Ron Paul's name up and down the beach in TampaSubmitted by unsustainabilit... on Thu, 03/22/2012 - 21:50
I was just reminded of the cleverest advertising idea I ever saw. At a business conference years ago, held at a beach-front location, Paine Webber was giving out flip-flops with their name cut out on the bottom, so when you wore the free flip-flops (something you wouldn't normally bring for a business conference--or a political convention), every step left an impression in the sand. When I visited the beach on the last day I was tickled to see "Paine Webber Paine Webber Paine Webber Paine Webber" stamped thousands of times all over the shore. I still have the shoes.
I have no idea who produced those, or what they cost, but I've always wanted to see someone use the idea again. The Republican Convention could be the place....anyone?
