Talk Radio Diaries - Rush is a ToolSubmitted by HuskerSkier on Mon, 03/19/2012 - 20:02
Everyone here knows that Talk Radio is nothing more than a voice piece for the Republican Establishment, but for some reason many "tea-partiers" still hang on to their every word. Even some of my friends that are 'Ron Paul or No One at All' people can't get enough Levin, Hannity, and Rush. I am slowly breaking them of this by continually pointing out how hypocritical they are, but for some reason once the propaganda takes hold it's hard to reverse the trend.
I've started this thread to point out specific examples of TR's absolute absurdity. I don't listen to TR all the time, it would make me go mad, but today I tuned in and Rush absolutely blew me away.
RUSH IS A TOOL
Rush referenced a Washington Post article, published Sunday, that revealed that House Republicans, led by Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor, were more than willing to compromise, proposing $800 billion in new taxes.
What struck rush about was, and I'll quote him “What this story points out is that Obama purposefully, intentionally lied to the American people when he told us that the Republicans were not interested in raising taxes, that they wanted a cuts-only solution to the debt crisis... It turns out that John Boehner and Eric Cantor had indeed offered $800 billion in tax increases. Obama just lied. He just flat out lied to the American people about the Republicans and their position in the debt negotiations. Flat-out lied.”
Rush, for some reason, seemed surprised that obama lied and felt like the real story was to point this out. Why was Rush not concerned about Boehner or Cantor repeatedly lieing to the American people during the negotiations by declaring tax hikes "off the table"? Why is Rush not questioning Boehner's willingness to stand with Obama's lie? Why was Rush not concerned about the Republicans, "our guys", willing to raise taxes in order to give the government the ability to borrow more? Seriously, that goes against every thing tea partiers say their for, but Mr Two if by Tea didn't seem to care.
Well, we all know that the the reason Rush isn't concerned about these things is because he is an establishment tool, but something slipped out in his monologue that was very revealing. Rush Limbaugh admitted that he knew this because Boehner had admitted it to him in a meeting they had had at the time. Not only that, but Rush stuttered in the middle of the admission which I interpreted as 'whoops, didn't want to admit that'.
It could be that I misinterpreted the stutter, but the question still remains: Why was Boehner and Rush meeting? In my experiences you have meetings with people you are working with or doing business with...
I have a great deal of suspicion that this goes on, and here is a good piece of evidence to reinforce that suspicion.
Thought, Comments, Other Examples???
