Being handed a dieing nation

During my few years in college so far there has been one thing many teachers have told me and that is "We created these problems now it's your turn to fix them." And here is one man that is going to do that very thing!

Dr. Paul staying strong

It is interesting to note how crowds react to RP in the various states. A couple of the more worked up crowds I have seen were in Idaho and Illinois - as well as in New Hampshire after the early second place finish. If the crowd is raucous, RP tends to get more raucous. This crowd in Louisiana was welcoming and supportive at the right times - but calm enough to take in Ron Paul's excellent exposition. This was one of Dr. Paul's more interesting and well-delivered talks, although when I read through the comments on this site, it seems that somebody has offered that observation after almost every one of his speeches.

Good afternoon. I appreciate

Good afternoon.

I appreciate the frank, straight-forward message the Ron Paul puts forth. I appreciate his stalwart, never-wavering views on our Economic Policy.

While I support Barack Obama, and may continue to do so, I also support Ron Paul.

I am beginning to realize that so many of the issues that plague our economy, country, relations around the world, are simply beyond the power of this or any President to control.

Our Monetary Policy is the root of all our ills. I am amazed of how little I actually understood of our economic policy just six months ago. For example:

1. I didn’t know that the U.S. Government doesn’t have control of its own money supply, and that this power rests in the hands of the Federal Reserve.

2. I didn’t know that the Federal Reserve is not subject to oversight by our Senate despite a congressional mandate to do so. This means that Congress doesn’t audit the Federal Reserve, and we therefore have NO IDEA what their books look like, who they lend money to, what reserves they have to back up their loans (to the U.S. Treasury), etc.

3. We The People borrow money from the Federal Reserve AT INTEREST. Therefore, the U.S. Government and We The People are not a sovereign nation. We are beholden to the private banking interests that control the Federal Reserve.

4. I didn’t know that the Federal Reserve is able to infuse money into our economy in any amount they see fit, and at any interest rate they see fit, without Congressional approval.

5. I didn’t realize that every deficit dollar the U.S. government spends is borrowed, at interest, from the Federal Reserve. Why doesn’t our Treasury simply print its own money, and not charge We The People interest? Because as it stands now (and every since 1913), every deficit dollar is paid back, with interest, to Private Banking Interests.

So, who cares about this stuff right? Six months ago I didn’t. So, why now?

Follow the money.

As long as the Federal Reserve is allowed to inject unlimited dollars into our economy (ie. by way of ‘quantitative easing’), they are effectively taxing all of us through inflation. Each dollar that is printed makes each dollar that you and I hold worth less. This is the largest tax burden we face, yet it is hidden.

Too few of us understand the U.S. Monetary Policy. It is seldom discussed, covered by the mainstream media, etc. The power of the Federal Reserve is never questioned, and it is assumed to be somehow “necessary” for our economy to be healthy. It is not.

Our current debt is what, somewhere north of $15 trillion. Here is a newsflash folks: we will never, ever get our debt under control as long as the power to print money is outside of the control of We The People, and in the hands of the private banking, quasi governmental Federal Reserve. All this talk of getting our fiscal house in order is a joke.

Our Founding Fathers warned us of a Centralized Banking System, and were keenly aware of the damage such a system causes.

I would like President Obama to talk about the adverse effects the Federal Reserve is having and will continue to have on our county. I know he understands things…but rarely, if ever, mentions these issues.

Happy Sunday

I used to be a democrat as well as Obama Supporter

No longer. Your post is the main reason among many others that I have completely said goodbye to the Democratic Party as well as the hypocritical Obama. I felt really betrayed the more I learn about the truths. Unfortunately there are still many democrats out there who still blindly follow and pledge their allegiance to the Party.

Kimmie

Why Obama?

Out of curiosity, what are the reasons you support Obama, and not voting for Paul?

I LOVE the customer analogy re honest weights and measures

It's simple analogies like this that can get through to people.

Ask someone if they would continue to buy gas at a station that they knew was only giving them 3/4 gallon for every gallon they thought they were buying.

Or a butcher whose scale was rigged to add 1/4 pound to every sale.

The original intent was that anyone could bring gold or silver to the government and the government would verify its purity, weigh it, and turn it into coin for them. Any dollar in your bank account represented a verified amount of gold or silver.

Contrast that with the current system. Ask those same people if they are confident in the value of all those "dollars" (1's and 0's) in their bank accounts.

Dr. Paul FTW!

End the Fed

I just finished "End The Fed" about an hour ago. It was written in 2008 by Ron Paul. It filled in a lot of gaps in my knowledge about our monetary policy.

He mentions "honest weights and measures" in that book, and quotes the bible's reference to same. Interesting how the more things change the more they stay the same.

I have been a Barack Obama supporter, and showed huge support four years ago. I canvassed for Obama, donated $1,500 over twelve months prior to the general election, and registered people to vote in hopes they would vote for Obama. Obama never talked about our monetary policy, the federal reserve, etc. while on the campaign trail. In my view, he is at least holding good to many of his campaign promises (more than most Presidents).

However, I now am beginning to fully understand what is at the root of our economic woes: The Federal Reserve. Free Money makes nations run off to war without much thought, create welfare/warfare states that are unsustainable, etc.

I want to go back and get my Master's Degree in Economic Policy. This stuff is fascinating, and so important. I want to share my new found knowledge of our monetary policy with as many people who will listen.

Jim, that's great to hear

I haven't read End the Fed, but one of these days I will.

If you're going to go for a Master's be prepared to either "go with the flow" to get the best grades, or beat your head against the wall trying to convince the vast majority of professors that what you're learning in Dr. Paul's books is correct.

For some can't miss background on what drives the monetary policies of the Fed, check out Alfred Adask's blog. He lays bare the foundations of the United States© economy from a legal perspective.

Also be sure to check out John Taylor Gatto's amazing insights into the history of public education in America. Want to know why the theories Dr. Paul espouses aren't taught in school, from a multitude of angles that you've never even pondered? You'll find out pretty quickly.

Add up what these two have to say, and in a nutshell you'll quickly realize that the global power brokers consider us their inventory, and your SSN is your SKU number.

With real money....

With "real" money (gold and silver), the merchant could simply use a balance scale. X grams of product == X grams of metal. So no problem! If they balance, they balance. Like, "Worth its weight in gold."

But that's what I love so much about the Free Market -- it balances, period.

Besides which, the Free Market is the most brutal, merciless "Regulator" there is - if people aren't happy with your crap, you go broke.

Sorry to be preaching to the choir, but nobody else will listen to me! )-;

Another point is that liberty

Another point is that liberty and the free market also allow us to pick the right leaders with the right ideas, as opposed to the corrupt appointed leaders in a state controlled market. The free market naturally picks out those who have proven success and natural abilities to lead. I believe this is important.

How can anyone not love and

How can anyone not love and respect this man?? Every time I listen to him speak I cheer and have those teary moments.

Don't worry

We want to keep as many delegates away from Romney as possible, so don't worry.

We can totally make this work for us.

today's county convention in WA state

We had one RP delegate who got voted to the state convention by including a quote of Nikita Kruschev in his "vote for me" speech: We cannot expect Americans to embrace Communism overnight, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until one day they wake up and find they have Communism on their doorstep (paraphrase? these were all off the cuff & might not be word for word strictly accurate).

There were quite a few Romney supporters who voted for him, and even went up to him afterwards and asked if he was going to run for local office---that they'd be happy to support him if he did.

Hyperinflation is unavoidable...

because too much "money" has already been created. All the central banks of the world have been inflating their own currencies to "keep up" with Bernanke's madness. Otherwise their own exports would have been uncompetitive.

Even when, notice I said when and not if, Ron Paul is elected and takes office next January, the purchasing power of the dollar will have gone down even further as the cost of energy, food and other commodities continue to rise.

There is only one crucial thing which Ron Paul supporters can do to assure that he gets the nomination, in addition to contributing to the seemingly endless calls for more donations, and that is participating in the selection of delegates in your own state.

I know that I am unlikely to change anyone's mind but in order for Ron Paul to live up to his claim of consistency he should rethink his position against a pregnant woman's right to choose. Unfortunately his belief that a fertilized ovum is a "person" has a religious rather than a scientific basis. The pregnant woman is a person, the ovum or embryo or fetus is a potential person and has no "rights."

Let us not lose hope and determination to get Ron Paul the nomination and make history by electing him and resetting the course of our country.

No Man's need constitutes an obligation on the part of another man to fulfill that need.

Religious?

I say, if you're going to Bible-thump, at least do so accurately:

Genesis 2:7: "Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being."

The operative word here being "breath." If it has breathed, it is a being.

It's just that simple.

Not to mention that the Constitution is there to protect the rights of BORN people, which the "right to lifers" all seem to conveniently forget about.

There is no way I can believe

that more people voted for Santorum than Ron Paul. I just can't wrap my brain around that. Dr. Paul is a hero. He's definitely my hero. None of the other candidates are worthy to be named in the same breath as him. It breaks my heart to see him robbed of wins time after time. He deserves so much better than this. He's not giving up and neither will I.....but if they cheat him out of the presidency...I say we pick a state, start our own country and elect him president. Everyone else can have whatever fascist, socialist, communist, corporate dictator they want.

I like your thinking RPismypresident

Ive thought that before....wish we could just find a place break off and start over with the principles of liberty and the constitution....and let the rest of them have their media controlled socialist nonsense....after a few years people would be running to us because of the peace, prosperity, and freedom.....imagine that

but alas, the power junkies and control freaks we have in our gov't wont allow it, the bankers and their bloodlust for control can't conceive of letting people be....they'd rather enslave a whole society and dictate choices to people - then see people living freely, in peace - pursuing lives they desire without the hands of a self righteous, power lusting banking congolomerate shoving a one world gov't down the throats off the masses whether they like it or not

Ron Paul for President's picture

I did exit polling for 3 hours

24 preferred RS
4 preferred NG
8 preferred MR plus 2 dems who could not vote
3 preferred RP
9 no indication

My opinion:
The big appeal of RS is to the middle aged, "informed", and "religious".

"Informed" implies they are educated at their church or the msm. Therefore, they think they are informed.

"Religious" implies they are pro-life but, have no problem killing every potential threat and all surroundings whether guilty or innocent. Therefore, religious but, not spiritual.

Updated: We need to keep working to engage people as Dr. Paul has done throughout his career. This is not an easy task by any stretch of the imagination. In addition, I really hate calling people and struggle every time but, have improved and found more people than other methods.
****end of opinion*****

The word is DELEGATES!

We are working to win this in April.

After seeing results like

After seeing results like tonight in LA, I just feel like people don't really want honesty. Im tired of the sheeple argument. I think most people just don't want the corrupt game of musical chairs to end on them, so they continue to ignore the man who would stop the music.

"Where liberty is, there is my country." -Benjamin Franklin

How

How can this man not be the only choice for president. Damn, what the hell is wrong with people.

What is wrong with people?

I fear that these days, far too many people really don't _want_ Liberty, with all its concomitant risks and responsibilities - they want Mommy.

Freedom is my Worship Word!

From many I speak to the

From many I speak to the media has convinced them "Paul can't win". We must keep our nose to the grindstone. If he doesn't receive the nomination, then we do this again in 2016 after Obama's second term.... with Rand.
Saying that, I still have hope for 2012.

The Exit Polls are a Lie

If you compare the exit poll data used by all the major networks, to the actual vote percentages they are almost identical. This not only applies to the Louisiana primary but this has occurred in all of the other primaries with exit poll data as well.

Actual Exit Poll Difference
Santorum: 48.99% - 49.02% = 0.03%
Romney: 26.69% - 26.51% = 0.18%
Gingrich: 15.91% - 15.98% = 0.07%
Paul: 6.15% - 6.47% = 0.32%

The Louisiana exit poll had a margin of error of 0.15%

I've done comparisons for 15 other primaries this election year and its the same thing. It has yet to ever exceed a margin of error greater then one half of a percentage point.

Edison Media Research is the agency responsible for conducting the exit polls. They are the only agency that conducts exit polls and they provide the numbers to all of the major news networks. They claim that their polls have a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points, which is reasonable, however, the actual results are statistically improbable and reveal quite clearly that these polls are made up.
