Gingrich begins charging $50 for photos on campaign trail

(CBS News) HOCKESSIN, Delaware - In a sign that his campaign is in need of fresh funds, Newt Gingrich on Monday began charging $50 to have a photograph taken with him following a campaign speech to Republican County groups here in the northernmost part of the state.

It was the first time the former House speaker has charged those attending one of his public speaking events to pose for a photograph with him.

Lets give Newt a standing

Lets give Newt a standing ovation. This has got to be the first time he's used the free market to make money.

Excellent - A Man's Gotta Eat!

At that price, next stop's turnout ought to yield Newt enough to buy himself a dog and a beer.

lFor the price of theatre ticket, we hold Gingrich harmless.

For the price of theatre & refreshment...

Our loss of a mere $50 pales in comparison... He was frightfully expensive as Speaker of the House during his reign of Terrible in Congress. Trillions of dollars of our tax money he misappropriated...

I'd pay 100 if we could throw a ball and dunk him in the water.

Frankly, I think we could wipe out the deficit.

I hope someone haggles with him on price and posts video

Look Newt, I will give you $20 for the picture if you wear the "Benny Hill" hat and do the salute.

However, I'm not paying $50 for a picture with you unless you wear the "Ron Paul 2012" baseball cap and the "END THE FED" T-Shirt in the picture.

Take it or leave it.

This Confirms It

The Gingrich campaign is nothing but a carnival sideshow, complete with dirty pictures of old hags. Can't blame him for wanting to make a few bucks, it's a free market. How many can he sell?

Buy wholesale...

Targets are cheaper at the shooting range.

If Dr. Paul

did that for EVERY photo, a purchasable ticket for every rally, license every single item MILLIONS of us have used his image in, he'd be a billionaire by now, & could've bought a gold-lined Noah's Ark with it!

Nut Grinch, you little, little, little, tiny, tiny, tiny putrid little man you!

Its not that outrageous. How

Its not that outrageous. How often do you get a chance to have your picture taken with the Emperor of the Moon?

Ahaha

I laughed outloud at that

What a narcissist... Can you

What a narcissist... Can you imagine how much money RP would have he charged $10 dollars to have a picture taken with him. I know I'd pay it!

Umm....he charged $350

In California, I think, for entrance to a 30 minute speech and photo op.

It's fundraising, not arrogance. It's kind of like when some local politicians would charge $10 for a small bowl of chili. There's no illusion that the chili is worth $10 - it's just a lot easier to raise money than saying, "yo, can I get a Hamilton for the cause? KTHXBAI!"

Don't Buy One

You're better off donating to the Paul campaign.

Just my opinion.
