Major Leading U.S. Presidential Candidate to be "Outed" 1:30pm today
Major Leading U.S. Presidential Candidate to be "Outed" prior to NH Hampshire Primary
One of this year's leading candidates will be "Swift-Boated" in a new book to be announced next Monday, January 7th at 1:30 p.m. in the Murrow Room at the National Press Club in Washington.
One candidate is about to be challenged – with hard and cold facts, presented cogently by an author and former political activist and decorated military veteran who shares this candidate's party affiliation – and who has known the candidate personally since their college days.
This book is supported by 10 pages of meticulously-researched end-notes supporting every factual assertion about the candidate's failure to shoot straight with the American people, and this breach-of-faith's implications for the Presidency.
If you're serious about covering the 2008 Presidential campaign, you won't want to miss this announcement – and you will want to meet the author.
To RSVP for this event, a briefing or guest appearance, please visit:

Immediately after the press announcement, the author will be available for interviews or you may contact me at dtoor@attentiongroup.com or at 770-777-9489.

I think Ron Paul and his
I think Ron Paul and his supporters should distance themselves as far away from this as possible. It's more bs set up to bring us down.
You people crying "religious
You people crying "religious intolerance" make me sick. If we assume this book were factually correct (I'm not saying that it is), then the author is perfectly justified in pointing out the facts to a population that is largely ignorant as to Mormon beliefs. If true (again, DON'T tell me it isn't true, I'm saying IF it were), it would indeed be rather concerning to many of us, myself included. Theocracies are very authoritarian. I don't like authoritarian government.
If the book is factually incorrect, it will be shot down. But stop demanding that religion be given a special place in discussion. It is no different than any other subject. It can be critiqued, questioned and even ridiculed, just like all beliefs can be and should be.
Religion does not exist in a vacuum.

Dont get it
ok, i read two pages of comments and I still don't get it. Who was attacked by who and for what? Whoever is behind this doesn't appear to be very effective since i don't see anything on any MSM site.
I don't know I thought McCain was going to be swift boated

Can someone give us an update of who it was and what it was? Thanks
Smells like Ed Rollins
The footprint is distinctively Ed Rollins/Huckabee. Keep an arms length away from such vitriol. Huck and Rollins have a lot of these little deals set up.
Socialists are Everywhere
I hope that Dr. Paul....
comes out in defense of Mitt. It will make him look good. I loved it when he released that statement saying the Mitt's religion should have nothing to do with it.
Agreed
.
I agree with Dr. Paul on these matters
Attacking a man on his beliefs is wrong AND it does not work.
In the long run, this may help Romney as people empathize with this more than join the attack.
There is a sick little game going on with Romney's religion in this campaign. I do not know if his people are involved, but, this smells like a setup. Those automated "attack phone calls" earlier in the campaign could have been Mitt's people too. It could not have been McCain's people, they aren't that stupid.
He may gain from this, and, if he does he's even sleazier than I thought he was.
He did not look so good in the debate the other day and I feel that the powers that be are in full support of McCain.
I think McCain in front would be good for Dr. Paul and this is why.
Dr. Paul does not buy one ounce of McCain's sh%$.
The doc just ignores him and stays on track. McCain wacked Romney the other night and Romney bit. Romney isn't experienced enough to handle experienced politicians.
McCain attacks the doc and the doc just smiles and shakes his head.
Anger is turned against a man as quickly as he shows it.
The doc is too smart to get emotional about an attack. He just wacks the truth.
WE WANT McCAIN. He is beatable. He is waaay too far out on the right. Do you get it? He is a war person in a campaign that is becoming an anti war campaign.
Hillary may drop out? Might be a game. These people are too smart. If she does I bet $100 she gets "begged to get back in before the convention." This woman is consumed with the desire for power. Never write her off.
If it isn't, Obama is beatable. He is too soft on issues.
Things are looking good and it is way too early to assign any emotions to any of this.
We are picking up 700 new meetup members a day. The tide is turning, Fox is on the run the doc is slowly and steadily winning the race. Folks, we will have a total of 100,000 meetup members by next week. This is how we change the world.

Movin' On Up...
That story will definitely move us up in the polls. Fantastic news. Now if someone credible will come out and expose Huckbee for the worthless piece of neo-con poop he is.
Joe
Sadly
This may actually backfire in Romney's favor. I think most people have already come to grips with his Mormon faith, and really this assertion doesn't hold water. If Romney was that good of a Mormon (blindly obeying everything they tell him), he would never have been pro-choice in the first place.
This is really a terrible publicity stunt that has done nothing but draw more attention to Romney. Even if it does end up hurting him, it does little to nothing to help Ron Paul.
It will help Romney
This is why I suspect his people have involvement.

Sorry to say, you're right
Does zero for Dr. Paul.
If I were Romney, I would be hiring private investigators to see if any other campaign was behind this and THAT would be the scandal. Romney really ought to be looking at what the Hackster has been up to behind the scenes. He has the money for real investigations.
I would imagine a counter-attacks are being considered. Things are going to get nasty fast in the presidential race, on both sides.
unless paul restates the position that one's religious choice
should not be a factor.
Then it will help him - I think
This is sad religious bigotry
Willard always seemed like a jack mormon to me anyway. I suppose it is some old disgruntled friend that wants to make some money, and screw his old friend.
If it's Romney it's a big waste of time
unless they can pay for advertisement on tv theres no story

ITS ABOUT MITT ROMNEY
The press release is right. I used to date a Mormon. They have to do whatever their "prophet" tells them to because he is the voice of God.
God trumps everything including the constitution.
This really isn't an expose rather than the press not researching anything about Mormonism.
This is different from the pope. The pope doesn't claim to be a prophet of God. A prophet is exactly what is sounds like (MOSES, anyone?). If GOD tells, through his mormon prophet, Romney to do something, Romney MUST obey the will of GOD. Constitutional or not.
This is INCORRECT
We (LDS) do not HAVE to do anything just because a prophet "says so." That would violate one of the prime beliefs we have regarding God's gift of "free agency" or the right to choose--what we in this forum would call Liberty. It is for this reason that official LDS doctrine upholds the Constitution and commanding us to befriend it (i.e. defend and find people that will defend it). It is not plastic-hair (and answers) nor flip-flops that takes my (mormon) vote away from Romney--it's because he isn't as vehement of a defender of the Constitution as RP. He should be. It's in the doctrine of his religion. Given what Mitt Romney SHOULD know about his religion and what EVERY SINGLE PROPHET has said on the matter, we should have two people up on debate stages proclaiming peace, limited gov't and strict upholding of the Constitution. As with other things, he "chooses" not to follow the counsel.
Yeah but...
We have seen the track record of politicians and religion.
Mitt didn't get where he has by "listening to God"
This is a disgusting thing in American Politics...
"Revelation Press", huh? Do
"Revelation Press", huh? Do you suppose the religious right wants this book to sink Mitt so their crazy uncle McCain can clearly step into their spotlight as new favorite son?

"The main thing that I learned about conspiracy theory is that conspiracy theorists actually believe in a conspiracy because that is more comforting. The truth of the world is that it is chaotic..." —Alan Moore
Yeah
Just more OMG he's a mormon BS from the religious right... lol, if not for Dr. Paul that book would make me vote for Romney.
Sounds just like the "Elect a catholic and the pope will run the US" crap you heard when JFK was running.
I wouldn't be suprised if Huckabee was well aware of this. Another one of those "I'm running a clean campaign, but btw Romney is a Mormon"
Common Sense Issues
I wouldn't doubt the Hackster's campaign is part of this. The posts about push-pull polling from this Common Sense Issues organization (posted here last night as a NH Paulite was called by them) confirm what a sleeze he is. Also living on the edge of the law as Common Sense is recruiting precent captains for Hackster, yet claiming to be not affiliated with his campaign, so they can take in more money.
Shameful. Hackster is dangerous.
A surprise and a nothing
It's just another hit piece of Romney's relgion. I don't even get it, just doesn't seem to have anything scandalous other than claiming Romney will serve Mormon causes over political onces if he's elected. That's not exactly this first time this has come up.
The interesting part was the last sentence -- the author was the leader of Nevada Republicans for John Kerry in 2004!!!! Is this a Democrat party hit piece? Or just trying to boost McCain as this author defected to Kerry after Bush got the nomination or both or what?
I'm confused.
If it's Hillary, nothing will stick.
It'll just be book # 55 of the series.
If it's McCain, people will be appalled that someone would question a former POW.
If it's Romney, it'll go well with Huckabee's quip about Americans not wanting a President who looks like the guy who laid them off.
If it's Huckabee, it might hurt him with Evangelicals at first, but it would be played as him being victimized and they'd accept anything negative as covered by Grace. The timing might be too late for him to recover, though.
Defend Liberty!
Interesting
Do we even know it's a republican ??..How about Clinton ??
It's
It's Mitt...

Ok, this is absolutely distasteful and ridiculous
I read the above. Give me a freakin' break. The prophet of the church, currently Gordon B. Hinckley would have ABSOLUTELY no control, influence, or otherwise of "President Mitt." Period. End of story. Ridiculous to even write this kind of crap. The quote from Joseph Smith isn't even correct.
Now, what this author SHOULD HAVE FOCUSED ON instead is the glaring deficiency in either Mitt's understanding of or refusal to follow church doctrine and prophet's counsels on the Constitution and role of gov't. If every single mormon took 15 minutes to look through the material at www.latterdayconservative.com they would see what a fraud Mitt is.

McCain?
Why would it be McCain?
He's been in the senate for a gazillion years now, and a presidential candidate in the past. If there was dirt on him, itd be out by now.
