two of the major characters Jim and Dwight.
Dwight is told he's getting a raise.
Jim: "The raise isn't real."
Dwight: "Money isn't real ever since we got off the Gold Standard."
The same creators of the Office created the character Ron Swanson on the show "Parks and Recreation." Swanson is an outspoken libertarian on the show Video of the Character Discussing Politics
Bill Burr is a comedian who jokes about the Gold Standard during many of his skits. He actually talks about Ron Paul candidly here.
During Burr's "Let it Go" DVD he talks about the Gold Standard.
Who would have thought that four years ago the Fed and monetary policy would actually be an issue brought up in so many outlets including mainstream comedy? I've read before that comedy is the last true beacon of free speech. It does appear that comedians are almost always the most politically intelligent entertainers making excellent observations outside of mainstream perception (e.g., SouthPark.)
The R3VOLUTION may not be winning this particular primary battle but we're winning the war thanks to Dr. Paul!
Ron Paul 2012! R3VOLUTION FTW!
