VIDEO : Cop Arrests NBC Reporter, Says Your First Amendment Right Can Be Terminated

“I don’t care about no damn lawsuit” officer yells at media

Two NBC journalists were handcuffed and threatened by Chicago police after attempting to report on the murder of a 6-year-old girl yesterday, NBC Chicago reports.
Another NBC journalist was also detained by police outside Mt. Sinai Hospital, where the girl had been taken following a fatal shooting during city wide violence over the weekend.
Police were called to the hospital shortly after reporters arrived on the scene. The journalists said they has already moved away from a public sidewalk and across the street at the request of the police.

One police officer was then caught on camera telling other members of the media “Your First Amendment right can be terminated if you’re creating a scene or whatever. Your First Amendment right has got limitations.”

When the reporters asked for clarification on how they were creating a scene, the officer replied, “Your presence is creating a scene.”

Im half inclined

to believe, maybe the cops know that the media is evil perhaps? I sure hope so..

Conceal carry may be the way to go

but just because you are conceal carry does not mean you have to hide your weapon strapped to you. We must take full advantage of our 2nd Ammendment rights which means lock and load. Trust me your rights will be 100% more corrected if you have a pistol strapped to your side in plain view. Police officers demand respect because they have the law and a gun, if you have a gun they will respect you 50% more than if you don't have one strapped on you. If you are a patriot and have not registered conceal and carry than you are missing the boat. Keep that shit in plain view and strapped on at all times in states where it is legal. Win half the battle.

Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must. like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.-Thomas Paine

The R3volution requires action, not observation!!!!

could vary state to state, but i think a "concealed weapons permit" means it needs to be concealed. pretty sure there are laws against having them flaunted on your hip for obvious threatening issues.

wrong...concealed carry

Wrong concealed carry just means you may carry it concealed...anyone who is not a felon has the right to open carry a weapon...just do a search on open carry on youtube...a lot of those guys are just doing it to provoke law enforcement...but they are right you have the right to open carry and not even have to identify yourself as long as you are doing nothing wrong. This right should definately be defended...its really the last right that has any teeth...its the right that gave the others what teeth they once had.

Can't beat em take em over

as the mainstream continues it's stealth merger into the alternative stream

"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace."

The cop might have cared if the reporter...

had been armed and had exercised 2nd Amendment rights against false arrest. Believe me, this is coming to a "neighborhood near you."

If terrorists hate us for our freedoms,

does it mean they're starting to like us?

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom — go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, an

Now the media will start to realize the police don't give a sh1t about them either. I wish they pulled this on Wolf Blitzer and busted his face against a car and planted drugs on him. How fast do you think the story of police corruption and the police state would travel then?

So that's insane... but for some levity...

Check out this gif:

LOL! "F*ck the police!" ;)

sadly the cop is right, obama has opened up the gates of hell on us americans. You got to be one blind mofo to even dare vote from him again regardless of party affiliation. face it the two party system is dead, LET THE LIBERTARIANS REIGN IT IN!!

RON PAUL 2012!!

"He's this eccentric Ghandi-Like figure that you cant touch with the normal bribes that people respond to."
the man Doug Wead on DR. RON PAUL

I bet...

When more of this starts happening across the country, maybe the media will FINALLY wake up, come to it's senses and start doing it's job. Have they really reported on NDAA, the Patriot Act, presidential assassinations, etc.? I haven't seen it. All I've seen from them, the media, are the attempts to marginalize the only candidate that opposes these for candidates that support them. When it starts happening to THEM, maybe they'll finally catch on! Maybe they'll finally realize that Ron Paul and his supporters AREN'T "kooks" and "also rans." And I must confess, a part of me can't wait to see more of this happen, see more of THEM go through it first hand and they "get theirs" in that sense. IF that ever happens, we will win this war!

Ok, my little "rant" for the day... maybe :)

I hope you are right, however...

... I fear that the head of NBC news will just throw their reporters under the bus. After all, he's the one making big money working under TPTB.

bold words, this is what happens when you hide behind a shield.

"Observe the masses, and do the opposite."

Thank You Chicago police!

Mainstraem Presstitutes needed that!

They are whores and now they are getting a lesson in what it means to lose their Constitutional protections.

Comment I found on linked story.

“Citizens may resist unlawful arrest to the point of taking an arresting officer’s life if necessary.” Plummer v. State, 136 Ind. 306. This premise was upheld by the Supreme Court of the United States in the case: John Bad Elk v. U.S., 177 U.S. 529. The Court stated: “Where the officer is killed in the course of the disorder which naturally accompanies an attempted arrest that is resisted, the law looks with very different eyes upon the transaction, when the officer had the right to make the arrest, from what it does if the officer had no right. What may be murder in the first case might be nothing more than manslaughter in the other, or the facts might show that no offense had been committed.”

“An arrest made with a defective warrant, or one issued without affidavit, or one that fails to allege a crime is within jurisdiction, and one who is being arrested, may resist arrest and break away. lf the arresting officer is killed by one who is so resisting, the killing will be no more than an involuntary manslaughter.” Housh v. People, 75 111. 491; reaffirmed and quoted in State v. Leach, 7 Conn. 452; State v. Gleason, 32 Kan. 245; Ballard v. State, 43 Ohio 349; State v Rousseau, 241 P. 2d 447; State v. Spaulding, 34 Minn. 3621.

“When a person, being without fault, is in a place where he has a right to be, is violently assaulted, he may, without retreating, repel by force, and if, in the reasonable exercise of his right of self defense, his assailant is killed, he is justified.” Runyan v. State, 57 Ind. 80; Miller v. State, 74 Ind. 1.

“These principles apply as well to an officer attempting to make an arrest, who abuses his authority and transcends the bounds thereof by the use of unnecessary force and violence, as they do to a private individual who unlawfully uses such force and violence.” Jones v. State, 26 Tex. App. I; Beaverts v. State, 4 Tex. App. 1 75; Skidmore v. State, 43 Tex. 93, 903.

“An illegal arrest is an assault and battery. The person so attempted to be restrained of his liberty has the same right to use force in defending himself as he would in repelling any other assault and battery.” (State v. Robinson, 145 ME. 77, 72 ATL. 260).

“Each person has the right to resist an unlawful arrest. In such a case, the person attempting the arrest stands in the position of a wrongdoer and may be resisted by the use of force, as in self- defense.” (State v. Mobley, 240 N.C. 476, 83 S.E. 2d 100).

“One may come to the aid of another being unlawfully arrested, just as he may where one is being assaulted, molested, raped or kidnapped. Thus it is not an offense to liberate one from the unlawful custody of an officer, even though he may have submitted to such custody, without resistance.” (Adams v. State, 121 Ga. 16, 48 S.E. 910).

“Story affirmed the right of self-defense by persons held illegally. In his own writings, he had admitted that ‘a situation could arise in which the checks-and-balances principle ceased to work and the various branches of government concurred in a gross usurpation.’ There would be no usual remedy by changing the law or passing an amendment to the Constitution, should the oppressed party be a minority. Story concluded, ‘If there be any remedy at all … it is a remedy never provided for by human institutions.’ That was the ‘ultimate right of all human beings in extreme cases to resist oppression, and to apply force against ruinous injustice.’” (From Mutiny on the Amistad by Howard Jones, Oxford University Press, 1987, an account of the reading of the decision in the case by Justice Joseph Story of the Supreme Court.

As for grounds for arrest: “The carrying of arms in a quiet, peaceable, and orderly manner, concealed on or about the person, is not a breach of the peace. Nor does such an act of itself, lead to a breach of the peace.” (Wharton’s Criminal and Civil Procedure, 12th Ed., Vol.2: Judy v. Lashley, 5 W. Va. 628, 41 S.E. 197)

Don't spread poisonous ideas...

We need the police....most of them are small government supporters anyway.

If it seems like you are going to get arrested "unlawfully", and really roughed up, resist arrest & tape every part of the arrest on video. Use your taser etc. to make it clear, your rights aren't for sale.

Have everything written down too. They won't finish the arrest, period. Everyone can then walk away.

i respect you but I strongly

i respect you but I strongly disagree. Please consider looking into this:

Each of those cases prove the cops lost...

And they lost *in court* multiple times, forcing the law to be changed to allow recording devices everywhere. All the time.

And that's exactly my point...you don't kill/shoot police or talk about it ever. The only time anyone would be forced to do that, is if they were about to take your life.

That's self defense: charges dropped.
Any other time is unlawful.

Did you notice that those

Did you notice that those cases where the cops lost were rare exceptions? HAve a look at the rest of that blog if yo uget a chance, its Radley Balko, one of the best libertarian journalists out there.

Who's going to be the first to

pull the trigger on an unconstitutional arrest.

Whoever it is better...

1.) ... know the law and their rights like the back of their hand.
2.) ... think fast like James Bond.
3.) ... be a quick draw/sharp shooter.
4.) ... have money and a damn good lawyer.
5.) ... not be afraid of prison.

I've got

2, 3 and 5.. okay on 1 if I have 4.

Hypothetically speaking, I'd wait till after I was out of jail anyway.. ya know.. after they thought they had gotten away with it.

I saw that too

Good advice

All that is true but it

All that is true but it really doesn't matter what the law says. We don't live under rule of law anymore. There is one law for the common people and anthoer one for government employees. Try resisting a falsr arrest or beating and you will be mercilessly killed by the police and villified by the badge licking press.

I might as well live like an outlaw then

if what you say is true.

Yea, I'm sorry to say it but

Yea, I'm sorry to say it but thats pretty much how it is. We have no more control over how our lives are governed from the local police all the way up to the federal level than citizens of the Soviet Union did.

Well technically you're correct

but I've always done what I wanted to do and I'll continue to do so. The laws or the officials spouting those laws don't make me a free man. My mindset does that.

I pray that I never run into a situation like that because I may get locked up but when I get out, no law will stop me.

great info

good info "AmericanConcerns". I would be the type to protect myself from the illegal actions of corrupt cops, but I would be weary that past court decisions would hold up in todays world. Give me Liberty or give me death.I took the oath to uphold the constitution foreign and DOMESTIC.

Hey NBC..

welcome to our world. The world of Ron Paul supporters. LMAO Ron Paul has tried and tried to warn these simple minded sheep, but they won't listen, till they get that door knock some night.
