Video: Lost in All the Trayvon Shuffe, a PROPER Defensive Use of CCW + Massad Ayoob on the MatterSubmitted by AnCapMercenary on Tue, 03/27/2012 - 01:38
Well, so aside from the 'fishing' draw-stroke & the Miami Vice shoulder holster that's usually banned at all modern ranges as its muzzle is constantly pointing itself at people, here's a recent Wisconsin CCW holder who showed proper restraint with his Glock 23 in .40S&W (at least what I'm guessing to be, judging by the size of the grip), proper defensive display of his firearm as needed, but no one died.
"There's 1000's of people like me right now carrying guns, so you know, them looking for easy targets? That's all over, that's not gonna happen anymore!"
By way of Dan Zimmerman (no relation to the current Zimmerman in the news) at TheTruthAboutGuns.com, an excellent daily 2nd Amendment related news aggregator, editorials, and gun and gear reviews:

MILWAUKEE — A would-be victim says his concealed carry gun was the reason a criminal’s intentions were stopped cold. He says investigators told him it’s possible the man who tried to rob him Saturday night could have robbed others this weekend.
Saturday night, March 24th, Danny Black and his girlfriend Julie took the dogs out for a walk. Seven-year-old golden-doodle Chloe was along for the stroll when Black says another person interrupted.
The two were confronted by the driver of a van in the area of 73rd and Courtland. Worrisome words quickly turned into threatening actions. Black says the driver was armed, and tried to rob the two. “He was saying to her, ‘give me the bag, give me the bag.’ It was a semi-automatic and he clicked it like he was loading it,” Black said.
On a related news, here's the Dean of Lethal Self Defense related legal matters, Massad Ayoob, on the recent Zimmerman's use of what now looks to be a Kel-Tec PF9 (9mm) vs. Trayvon, liberals vs. CCW & Stand Your Ground Laws Brouhaha:
The death almost a month ago of 17-year old Trayvon Martin at the hands of appointed neighborhood watch leader George Zimmerman has become a cause célèbre that has even drawn the notice of our President, who notes that if he had a son he would probably look like Trayvon. I’m seeing some defending Zimmerman, and most demanding his head on a platter, and a whole lot of people who don’t understand how the justice system is geared to approach these things.
As I’ve said earlier in this blog, in answer to reader query, we don’t know enough about what happened to rush to judgment yet, whether that judgment is justified self-defense, murder, or manslaughter. The police have made it clear that there is evidence that has not yet been made public, and may not be put forth until the Grand Jury examines the case next month. Some issues:
The autopsy results, including toxicology screen, have not yet been released. If it turns out that the young man who died was fueled by drugs known to cause violent behavior, could that change our perceptions? That knowledge is not yet in our hands. (Reportedly, Zimmerman was not tested, and police indicate that he showed no signs of drug or alcohol impairment.) My advice to YOU if YOU’RE ever involved in a shooting: request to be taken to a hospital to have a blood sample and toxicology screen taken. A “negative for everything” result will prevent false allegations later that you were drunk or drugged-up when you pulled the trigger.
And OMG, the NAACP representative on Amy Goodman's Democracy Now DOESN'T think the Zimmerman vs. Trayvon case has ANYTHING to to do with the Stand Your Ground Laws!
Now, how about that? A liberal who's actually not calling for more knee jerk legislation in wake of a tragedy!
That would be a first.
