If Dr. Paul loses,

then you have to select someonelse, so Dr. Paul's staff will stick you with their choice - which is obviously Romney.

Pointless and counterproductive

To vote for anyone but Paul would be counter productive. Look if any republican other than Paul actually wins the presidency in 2012 then in 2016 we will not have a primary and be stuck with Romney/Santorum. No one on the Dems side will run on what we believe, yes someone over there may come along that is anti war/pro civil liberties but one cannot have true liberty without economic liberty and we would face even a more up hill battle trying to get someone on a D ticket that understands economics than getting a pro civil liberties candidate on the R ballot.

Now one could argue having a republican really mess things up from 2012-2016 would make way for a true 3rd party to emerge, but having an R in would only galvanize the disenfranchised Dems to rally behind a Hillary or Giffords etc. If an R is in they arent going to care about any 3rd party, it will be the ABR or ABS just like so many R's are ABO this time.

We have to transform the GOP if we hope to gain liberty without a collapse. And having Santorum or Romney in power will kill any chance of that happening anytime soon. So it's Paul or Obama in 2012 period end of discussion.

All of this is of course if you think this country will still exist in this form in 2016 without a Paul presidency. I wouldn't count on that which is why I get upset when people look forward to Rand/Judge/Woods in 2016, there may not be a 2016 at the rate were going....

"So this is how liberty dies, to thunderous applause"

No, I don't HAVE to select

No, I don't HAVE to select someone else if Dr. Paul is not the republican nominee. I MAY select someone else (possibly Gary Johnson) or I MAY write in Ron Paul, or I MAY just not cast a vote for president in November. But I definitely don't HAVE to vote for Romney.

But, Paul

and his platform will be tied to whom he supports in some fashion as well as the party he supports. So you will still be tied to gop, regardless of who you vote for.

Voted -1

I am at the beck and call of NO ONE. Only **I** choose who I will vote for.

Read - Cyropaedia as the founding fathers did.

The movie is from a comic book series as does not reflect history. The Spartans had a military oligarchy based on (the Helots) slavery. The Achaemenid Empire, had religious freedom, no slavery (unlike the Hellenistic and Roman regimes), women had contract rights, standards of weights measures, a canal that connected the Red Sea to the Nile, a flat 10% tax, pony express systems, a message from Ethiopia could and did get to the Indus valley in 3 days. Cyrus the Great is the only non - Hebrew (Old Testament) who was considered a messiah and I could go on and on about this fabulous cosmopolitan civilization.
Beware of all the decades of anti – Persian / Iranian propaganda and no I am not Iranian either, but I sure respect the culture of which WE OWE SO MUCH TO THEM! I was born in the fading light of our republic and working to rekindle that (fire alter) light. “Good thoughts, good words and good deeds…” - Zarathustra

Not to be too vulgar...

But I'd happily punch myself in the nuts repeatedly before voting for Mittens/Rickypoo/Newt over Ron Paul.

And if you did...

I'd punch you in the nutz repeatedly out of simple frustration...

So, seems to me, either way, you get punched in the nutz...and then you still have to shave in the mirror. Ya might as well get something good out of it, and once the pain recedes, feel better about yourself for your choices.

Vote...for...Ron Paul in 2012!

;-o

Wha? .....hey....who stole my country?

Hahhaha... upvote for truth! :)

(please, just so we're all clear here... if I ever meet ya'll in real life... please do NOT punch me in the nuts. I will always vote for Freedom.)

;)

Snicker

This thread made me laugh more than once...don't worry...I'm old, and I got me a hitch in my get-a-long so, you will easily be able to outrun me.

Wha? .....hey....who stole my country?

Asking any Republican or American to support someone else....

....Other than Ron Paul, is like asking them to vote for a Democrat.

In actuality, it IS voting for a Democrat.

So pick up your bootstraps, lets ride all the way to the finish line!
