The Hag and Charlie Daniels are doing big things

The individual who refuses to defend his rights when called by his Government, deserves to be a slave, and must be punished as an enemy of his country and friend to her foe. - Andrew Jackson

When musical legends start talking, fans listen. Nice song for sure!

In Liberty

damn i never really listened to country music

grew up in LA listening to hip hop (not the radio bs) but real hip hop. and now i just realized merle haggard is like the mos def of country music and his "god bless johnny cash" is like a country equivalent to a "big l rest in peace" (kudos to anyone who got that).

damn liberty does really bring people together, while mainstream heads on both sides, hip hop and country, bicker with each other about whose music is more ignorant.

the corporate media neocons have their hand in everything, just like they co-opted the tea party/occupy wall street, they've co-opted real hip hop and real country music...giving a bad name to both.

Im a Mos Def fan...and a huge Merle fan

...and so, with respect, I will say that maybe you meant "Mos Def is the Merle Haggard of Hip-Hop" and not the other way around...Merle is a legend, Mos Def is getting there. ;)
You should listen to more "old country"...shoot, most of those guys were wild non-conformists...in fact, most of those crazy bastards have shot a bandmate or done something similar. In fact,Merle Haggard, in 1958, was an inmate at San Quintin (burglary) on the outskirts of San Francisco, and heard Johnny Cash play there and became a singer after that.

If you listen to all of Haggard's music

you realize he was probably much more like a FOX type neo-con. I love his music for being good music, but a lot of his lyrics are telling as to what his thoughts were.

Please... Merle is a die hard democrat. He wrote a song for Hillary Clintons campaign last go around which she chose not to use. I have been a fan of merle's for my entire life and he is very political but his views are def not anywhere close to that of Fox news. His is a Libertarian and he just dont know it :)

Fox Neocon...Democrat...

Fox Neocon...Democrat...

All the same difference.

Resist the temptation to feed the trolls.

Rest my case

These few, off-hand, just for example, are not the thoughts of a liberal democrat.

Pro-Drug war ....

This new song is different

Not sure exactly what that says about Merle.

What do you think of this? www.theonlinemarket.org

He knew who his audience was

He's not stupid.

Come on now.

Come on now.

If I were Mitt Romney I'd bet $10,000

that you never hear this on FM radio. I know I haven't in the last 4-5 years since he released this.

*May the only ones to touch your junk, be the ones you want to touch your junk.*

I wonder if there's any chance he might endorse RP...

I am happy he's promoting Dr Paul's message of Liberty.

And a sensible foreign policy.

Free includes debt-free!
